Just curious how much $ we will spend above and beyond the DDP? WE have mostly ADR for dinner, two breakfasts, the rest are CS.............but we will eat more CS then the alloted? TO have breakfast lunch and dinner, or do you mostly snack?

The last two trips we used the regular dining plan and I didn't spend any extra on food except for a margarita in Mexico and a drink in Canada at Le Cellier and extra money that I wanted to add for additional tips. We used some of our snack credits for drinks, but the majority of them we bought items to take home with us.

We always get the mugs at the resort that is an extra $12 each use them for coffee in the morning and soda or ice tea at night. Usually use some of the snack credits for breakfast.
Most expenses is for beer at night usually at EPCOT around the time Illusions is giong on.
$2 here and there for water or soda in the parks instead of using a SC.
This year will need extra money for tips.

We went two years ago and the only thing we bought oop was one mug from our resort that we would fill up and share and I bought my twins and ice cream cone, but that was because my dh had our cards and they were on RnR and we couldn't get them. We bought some snacks before we left our resort for the ride home. We had plenty to eat the whole trip!!

We used the free DDP the last two Septembers. I think we maybe spent $10 to $20 per day because we aren't ones that can skip breakfast, so most days we bought a full CS breakfast, then used DDP CS meals for lunch and did DDP TS for dinner. A couple of times this worked out to too much food, so we'd split a CS lunch and use the extra CS credit for breakfast the following morning. I'd say in total, not at all watching what we spent on food, we might have spent an extra $100 on food and drinks for 7 days, but it probably wasn't even that much.

I just tracked this for the 8 days were use the DDP.

I spent 119.30 on breakfast (three of us for 6 mornings); 26.61 for 2 mugs;
10.90 for an appy. at Ragland Road. I used snack credits for water etc.
All our table services were dinner - except the last day was lunch.

We purchased 2 bottles of wine and some beers also - I have the totals but this will vary by party.

About the mugs, can you use ones you already have or do you have to purchase new ones each time? I have some from 06 and wante to know if I can use them.

I have a question-why buy the mugs if you end up having snack credits left over? Why not just use a snack credit for an extra drink?

We plan on spending about $300 out of pocket above DDP. We have 4 TS meals planned above the allotted amount on DDP

:)

We just returned 2 weeks ago:sad2: and were on the regular DDP, and we are a family of 5. Being there 7 nights and 8 days:banana: ,and we spent nothing extra except for clothes and souveneirs. Our plan was to shop the day we arrived for breakfast foods like cereal and milk and bagels, cream cheese and water bottles. Unfortunately our flight was cancelled and then delayed so we didn't have time to shop and instead used our SC for breakfast. We did buy 5 resort mugs and used them everyday and most nights.

We (family of 5) were on the DDP for 10 days for the past 2 Septembers and spent (on food) only money for 2 refillable mugs out of pocket. In all honesty, we could have gotten by without the mugs, but we like getting them as souvenirs.

However, if I understand correctly, this year we will be paying gratuities at all table service restaurants, so that must be figured into the cost. Still we have figured that at around $25 per table service meal, it is still an exeptional deal with the Free Dining (if they offer it this year.)

We didn't ever spend money on extra food, except DH's alcoholic drinks when he had one.
The way we did it was (family of four): DH would use one CS credit and get breakfast (pancakes/eggs, or whatever at the food court). I would get doughnuts or something with a snack credit in the gift shop.
Then, for lunch we would share the remaining three CS credits for lunch (or even two), which was plenty of food.
Both times we were on the plan, we always had counter service and snack credits left over on the last day. But we always used exactly four TS credits per day.
It works out great! However now you have to pay for the tip and an app if you want it...

We always budget for our mugs $12.50 each and about $7 each day per person ($35 total each day for the 5 of us)...we do not, however, usually buy alcoholic drinks each day/meal (usually just 2-3 each week long trip)...most times and especially this past trip in May, we do not use nearly all of our alloted amount...we simply budget for it in-case there is something not on DDP that we want (snack wise or alcohol wise)...and it also comes in handy for unforeseen expenses as well...like the time I had to buy children's tylenol tablets at the poly because my daughter hurt her ankle (she could not wait a minute longer for them :rolleyes2 ...I normally carry them with my but had let my backpack in the room since we were just there for dinner)...they ended up being something like $8 for just a very few of them! Oh yea...we ate breakfast in the room from the items I ordered and had delivered from Garden Grocer, usually lunch CS, snack in between lunch and a late dinner (sometimes we did not even snack...we were too full!).

One thing we did on the dining plan especially the counter service was too only order one kids meal, my kids do not eat a lot and one CS was enough for both of them. We did this a lot with breakfast because we brought it back to the room and the girls snack off my meal as well. My husband on the other hand has to have 3 meals a day so we used the extra cs for him. We probaly spent an extra 200 for a 7 day stay but a majority of that was for adult beverage as we were watching several football games. I think we actually had extra snacks on our last day and we just bought extra sodas for the trip home

we used the dining plan recently, in october (during food & wine festival) and wound up spending around $50 extra (due to getting something at each of all the food booths) - we had used our 15 snack credits on the booths, but used cash for the rest we wanted to try
