How much does your insurance cover for prescriptions?

We have Tricare (military) and pay $3 for preferred and I think $22 for non preferred.

OP here! I asked the question because I was surprised that I had to pay $43 for a 90-day supply of pills the other day; the price before insurance was something like $134. Keep in mind that I'm a full-time student with only a part-time job, and I never had a regular prescription before this one; as they say, "Welcome to the real world"! :happytv:

Yep, that sounds about right, actually it's pretty good for 90 days! Some plans won't let you do that.

I think ours pays 80%.

Most of ours are $10/month, one of mine is $13, and my most expensive one I had been paying $55/57 per month (Tricor) but this month it's up to $64. :( I would really hate to be without prescription coverage.

$14,000 per year for insurance family of 4. $20 copay at Dr. Immunizations are free, Scripts--$3. generic, $15 name brand and $35 non-preferred. $50 copay for ER ($0 if admitted), $100 copay for outpatient procedures. Eye exams are a $5.00 copay (one time each per year) and a percentage of glasses ro contacts are covered--not much though I always have to pay about $250 pp oop.
Dental is another separate plan through DH's work--$70 per month--covers 2 cleanings per year each, xrays once per year and flouride treatments for the kids. Once a $100 deductable is reached (per person) then 80% of all procedures are covered.

I feel really blessed with my insurance. My employer pays the full premiums and there is no deductible. Prescriptions are $5 generic, $15 brand-name, and then I think 50% of formulary unless the doctor will say there is no generic/brand name equivalent to do the job. There's also mail order option - for a three month supply I believe it's $12.50 generic, $37.50 brand name. Most of the time my prescriptions are generic and sometimes for some reason they cost even less than $5.

Nothing...as long as I fill my prescriptions on post. I bought 1 antibiotic off post and I think it cost me $3.00 plus I can get generic cold medicine and over the counter medicines like ibuprofen, tylenol etc for free. We are military - Active Duty Army.

Since March 1 we have gotten all our prescriptions free. But only because we maxed out our deductible AND our total out of pocket before the end of February.:guilty: Several thousand dollars.

We pay $5 generic, $10 for 3-month supply.
Not sure about brand names. No deductible.

Right now I pay $20, $30 or $40 for a 90 day supply depending on the drug. Starting in Jan will have to pay total cost until deductible is met. Once it is met then will pay 20%.
