KARIBUNI Everyone!!!

Welcome to My Trip Report! Finally!!! We have been back since September 10th and here it is 11 days later and I'm just getting my trip report started. GlendaMax arrived at Disney when I was ready to leave and has gotten back and started her trip report. And you should read it. Here's a link: GMax goes solo

I did a pre-trip report, but it ended up being more like a blog since I didn't do alot of pre-planning for this trip but if you would like to read it, here's a link to that one. Let Me at That Mouse

But for those of you who don't fancy clicking over. Here's a run down of the cast of characters:

The Louisiana Crew

Tamara - Me - Sneezie, a recently turned 34-year old admin assist at a Refinery.

Farrah - my sister, 30, a published author (Deliver Me) writes under the pen name Farrah Rochon!

Jasmine - my daughter, 14, not my birth daughter, I have raised her since the precious age of 8 months so I have to love her and have no problem calling her my daughter. She calls me Nanny!

Kenya - my 35 year old cousin, who, we discovered on this trip, has never been to Disney World before  How did we let that get by us, we still don't know. I hope she likes it.;)

KeMarr - Kenya's 13 year old daughter, has a cell phone permanently attached to her ear, well had, until it went missing. :rolleyes1 Is in that "my mother gets on my nerves" stage

Kia - Kenya's 12 year old daughter, still loves her mother. I guess that will change next year. We'll see.

Now for the Dallas Crew:

Donnie - my brother - will be turning 29 on this trip.

Ayeshia - Donnie's wife, found out she was pregnant about two weeks before we left. For two weeks we tried to convince Donnie to let her ride Expedition Everest at least one time. Will he? We'll see.

Myesha - Ayeshia's 15 year old sister, very quiet. I think I heard her say something ONE time during the whole trip.

Anesha - Ayeshia's 11 year old daughter. Very sweet. Loves my brother like he's her own father.

Well, that's the lot of us. All ten people heading to Disney for a family reunion of sorts. And here's how our trip starts:

I am in...sounds like it is going to be a great trip...cannot wait to read more.

Or should I say Karibuni! I tried to get back on and start part #2 before anyone else, but I got side-tracked dealing with Photobucket. I am totally confuzzled when it comes to all things technological!

I'm on to the rest (or at least the middle of Day 1)

I woke up at 4:00 in the morning to use the facilities *ahem* and just never bothered to go back to sleep.

I wanted to have my house "ready for vacancy" as I'm sure most of you understand. I took a shower and threw my pjs and towels into the washing machine, then I washed the dishes and cleaned out the fridge. I put the trash out and wiped down the counters. At about 6:00am, I transferred the clothes from the washer to the dryer, threw my luggage in the car, grabbed the dog and skidattled.

At about 6:25, I arrived at my parent's house to find Farrah and Jasmine dressed and ready to go.

Let me tell you a little about Jasmine. She is a teenager. Nuff said.

Okay. I'll go into more detail. Ever since she's reached puberty, she's been excited about our trips to Disney World, until we actually get there. When we're riding in the car, she'll lower the volume on the radio and say "Let's talk about Disney World". Just like that, out of the clear, blue sky. The girl would invite people over to watch the newest Disney Vacation DVD, for pete's sake. However, once we get there she starts to act like... well, like a teenager. She doesn't want to smile, she refuses to have fun, she hates us for bringing her there. Then once we get home it's back to "Let's talk about Disney World!" Well, she was warned, that on this trip, she would NOT act like a BUTT! She was going to hop, skip and jump down Main Street or she would be locked in the room. And people, this is no idle threat and the girl knew it. She knows that I'm just crazy enough to do it. I figure I've spent the money already anyway, it's not like I'm going to get it back whether she's spends her days in the parks or in the room. That's logic, baby. And the girl knows I'm logical. So this is the last picture you'll see of Jasmine with anything close to a frown on her face:

We called Kenya, who lives up the street from my parents' house to find out what time she was leaving and found out that they were already headed to the airport.

Me: Already? Why?
Kenya: Our plane leaves at 9:05 right?
Me: No, girl. We don't leave until 9:45

Enter Farrah with the boarding info. She's huffing, she's puffing. She's starting to over-react. Why? Because while we're sitting around home sissy-footing and lolly-gagging, thinking that our flight left at 9:45; Kenya was right. Our flight left at 9:05:eek:

It was a few minutes before 8:00 when we packed into the van and my dad took off for the airport. Well, takeoff is probably to strong a word. Let's say, he set a leisurely pace towards the general direction of the airport.:rolleyes1 "Get a move on, old man! We're late" :moped: He increased his speed by about 5mph! Woo hoo!

We made it to the airport in what seemed the longest amount of time imaginable, but it really was about 30 minutes!

We get in, check our bags and called Kenya to find out where they were. She and Kia were at Starbucks getting a coffee. We meet them just before the security checkpoint. We passed the Security test with flying colors. Well, some of us did....

"What? We can't bring liquids past this point? Well, when did this start? But I just bought these frappuccinos. These were $5 each!"

Yep, that's right folks, Kenya and Kia were stripped of their Frappuccino's. Instead of staying there and drinking them - like I would have done. They threw them in the nearest can and followed us.

We then have to place all of our valuables into these dirty gray plastic buckets and take off our shoes to walk through the doorway to nowhere. KeMarr (Kenya's other daughter) keeps making the doorway thing beep. We can't figure out why. I suggest that she just tell the people about the metal plate in her head, but she refuses. FINALLY, she realizes that it might be her belt. Well, of course it is! Her belt is full of those metal bottle caps. She takes it off and goes through the doorway - no beeps! Thank God!!!

The rest of us pass through with no problem.

As we're walking through the airport towards our departure, what do we happen to pass but a Starbucks cart

While we're waiting, we call the Dallas crew. Their flight was supposed to leave at 7:00 and they had a layover in North Carolina, but when we called them they were still in Dallas. There was bad weather there. They were hoping to leave soon. A few minutes later, we were sitting in our big flying contraption and preparing for takeoff. Ayeshia's called just as were sitting down to tell us that they'd just announced that their flight would be pushed back by atleast an hour and they were definitely going to miss their connecting flight. But who can you blame?

We were set to arrive in Orlando at 11:45 and Donnie's family was supposed to arrive at 12:55 so we were just going to hang around Orlando International until they got there.

It was one of only two things I'd actually planned for this trip and that was out the window, I wonder how the other plan would work out.

That's it for now!

NEXT UP: More on Arrival Day!

Great start! I'm in :yay: I saw references to you on Glenda's trippie! Can't wait to read more! Also can't wait to hear if Jasmine follows through on enjoying her trip or gets locked in the room :rotfl2:

Thanks for stopping by.

I can't wait to tell you how it ends!!
:rotfl2:

Thanks for joining us!!! I'm sure you'll enjoy the book if you get it. She's actually sold her second book (in the series) and I'm scheduled to start editing her third one this weekend. I'm actually a better editor than I am a typist!

OK, I had to look her up on Amazon to take a peak too! I'm going to read it too! It sounds good!!! How cool!

Hey Sneezie! I'm talking to Lan and she told me you started your report! So I'm here! I'm going to start reading now!

Hi Sneezie!

I really want to know if the teenagers made it back in one piece.:rotfl:

Great start Sneezie! Can't wait to hear how the teenagers behaved (or didn't behave)!

My DS 9 still loves the World, but he's getting JUUUST enough of a 'tude for me to see some dark years ahead as I drag his mopey butt around WDW!!

Hi, Sneezie! I love your trippie so far and I am really looking forward to reading more.popcorn::

I love your signature pic! Very limey.:cool1:

Great start:surfweb:

Your Jasmine sounds like my son Tyreak (he'll be 16 in two weeks), just in reverse. At home while I'm planning our trips, acts like WDW bores him to death, but when we're there he loves it.

I have a hard getting his opinion about most things. However, he reads the Unofficial Guide cover to cover, several times each year.:confused3 :rotfl:

Can you please explain KARIBUNI? (Meaning, language) Thanks

I'm in!!!! I've been loving Gmax's TR, and your's is off to a great start already!

Hey Sneezie Looking forward to more.....curious if your niece is going to smile or not????? Dont leave us hanging to long!!

Denise:banana:

Hey Sneezie, it's me, the C-I-S lady! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I am so in...I wanna hear about that crazy lady who told you no on the elevator! ;):lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Wow Sneezie! You all had a dramatic start, and you're not even on the plane yet! Can't wait to see what happends next!

Thanks for mentioning my trip report! I'm almost finished! :cool1:
