im interested in knowing what you budget per day per person, or do you just take xx amount per week?
4 years ago we did it on a massivly reduced budget, but got a decent exchange rate, 2 years ago we blew the budget, nice things all the way inc. DC- which really blew the budget for 5:confused3:rotfl2:
anyway, doing "normal" this year, and think im missing a trick, i have 3 budgets-
first 24 hours (hotel in miami is paid for, but dinner that night, tolls, quick stop at walmart for water, toiletteries and ice cream at ghiradellis:), refillable mugs.
2 weeks at ssr - tips ar TS $20 per meal and mousekeeping $5 per day.
6 nights in villa, parking at US, and eats at US and evening meals (will be IHOP, dennys, golden corral type meals, mannys etc, not delux dining:thumbsup2)
:rolleyes1 a little bit of shopping at the end:idea:

so what am i missing??
how much do you all take?

This is a splash out holiday for us 2 Adults budget $270.00 a day but not spending that amount each day thats the average x . :thumbsup2

we have the ddp, so wont need anything near that i hope!
we "spoilt" the kids 2 years ago, they had too much really, what they wanted, shoes, clothes, 1000s of pins:rotfl2:, not doing it this year, got to be reasonable, but not sure what reasonable is...
tracy

i wish i had DDP that knocks the budget right down! $100 a day? x

We usually blow the budget but this trip is budget for us as we only booked a few weeks ago and haven't saved any money.
We have DDP for the second week so just tips and a trip to wal-mart. We have around 600 pounds to spend for 2 weeks between the 2 of us and 400 to buy xmas presents... LOL

Wow you tip $5 a day for mouse keeping? We must be really stingy..LOL We usually leave $2.
Are you staying DVC at SSR? if you are they only come in for trash and towel change after 3 days and then 7 (more of a saving on tips).

If you really want to know what the spending is going to be - and I would guess that food will be the main one once you are off the dining plan - you could always have a look at the online menus that most places have now-a-days and see what it is going to cost you each night. Parking at US is about $3 I think - unless you go valet when it is $20.
Only you know what gifts and souvenirs you may be planning on buying, so that will obviously add up. Once in the parks there could be water, drinks, ice creams and snacks unless you take your own. Ride photos and t-shirts are sometimes a temptation.
Also do you plan on having any mall days - or are you resisting the urge ;)
Our main expenses outside of the parks are normally things like Old Town, where the $s start to dissappear before you know what has happened (about $40 each for SkyCoaster for example)

I was thinkin the same thing last night. spending money:eek: We dont go till september so hoping to save quite a bit. Will prob take around £2000.We do have the DDP for 10 days (at ssr and aklv) and I like to take around $200 a day out.Dont always spend anywhere near that much but don't want to go and be worried about money.I don't have a credit card so will have to take my visa debit for the disney check in though never had to use it. DBF first time and he wants to get some clothes/trainers etc. I think it is an individual thing and you can spend as much or as little as you want. I know we will spend a lot less on meals the 4 nights we are off site than the 11 we are on.(even on the DDP) Daughter is a sponge and drinks for england. Must take plenty of squash and cartons to save in that department.

is there anywhere i can see the hotel menus and prices just so we have an idea of what to budget ??? i know we arent going til next year but want to put money aside each month to pay for the holiday and also for spending money

yes kenny, thanks to you i have to go see those damn cars;):rotfl2:

we ll hhave 1 shopping day at the end of the holiday, if i have to carry it all, im less likely to buy too much and therefore not have to pay too much in excess weight!

like my logic?;)

Luckily the cars are free - it's everything else that costs. The shops are quite quaint and can tempt you in, and the rides are a bit like a fair ground in the UK with similar prices. That being said we do love it there and always make a couple of trips :)

we were at Universal last week ... parking is $14, preferred was $18 and if you went after 6pm it was $3.

For 5 of us (all charged as adults) we allowed $350 a day ~ this allowed for one table service meal a day, one counter service meal, snacks, parking and mousekeeping ($5 a day). We had complimentary breakfast provided at our hotel so this was one meal we didn't need to worry about. All our shopping and other spends were on top.

I've spent hour pouring over them before :lmao:

:goodvibes

Only an hour! I have spent a good couple before!!

I am wondering this question too! There are 2 of us, spending 4 nights at Universal, then seven at pop with no DDP, then 3 at Beach Club with DDP (present from my parents being DVC owners! :goodvibes).

I am trying to budget how much each day, but I really don't know! I think we will leave the major gift buying to the end of the holiday, but just food and those sorts of things!

Hopefully we can figure it out!

It actually was a type, i meant hourS :thumbsup2

For budgeting, in the past (when not on the DDP) we tended to just take a budget for the holiday then see how far it went - if it ran out we used a card!

Guess I'm not as organised as some :)

:goodvibes
