How much does a gallon of milk cost you?

Well I went to the store yest. and almost fell over. They raised the price to $4.19 a gallon for 1% milk. Just curious as to what you pay for a gallon? I guess the ice cream prices are not far behind.

I just bought a gallon of 1% at Sam's Club for $3.69. I think the regular grocery stores are a little more.

$3.25 for skim. That's the most expensive at the store I go to. There's a brand that's $3.15 and one that is just under $3. But, I found that the cheaper ones go bad before the expiration date.

I paid $4.59 this week for 1%. I could get 2 gallons at Costco for that price but it would go bad before we got around to drinking it. Luckily, we don't eat ice cream but I'm thinking cheese might be the next to go up.

I was at Walmart the other day and they were out of the Great Value brand and I had to buy Pet. It was 5.00!! There was some change too, but I can't remember how much.

$4.59/gallon here in Lower Westchester, feeling pretty good about it knowing my kids go thru 1/2 gallon a day

and last night a gallon of whole milk was $3.19...and that was a ten cent hike in the last few weeks.....

My store has the skim at $1.99, 1% is 2.13, 2% is 2.23 and whole milk is $2.39. That is the price with our Shoppers Club card. Don't know what the real price is. I think it is sad that we are paying the same amount for milk and gas....and from some of the prices I've seen here MORE.

Our store considers milk a loss leader. Meaning they know when people come in to buy the milk at a cheaper price they will most likely buy other things.

Gas was $2.14 though - 7 cents more than last week..

I saw on the new a few weeks back that a gallon of milk would be going up by as much as 50 cents. DH bought some on his way home from school last night as was shocked by the price.

$2.79 for 2% here at Food4Less and that is the cheapest we've seen it recently. $2.69 for 1% Chocolate Milk.

4.19 for a gallon of Hood 1% and 3.65 for a gallon of store brand 1%.
