For purchases?

For accommodation?

Is there anything that is exempt from tax?

Thank you

In the Orlando/Lake Buena Vista area, the sales tax is 6.5%, hotel tax is 11.5%. In Kissimmee (including the AllStar resorts), the hotel tax is 12%.

Yes, food purchased in a grocery store, and that has exceptions.

Here's the breakdown:

Florida state sales tax is 6% but indiviual counties are allowed add up to a 1% increase. Orange County which is where most of Disney World is, has increased it by one half percent so it now is 6.5% in Orange County. Osceola County which is where the All Star Resorts are and where Kissimmee is, have increased it by the full 1% so their sales tax is 7%.

The statewide hotel tax is 5%. That is added to the sales tax when calculating room rates. So in Orange County you pay 11.5% (6.5 + 5) and in Osceola you pay 12% (7 + 5).

More information than you wanted to know, right? ;)
