Elementary school $1.50 - two choices. 30 cents for extra milk, $1 for ice cream.

The $1.50 isn't bad - they get the entree, salad, vagetable, roll, milk, and a dessert. I don't think I could pack that from home for $1.50. However, she does take a sack lunch about half the time - if she doesn't like what they're having. It's great that they get two choices, but some days the choices are so similar (ie - tacos and burritos, lasagna and pizza, etc. My dd LOVES both lasagna and pizza but hates anything Mexican. I wish they'd match up entrees that are not so alike. A really small issue, though. I won't be complaining about it to the school).

Overall, I'm really happy with the school lunches. I've been to eat with her and the food was good! And the cafeteria was clean!

Its up to almost $5 per kid in my middle school. The entree alone is $3, and if you want fries its another $1. The slushie is another $1. Of course, the lunch includes milk, but no one wants milk in middle school

I think hte lunch in elementary is $2


My kids have always taken lunch. Bread, lunch meat or PB & J cost about 20 cents per sandwich, 20 cents per juicebox, and 20 cents per fruit snack, granola bar. Its about 10 cents for some celery sticks as well.

For less than a dollar, we get each kid lunch.

ours are $1.80 for all grades for the "plate" lunch which includes entree, 2 side dishes, bread and milk. They also have ala-carte which is very expensive. Middle and high schoolers can get a salad and milk as their plate lunch which is nice.

My kids only buy lunch on Fridays since that is the only day they have PIZZA!

They are all picky eaters and tell me horror stories about how gross everything looks so I pack their lunches everyday.

Let me ask them for a few examples. I'll be right back....
this is what they say:

Spagehetti that is all watery.
Fish sticks that looks like processed foam inside.
Tacos with a meatlike substance in it that my son reports smells like canned dog food.
The bread sticks are hard as a rock. Funny, it used to be called "french bread" now it is called "pierre bread".
raw carrots and dip, although none of the kids would eat them because they were all dried out so all the kids donated them to the teachers that had classroom pets like rats and gerbils!
water-logged corn with no flavor whatsoever. ditto on the broccoli, oh- the green beans too.
The grapes are always split, however they do sometimes serve "frozen peaches" which one of my kids loves.
My daughter just told me that they serve a"black circle that looks like a hamburger that's been soaking in water all week". They call it country fried steak!
the youngest just said that the mac-n-cheese is pretty good.
They all say that the orange sherbert tastes like carrots...hmmm I wonder....

I guess I'll just keep making those lunches!

high school - a-la-carte, but basically my daughter buys a sandwich or salad for $2.- . She usually brings stuff from home to go along with it (doritoes, water, etc)

It is $2.75 at our school--not including milk. Three of my kids are so picky that I don't even bother. They get to have it maybe once a month. I have one son who pretty much likes everything so he gets it twice a week.

Middle school 2.00 and high school 2.25 , I had four kids in school last year they always packed but only bought on special days like brunch for lunch days. This yr it's the same.I would go broke if i had to buy lunch everyday, luckly they love to pack.

We charge $1.25 for primary and elementary everyday no matter what is served. Middle and High School pays $1.50. Lunch for all grades is $.60. Middle school has three different lines to choose from and the high school i think has 5 or 6 different choices. We are considered an affluent county.

Several counties around us have free breakfast and lunch for EVERYONE!!! Those counties are considered low income and predominately minority. This is the second year of both breakfast and lunch being free(used to just be breakfast)

My Son's elementary school charges 2.00, which does include milk. They also serve a breakfast for .50, which also includes milk.
Glad I only have one mouth to feed at school!!!
