How much money do I need?

I would just like a ball-park amount of how much cash to bring to the parks on a daily basis. Our park-passes are already paid for, and we will probably make our own breakfast. We will probably eat a nice lunch, and a light supper. Any advice anyone could give me would be much appreciated. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

All stores and restaurants accept credit cards or allow you to charge to your room if you are staying onsite. Some food carts like popcorn or ice cream need cash. Other than that, there is very little need for cash in the parks (there is an arcade in Tomorrowland if you are so inclined). I rarely spend more than about $20 cash in the course of a day in the park for my family of 3. Ridiculous to pay cash for anything when I can charge it and get the reward points from the card.

Eating at Disney can be as varied (cost wise) as staying at a Disney resort (value versus deluxe).

I would suggest looking over the menus and prices on the http://wwwallearsnet.com website:

Then think about what it is likely that your family will want to order and then estimate about 20% above that (for tax and misc. expenses).

We usually would charge one meal a day at a nice place, and I would take about $75 dollars a day to spend at the parks for the other meals and to buy whatever we might want to buy while we are there. If by the end of the week I have a surplus, I start paying cash for the nicer meals too (so I don't have a big credit card bill when we get home).

I totally agree with westjones. That site gives a lot of great information!

The thing that always killed us when planning was the ice cream...Those mickey bars are all over the parks and are 2.50 a shot.

Even though you think you may not buy them, there's something amazingly tempting about them...and unfortunately they're pretty pricey for a family.

We found that at Epcot, we could get similar decent food at the stands that were adjacent to the restaurants. Instead of paying the sit down prices, we would often buy the food from the vendor and find a nice table outside and usually there was music to listen to or something going on. This saved us a bunch at lunchtime.
