How much do you usually spend at Nassau?

And what do you like to buy? Also, do most of the merchants accept credit cards? I've never been to Nassau, and I'm assuming that most of the Straw Market will be cash only. How much cash should I take? Thanks!

All the stores I went into took major credit cards... I would limit the cash you take off the ship as much as possible, just enough for taxi fare, if you need it, and then any small purchases you might make in the straw market.. but really, each booth is about the same there, and it's really just cheap shell jewelry, straw hats, and bags... nothing you would need more then $20 cash for.

Some of the stores we went into had a minimum purchase for credit card usage.

With that said, we spent about $250 total in Nassau, with most of that at Del Sol.. I love that store!

DelSol is a company that sells color changing things. We bought some tshirts and nail polish while in Nassau, I plan on ordering a pair of sunglasses from their website. www.justaddsun.com

We spent about $30 on rum. Maybe another $10 on a t-shirt.

DW and I spent a total of $22 in Nassau: $16 on a wrap outfit for her and $6 on sunglasses for me (I left mine in the car). We weren't really in the mood to purchase the "typical" souvenirs, so that was all we bought! Guy at the port thought we were nuts when he asked how much we had to declare!
