how much money into parks?

Hello,

We don't want to be carrying all our spending money around with us all the time and will keep most of it in the safes.

How much do you think we should take into the parks with us each day?

Have you thought about having your purchases put on your room key? Then you can possibly just carry a very small amount of cash with you or even nothing at all.

What we tend to do is split the amount of money we have into the amount of days we are there so this is our daily amount, say $100, then at the end of each day what we don't spend we put into a "pot" for our last couple of days so that we can have a big spending blow out just before we leave

The way i do it is calculate my food money first (with a little help from All Ears ) then add $50 to that for the day, so I can get something nice if i see it

if you are staying onsite its really very easy to just charge to the room....no need for much cash at all

Does anyone know if you need to use a credit card to pay for stuff charged to your room key? I like the idea of it for convenience but would prefer to settle up with a traveller's cheque if possible I have a credit card but don't really want to use it except in emergencies.

You could settle up with cash/TC - but they used to have a limit of $500 (I think) & if you went over this before the end of your stay some of the bill would be charged already. I would also check with hotel when checking in & pay bill the day before you were due to check out so it didn't 'slip through'.

I'd probably settle up each day, or every 2-3 if I hadn't spent much I'll ask when I check-in.

When me an DW stayed at POR in the past we charged a few things to our room and then just paid the balance with TC as soon as we got back to the Hotel, it is much easier to keep a track on your budget doing it daily, you dont need to carry huge amounts of cash & cards, and anything you do purchase can be delivered to your hotel room

It saves having to haul everything around the park.

A quick question;

We dont have a CC but we do have Visa Debit Cards, will these be Ok use a the card imprint they always take??
