How much money should we budget for F&W? We are going one day for lunch.

Thanks!

It sort of depends on how much "eating around the World" you are going to do! On Deb Will's site is a good list of the booths from last year's festival along with prices. You can estimate how much it would cost to stop at several of them and sample some of the menus. Here you go: 2003 Food & Wine Festival Menus

it adds up pretty quick! AHHHH! i have no idea what we spent last year, but the wine was averaging $3 a sample! ( and after so much wine, i guess we all know why i dont know what we spent, lol)and the food was $2 - $4 . if you are going on a tight budget you might want to eat at a restaurant first, and then go around the world for desert. thats the best part anyway!!!

if you decide to try and eat your way around the world, be sure to stop by the German and Greek booths!

It's easy to drop a boatload of money at F&WF - You're eating little samples & walking them off, so you don't feel so full so fast.
But it is so yummy!
Can't wait to check out my 3rd F&WF.....

I think dh and I spent about $50 for the two of us

Hey Shannon! :wave2:

Are we going to be there at the same time?

ok when you say "a boatload of money" are we talking (for 2 people" $50, $100, $200? My DH and I love to try new food and wine and will be "eating around the world" one evening ... however we will have had lunch at the Primetime in MGM (including smores!) and we all know how filling that can be... so should I plan $50 or $100. Also how big are the samples approx? That makes a difference! Can't wait to go. Looking forward to Ireland and Greece booths!

Have you ever had tapas before? Some of the samples are about that size, whereas we've had some that are smaller (the peanut chicken we had once came with two or three fingers; another place, we only got one biscuit). Plan on the items being $3-5 each.

For me, three samples kinda fills me up (then again, I'm a light eater). Now if you are sharing your choices with DH, I would imagine needing more for sure. Especially if you DH has a big appetite like my fiance! You can definitely eat and be full on $50!

looking over last years offerings & prices, I believe my wife and I spent about $ 58 . This was all for food ( no beverages ). We were there over several days, and we'd share everything we ordered.

DH and I spent more than we thought we would at F&W (but that included some "rejects" from the kids). Although you're only getting a little bit at a time, it does add up to much more than you would spend at a counter service place. I would say we spent about $40 - $50 for the adults on a prolonged lunch around World Showcase. In case anyone else has some fairly picky kids with them, the Refreshment Port near Canada sells McDonald's McNuggets and fries (but no burgers) so you can take care of the kids first without hearing "but I'm HUNGRY" at every stop.
