How much do you spend on bus drivers

Another bus driver checking in. For those of you that posted you all have wonderful ideas. It's not the presant it's the thought is my way of thinking. Usually get 4-7 presants. I agree I love my job and would not think of doing anything else. I am off now due to back surgery and can't wait to get back. I am going to the school to see all my kids and give them all their presant. There is nothing like hearing they can't wait for me to come back. Gosh I miss them.

When my kid used to ride the bus, I did a $5 gift card for Dunkin Donuts.

I used to give gift cards to Starbucks but then I started talking to other moms that did the same thing. Imagine a few hundred dollars for coffee . I decided to give cash instead. Last year, I had a wonderful driver that would always drive slow and look for us if we were running late, he got $20. No less than $10 cash though.

This is the first year that DS14 has ridden the bus(we were at a charter school in another town until this year) He has a different driver in the morning and afternoon. He says the morning driver is mean, and he has to walk about 8 houses down to the stop. If he gets to the stop early, he will not wait, evem if kids are running down the street. The afternoon driver will stop in front of our house and drop him off. DS says he's really nice and funny. I am thinking I will give the am driver a $5 gift card to McD's or something and the pm one $10 cash in a nice thank you card. I wish I could afford more, because riding the bus saves me over an hour a day, not to mention the gas!

When my children rode the school bus, they only rode it home in the afternoon. We had the bestest driver...Mr. Roy. He was so kind and we appreciated all he did to keep our children safe on their way home from school.

I gave a card with $20 and a tin of Christmas mix.



Oh, and to show a sign of days gone by........when I was in middle school and my brother, sister and I rode the bus to and from school......a Catholic school(in Canada it is not considered private school so there is no tuition), anyway for Christmas one year my mom waited at the end of the driveway because that was our bus stop and she happily gave the bus driver a Christmas gift. He loved it..a bottle of wine!
Can you imagine if this happened in today's world?

In the past I've given $10 gift card to Dunkin Donuts, a big Coca Cola tin filled with chocolate chip cookies, and this year he's getting an Axe gift set I bought on clearance a few months ago from Target. He's always so appreciative that he's thought of. I am appreciative that he keeps my dd safe.

Now that my two DD's ride different buses and have many teachers each (10 total plus 3 for CCD), I need to cut back.

The bus driver gets a $5 Dunkin Donuts card.
