Do you typically bring?? We have dining plan but just wondering what others do!!! :) 3.5 more weeks!!!! Eeeekkkk!

we are family of 5 going and we give each kid a gift card with a $100 that will be their money to spend how they please and then we talk about 1200-1500 and that is including tips. But we always have back up in the bank account for any unforeseen things.

We usually have the dining plan and always plan about $100 a day for a meal & snacks. We try to buy souvenirs at the end of the trip and allot about $100 per family member. We've been a few times so the really are happy with a shirt and stuffed animal. My son spends all of his money at the Lego store! Hope this helps! Enjoy your trip!!!

I've been looking at our room charge statement from last year as I plan what to bring this year. We always charge everything to our KTTW cards and I bring Disney gift cards to pay our balance (love the 4X fuel points at Kroger right now).

Last year we had 5 people, me, DH, DM, DD9, and DS4: We were on the dining plan and stayed Club Level at BC (so breakfasts were eaten in the club lounge). The kids each had a $50 gift card for souveniers. We spent about $750 total with gift cards (tips, drinks, souveniers, etc) and we had some cash (about $200) for incidentals when we couldn't use the KTTW card, but I think we only spent about $20 in cash. (this was about what we spent on our first trip in 2010 too)

This year it's only me, DH, and the kids and I'm probably going to bring about the same.....I may only bring $600 in gift cards though. I'm still debating and will decide before the Kroger 4x fuel points promotion ends in 2 weeks! ;)

Oh...forgot to add--all of our trips are 6 nights!

Wow, thats alot more money that what I anticipated... I was only thinking of withdrawing $300.00 and just having my debit card in case I need it? You still spend 100.00 a day- even with the dining plan?
I am planning on bringing my own snacks, waters, etc.
The gift card is a good idea- Where do I get one? Disney.com? I might put $50.00 on one for my 4 year old.

Oh- I just saw that you stay 6 nights- We only stay 4 so I guess that makes a little difference?

There are a lot of variables to fully answering this question. For us, if we have the dining plan, we don't bring much extra money. I would think $300 for 4 nights would be plenty. It would be more than enough for my family. To us, the dining plan offers enough food that we don't spend very much on extra things. I'm talking $50 or less for extra food/snacks for the while trip. Then we spend $50 or less on each of our children and very rarely get much for ourselves. They usually get something to wear, something to play with, and something special to eat. That being said, my sis is a CM and we go often so big souvenirs are a necessity every time. We are going in Oct for 3 nights and I have set aside $200 on top of everything for souvenirs, extra snacks, etc. You can really get by with taking as little or as much as much as you want. It is totally a personal preference.

Thank you- You did make me a feel alot better, I was thinking I was going to need extra money! I know what you mean about the souvenirs. I typically like to buy some but this time I am going to try to be careful. Maybe a new coffee mug and maybe a new frame to put a picture in of my family. :)

Last October I went on the dining plan with dd28, ds11 and dd8. We stayed 10 nights and I took $1000 and brought back about $100. We did pay for 3 additional TS meals on top of the ddp and the tickets for MNSSHP. The kids got a few souviners and I bought some pins and picture albums.

I budget about $20/meal for tips for TS, $20/day in snacks, $50/day for souvies... so about $100/day.
