Your State Farm Rep should have advised ways to reduce teen insurance. I just googled and picked a Dave Ramsey article that suggested asking which Drivers Ed Courses are recommended for the company to accept for a discount. Also putting teen driver on the family policy and the car that has the lowest value. I’m not sure about that advice because many newer cars have excellent safety features.
Article says a A or B High School Report Grade average offers discount.
I have SF and prefer agent with local office but might consider online to reduce my insurance , everything is online now anyway.
Do you have
AAA or ONStar ? I think one of these companies offer discount to track driving . The Dramsey article explains how this works.
I will say I have lived near high schools and can guarantee the most dangerous accident location is when school gets out and teens are driving out of the school parking lot... especially on a Friday HaHa.
Currently Ilive near Celebration, Fl High School with a new McDs and direct World Drive to WDW... guarantee frequent fender benders within that triangle . Just something to consider that is never mentioned.
I remember early Sunday mornings driving in a nearby Corporate Office Campus for teen practice .It had huge parking lots with STOP Signs and area with some street like turns , etc... Do you have anything like that to give your teen more confidence with braking and getting into turn signal routine habit? Also an area to practice parallel parking?
I just realized practicing the actual local Path your State follows to get that drivers license test would be a good idea. Check out where they test for parallel parking and practice with teen. It definitely would be good for early Sunday morns.
Make sure teen understands what to do if accident occurs . SF used to have lots of brochures to keep in car to help document info .
Hope this helps .
Def recommend Umbrella Policy for everybody. Why do agents never suggest this?
I guess shopping around and changing policies is the way to go nowadays as pp suggested. Loyalty for a lifetime w/ SF gets me a yearly holiday greeting card.
