How much is your 2024 vacation going to cost you?

January 2024 is our Anniversary. We're still deciding. I really want to go to Jackson Hole and stay at the Rustic Inn. DH doesn't want to go anywhere cold. Guesstimate $4K

Our other option is Punta Cana and stay in one of the Majestic resorts. Guesstimate $5K.

June 2024 is our family reunion in Broken Bow, OK. Guesstimate $2K.

July 2024 family and friends cruise to Alaska leaving from Seattle round trip. We were able to book via casino Royale and that saved us a ton of money. Guesstimate $5K.

Fall 2024 I'm going to sweet talk DH into going to Italy. LOL!
Vacation Update

Well Anniversary trip didn't happen. However we booked a weekend at Choctaw casino in their new smoke free Sky tower resort. Simply beautiful. We also booked a 4 night weekend cruise. These two were cheap getaways on casino points and rewards. Probably $500 total.

Family Reunion is still a go in Broken Bow. We found a big 4 bdrm cabin that we are splitting the cost with my siblings. So this should be around $1,300 for cabin, gas, food, Reunion registration.

Alaska cruise is still a go. Seattle is expensive. Hotel rooms $300/night for simple 3 star like Holiday Inn Express. We just need somewhere to stay a couple of nights before the cruise. Airplane cost finally dropped to the $250s. It was tracking at $500ish. So we booked our airfare. This is still tracking at about $5,000.

DH booked a Thanksgiving cruise for the fall. $3000 budget.

I hope to book a long weekend to DL end of Sept or October. Hopefully we'll run across some cheap airfare. $4000 budget for this quick trip.

Happy Planning everyone! I love ❤️ vacations!

We used Nationwide last year for insurance including cancel for any reason insurance for our trip to Paris, Disneyland Paris, and Belfast. I liked it that for medical they contract out to GeoBlue who has a good reputation for paying medical claims. With working with GeoBlue too the Nationwide policy offered the higher medical and medical evacuation coverage levels that I wanted that some competitors didn't offer.
yup, we found the same to be true. They had the best coverage for cost vs other insurance companies.

Our Disney trip is just over 2000 for 6 nights, tickets, flights, dining. Will probably add about 500 on top of that for tips and things not on the dining plan.

Our South Dakota trip will cost about 1200 for the week.

How?! Can you break this down please?

This was the Disney+ deal that included dining. It is just me and my youngest son (17). It was EXACTLY 2000 when we were originally at All Stars, but I upgraded to Pop and it is about 2150/2200? Arrive Saturday, leave the following Friday. We got 4 day hoppers with it.

And I had a buttload of miles on Southwest, so flights were free, minus the 5.50/person fee.

Well that’s an amazing deal! Have a great trip!

RIGHT? We had no intentions of going back, at all, and definitely not this year. I just saw the deal and decided to check the price since I was all in my feelings about my kids moving out and - that was SOOOOOOO doable. Kid is paying for a good portion of it, too. So...I would have been stupid to NOT book it!

Going to WrestleMania in Philadelphia in a few weeks. Solo trip. Two night combo ticket for Mania itself, ticket to NXT show Saturday morning, two nights at Live Casino & Hotel next door to sports complex and a night at a Holiday Inn outside of town the night before. $3,860.

I’m hoping to cover food, gas and tolls from gambling. Of course, gambling could also double the cost of the weekend. :)

Free airfare is so helpful!

Just took our adult kids on a 7 night eastern cruise on the fantasy. Final tally was around $15,000

Booked a VGT rate on the fantasy for May - will probably only be $5000 for that cruise.

Will book another VGT rate on the fantasy in the fall. Probably another $5000.

For a special 40th birthday trip for one of us, doing an Adventures by Disney Ireland adventure. With that and airfare and extra hotel night and food and such the total cost is... a good bit more than I ever prefer to spend on a car lol. ;-p

$6610
4 nights poly DVC rental in June: 2236
4 day park hoppers: 1343
SWA flight (RT for 2): 693
Food budget: 1000
Souvenir budget: 300
Memory Maker: 185
Tiffany town car (RT): 150
DAH tickets (2 nights @ 2ppl): 703

Shave a bit from the food/souvenir budget from discounted gift cards/Disney visa discount 10% discount. Most of memory maker was paid for with the Disney redemption card (cash back from the Disney visa).

Flight, hotel, park tickets: NADA. DH won a trip through work. They are paying for flights, hotel, park tickets, food while at hotel. We get "per diem" money for meals. Anything extra that we spend beyond that is on us! Couldn't ask for better! (5 days, 4 nights, staying at the Dolphin. 2 days in Parks).

No way! Congratulations on winning a trip - so cool! 🙂

So we changed from HHI to Disney World. Can't say I am not thrilled! It was rather last minute so we did not have our usual booking opportunity. I ended up getting Saratoga Springs & then a recent snatch of 4 nights at VGF :)

Summer 2024
9 nights 2 bedroom preferred at SS
4 nights 2 bedroom standard VGF
flights - $2502
rental car - $1375
tickets (4 day park pass x 6 plus a couple MK days for my oldest) - $2625
cabana days at VGF x 4 - $1280
memory maker - $185
magicbands - $178
food/souvenirs (we are major foodies so we spend the bulk of our $$ here) $7500
$15645

I'll shave some off with airline miles, Disney rewards, Disney gift cards (amex gives me back 6% on grocery store purchases) and bought $500 Disney GC's from Costco for $450
