I'm setting out our budget for our trip, and I am just curious....

how much do you spend once you are at Disney?

We have everything paid for....room, tickets, and dining plan.

I just added up what we will need for tips, extra activities, etc. and came up to $467.00. We will probably spend about $100-200 on souvenirs, as we just came back from Disney the first week of April. I'm going to try to curb the spending in this area, simply because I doubt they have too much new, and we normally let the girls get one "big" thing on the last day at DTD, and a few little things here and there.

Anyway, just curious what your budget is after everything else is accounted for.

Doesn't sound like you need anything else, as long as your sure you can stick to that plan? I guess I would always make sure I have a large amount of money that I could access in case of an emergency!

Oh, I definitely have money I can fall back on....I just like to get an idea before I go, and pull that money out in cash so that I don't go crazy spending money on stupid stuff just because I am on vacation!

We give our kids each a $25 gift card every time we go to Disney. They love having their own money to spend and it has cut down on what they will ask us to buy for them. This trip I might give them $50 to spend and then have them purchase each other Christmas presents while we are down there.

I will definitely do the GC thing eventually, just not as meaningful to my 3 and 2 year old. We are pretty good at putting a cap on it. We normally let them get something little (last trip they bought these $4 rubber bracelets), and that curbs it for a few days. Then something else little, and then DTD on the last day.

We just really don't go in the stores, that curbs it for the most part!

We take a $100 GC with us to cover all incidentals. We're not big shoppers, and DH and I have never taken the kids  so we get each of them a $10-20 gift, and the rest is for any OOP food/drinks after using the Dining Plan.

We don't always spend this much, but we budget for $1000 between food (all OOP) and souvenirs to be spent while we're there. Sometimes an extra tour or one of the hard-ticket parties comes out of that budget, too.

I only take about $100 to the parks with me each day, I never spend that much but that is what I budget. My situation is I am only paying for me, my daughter who usually goes with me is 24 yrs old and pays for herself, my husband passed away last year, even then we made that amount do for the both of us. Understand, we go with everything prepaid, we go with Room/tickets/DDP prepaid. Our only expense during the day is ADR tips and that I already have figured and made a tip envelope with cash in it before we left home. So, when we return to the room at night, the left over cash goes back into the room safe and can be used for a big special purchase in DTD or goes back home and saved for the next Disney trip. I also budget extra funds for DTD day.

The reality is I rarely spend more than about $25 a day. But watch me on DTD day.

For gifts and souvenirs we like to hit the Walmart, spend a lot less and we are making a trip for essential breakfast items anyway.
