Our cars are now both paid for (not early either, lol) but when we had payments, they were each appx $350 a month.

--we saved it for a new car. I drove a '94 T-Bird (that I bought new) until 2004, then I bought a new car in cash. We still have the T-Bird (it only has 60K miles on it) and DH has a Subaru that is paid for. The new car was around $20K, I didn't want to go into debt for something fancier but I wanted something more dependable than the T-Bird for longer trips. I'll probably drive this one until 2014 and then get another new one.Once you get this mentality and get one car paid for in cash under your belt, it's easy to do the second one....and so on.

It's the first vehicle we've financed, but we'll probably pay off most of it in the next year or two, with a combination of home equity loan and cash.
