How much do you tip Mousekeeping?

We will be staying at All Star Sports for 7 nights. We are 2 adults and 2 kids. How much would you suggest tipping per day?

I don't really see a need to leave extra on the last day because your mousekeeper probably changes a few times during the stay.

Not to invite flames but why is it that WDW guests leave a tip (we do -$1/pers/night) but at another hotel chain you might not?

DD worked for Best Western and very rarely were the housekeepers tipped.

I leave a tip no matter what hotel/resort I stay at. I think it's just a matter of how a person was raised or a regional thing. Some seem to always leave tips and some don't.

We are a family of 4 and we also leave $4-$5 per night, no matter where we are staying, depending on the service received. When they go the extra mile to make our stay "magical" we leave a little extra.

$1 per day per person whether its just trash n towel or full cleaning
There have been times I tell the maid we dont need anything that day and dont leave a tip.
And when I know the maid will be there I leave the tip for that day - dont wait till the end

Do you leave a tip everyday or just at the end of your stay? We've always just left all the tip at the end of our stay, but lately I have just been thinking this....How do I know that the same houskeeper that has taken care of us all week will be working the day we check out?

I leave it daily and I enjoy making up special envelopes for each day...at Halloween time, I made special Halloween versions and at Christmas time I made special Christmas ones!

We are a family of four and plan on tipping $5.00/day. I think it's important to acknowledge the CMs who will be making my stay nicer by taking care of our room.

When my father goes out to restuarants he tips the individuals who bring chips/salsa and drinks. Granted he only gives them a buck or two.

Just my 2 cents worth.

We have 2 kids and 2 adults, always leave $5 in a Mousekeeping Envelope..... BUT we have given more on occassion when the service was well above expectations. My kids have even written thank you notes. Some of the staff are just so creative with the towel animals. You will likely have more than one assigned person if you are there a week.

We do "per day" since you never know if you will have the same housekeeper throughout your stay (days off etc.).
