How much do you REALLY spend???

OK, not as good as that post, since I don't have the totals broken down, but....for 7 nights , family of 5, Yacht Club Conceirege...DDP and park tickets/ $6200 ....extras...(Safari Celebration ect....) $2000.....gas for ride from Boston...$375.......Yeah, joining the DVC was the right thing to do!

Last year our big trip was 9 nights at AKL (standard room, AAA rate), dining plan for 2 adults & 1 child, 3 APs (2 adults, 1 child). Plus airfare and ALL of the other little stuff - DDE card, tips, pet sitter, airport shuttle (here at home - we did ME at WDW), souvenirs, extra snacks, several TS meals and Lunch with an Imagineer, locker rentals at the parks, etc. it was right at $6000. But with the APs we can do weekend trips for around $1500 each.

Wow! Ya'll spend sooo much. There's no way I could afford some of your vacations! I took my DD8 last September for about $800. We stayed at a value for 5 nights, got free dining, and got 4 day MYW tix. Gas was probably about $75 and I spent maybe $100 while we were there. It was sooo cheap, and sooo much fun!

I can't really afford mine either LOL.. it didn't seem that much money when I was adding a night here and a restaurant there. Man do these things add up! Never ever ever again am I looking at that total. It's just frightening!

When I look at my totals, I also get sticker shock. But I plan my trips a year ahead of time and try to pre-pay so it doesn't seem like to much at once. I will be spending about $3000 in March 08 for five days, but I will buy my 2 Ap's in July, I will pay for my plane in September and my room in Oct , Nov, and Dec. February will be my spending money month.

For our June 08 trip, I will buy my daughter's and grandson's PAP in March, buy our plane tickets in Jan. and pay for our room tickets in April, May and June. Our June spending money and both car rentals will be our tax return (get at least $4000, I know it's not financially sound to get so much back, but it works for me)

Also all holidays and birthdays will be about WDW trip in June

Holy SNOT! I should have never wrote it down! I am ballparking here to make me feel a bit better about it.
7 days / 8 nights BC standard room 8 day myw tickets and dining = 3450.00
airfare for 4 = 850.00
our share of the wishes cruise = 150.00
OOP meals = 300.00
Garden Grocer and drinks = 200.00
tips = 200.00
souvineers = 500.00
stuff I have already bought I would say around = 400.00
6050.00 whoops

GOLT for kids =300.00
6750.00

Wow how does that happen! I guess prepaying you just never notice what you are spending or at least I don't. I will really hate to see what our Dec 08 trip is going to be like! I only have had since Feb to add and make this one grow!
