How much is involved in changing a stateroom guest?

My friend's sister is probably not going to be able to go on the Aug. 13th sailing due to medical reasons. My friend asked me if I would like to replace her. I jumped on it! What is involved on the booking end for my friend? I already have a passport.

See if you can do a name change instead of a cancellation of one person and a rebooking of another. If they have a travel agent you would contact them. If booked directly with DCL call them. The lead person on the reservation will have to make the phone call. A name change would cost about $75.00. A cancellation and rebooking of a passenger will cost much more (the current cost of the cruise fare). Tell your friend NOT TO MENTION THE WORD CANCELLATION. Say you would like to see if it is possible to a name change. If so, then she would just give them your info like DOB, address, phone, email, etc.

Since the reservation is already paid for you would probably just have to reimburse your friend's sister for the cost of the cruise and name change fee.

Someone will correct me/post if there is another way to handle this.
