I am having a yard sale on Saturday. I have such a hard time pricing things. How much do you charge for ...

adult clothes
kids clothes
coats
toys
books
bikes
scooters

Thanks a bunch for any suggestions. I have destashed my house and it feels SO good!:yay:

My motto is to price it cheap so I don't pack it all back up.
My neighbor on the other hand is trying to make more money and doesn't mind packing back up for another day.
I would base my pricing on which method you are using.
I've priced clothes anywhere from 25 cents to 2.00 to get rid of it.
Books from 10 cents to 3.00 a box.

Just had a yard sale last weekend! I did baby clothes at .50-$2 depending on brand. Kids about the same and also adults. T-shirts were avg of .50-$1. Dresses for DD were $2-3, adult $3-5. Toys were anywhere from .50 little stuff to $15 for a playstation and $20 for an exersaucer. For the bikes- start higher in the early morning- if they don't sell at say, $20-25 for a decent bike, lower it a little later and let people know you lowered it already so they don't try to make it ridiculously low. Books- depends on the condition, I usually do $1 for adult books and lower for kids, unless its some great book you knoe will sell- then price it higher! Have fun with it and don't worry- people will always ask you to go lower anyway! And don't worry if it isn't busy right off either, sometimes it just takes a while. :goodvibes I had a decent sale, but had to wait until later in the day for most sales. Guess there were a lot of yard sale that day!

I do really well with yard sales, we made almost $500 a few weeks ago.
This is what I do I price things for what I would buy them for at a yard sale. normally clothes I set very cheap b/c they don't sell well, .25 cents to 1.00 depending on what it is, jeans and stuff maybe 2.00. Bikes and stuff depending on what condition it is in. I would start at 20 and go down from there. Toys again depending on what it is but small toys and stuff .50 to 1.00. I always think of a price that I think it is worth and go a little below that. The reason is b/c if you put it for what it would be going for say on ebay (which is what it is worth) then why would they buy it form a yard sale when they can buy from ebay for the same price? good luck :goodvibes

I used to price items according to what I would pay for them myself at a garage sale.. So basically, that means "cheap"..;)
