How much for a used stove?

My neighbor has a nice working stove that she is replacing and has offered it to us for $250. Original retail with tax, about $1300. She thought it was five years old, but when she got out the paperwork, it is six. I really need a new stove, but I've never purchased used. I tried to look online and prices are anywhere from $50 to hundreds.

What do you think? I don't want to haggle over price, but could just decline the offer if that is too much. It seems reasonable, but even though the stove I'm replacing is about 25 years old, I know they don't make them like they used to.

I think that sounds like a fair price. I assume she's replacing it for cosmetic reasons? We remodeled our kitchen last year and sold our range plus vent/microwave combo, both about 7 years old for $300 together.

As long as it is working well, I think $250 is a great price.

She's selling it to get one with more bells and whistles. She's into that sort of thing. She wants the dual oven (which I would also get if I were buying new) and steam cleaning (who knew THAT was even available?).

She would tell me if it wasn't working right at this moment. Just don't know how long I can expect a 6yo model to last.
