How Much Did I Pay For This Self Inflicted Fun? A Wigdout trip report.

Awww....little Harper looks so sweet asleep in your lap. :goodvibes

That comment by Keeley about her hair cracks me up. :rotfl: As the mother of two teenage daughters, I COMPLETELY understand about the washing, drying, and the 30 minute flat-ironing of the hair (seems like they go over the same section 20 times!.) I always wonder, "How much flatter can you make it?" ;)

BTW, two things:

1. I noticed your Vera Bradley frill backpack. How do you like that and how heavy/not heavy is it? I usually carry a Vera signature cotton backpack in the park, but have been looking at getting a new one. Wasn't sure if the frill would be heavier, simply because of the material.

2. LOVE the "life is good" Mickey on your jacket. Do tell---did you buy it, or have it made? I want one!!!! ::yes::

Harper sleeping is SO adorable!

I bet she was just loving Nemo....that was a good way to start her on a lifetime of Disney! :goodvibes

I probably would have told Keeley that she could take as long as she wanted to get ready in the morning and could just meet us in the park when she got ready....... :rolleyes1

Harper asleep in your lap is just too cute :goodvibes

Yeah for an update.

I can't really say anything about the hair thing since I'm the one that takes the longest because of my hair. But I do plan accordingly and try to get up extra early.

Epcot is going to be our first park next month too. Love Soarin'! I'm so glad Harper got to enjoy Nemo! She's the perfect age to enjoy him!

Yay for an update :woohoo: Awwwww Harper's first ride
Re: The "hair" :rotfl2: I too often wonder how many times you must go over the same section again and again? :sad2: And then put it in a ponytail...that is even better! :rotfl2:
Love that sweatshirt!! I have lots of LOG shirts! :thumbsup2
Harper and Mimi = adorable!! :goodvibes
Happy you are feeling better

Tracy

Loved the picture of you and Harper... so sweet.

I am HOME reading this instead of in my classroom because school was CLOSED due to FLOODING! We had some wild weather last night, so when they called at 4:55 to tell us school was closed and it was optional for teachers... I opted out :)

Hope you are feeling better.

Hannah's school had a two hour delay, with teachers going in at the regular time. That wind and rain was crazy last night! I wasn't too thrilled with the 5:00 a.m. phone call and then 30 minutes later getting the same phone call in Spanish. There's got to be a way to program that thing so it knows to call only Spanish speaking households with that message!

Anita: hope you are feeling better today. That crowd at Soarin' was crazy! Nemo was the perfect first ride for Harper! Love the picture of you two together. She looks so cute asleep with her binky! Hannah used to have to have a pacifier to go to sleep. She called it "pie". :rotfl: :rotfl:

Aww... Nemo is DS4's favorite first ride at Epcot too! It is a great start for him and I while DH and DS7 ride Mission Space!!!! We are able to get FPs and ride Nemo -- that is our method too! So fun! He loves the starfish at the end. I am sure there was lots for her to see and hear!

Your blue hoodies are too cute! Well, her flatiron did the trick, she looks very cute...

Your whole fam looks like they are having a good morning there -- cant wait until LUNCH!!!!

If it is any consolation her hair looks good... :rolleyes1

How cute is Harper sleeping on your lap. Adorable! Nemo is a great first ride!!

I also like your life is good hoodies! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about lunch!!

Still can't believe we didn't get any pictures! What were we thinking?!?

Keely did look cute, and I loved your hoodies! I couldn't believe it when you told me where you got them (I'll let you tell). It was a beautiful day to be at Epcot for sure! :)

Glad you are feeling better!
Thanks, Me too!

Yep! I haven't bothered with maps since we got it. Our GPS only gets confused when many highways are crossing each other - and it always figures itself back out, so it's usually not a problem.

But, on such a long trip, perhaps a GPS and printed directions from Google Maps would be best.
I think we will need both, just in case we need back up!

Nemo is the perfect first ride for a little one!!! Don't ya love Baby Swap? I like that up to 3 people can ride on it too!!
It was great using the swap, worked like a charm, loved that 3 people could go!:goodvibes
I agree, Nemo was perfect!

Lunch...hmmm....since you are right there I will guess Sunshine Seasons. But, by how you worded it, I'm guessing it's a place you always visit at Epcot....and I'm completely drawing a blank! :goodvibes:
[/quote]
Nope, not Sunshine Seasons, but we didn't have too far to go.....:rolleyes1

awwwhhhh...Harper looks so cute asleep.:cutie:

I can't believe how long the line for fp's was! Looks like they need a fast pass just for the fast pass.
It was nuts as usual over there in the Soarin' line!
Nice picture.

We love baby swap. It is so nice that this is an option.
We weren't exactly how that baby swap worked but it was a pretty sweet deal! It was no trouble at all to wait with Harper especially since she was fast asleep!

Nemo was a good first ride. I bet Harper was so sweet pointing at all the many things there are in that pavilion.
Did you get a pin or other souvenir to remember her first ride by?
Didn't even think about it, I'll have to take care of that next trip and just pretend that I did it on our Christmas trip.....:rolleyes1

I hope you are feeling good enough to face this Monday morning at school. I haven't been sick or anything, but this is one of those Mondays when I would like to call in and extend my weekend a bit. I'm normally not a bit sluggish in the mornings, but this weekend just seemed to go incredibly fast for some reason!
I really felt pretty well, but the alarm just came way too early for me this morning....
I stayed in bed an extra 20 minutes!
It worked out just fine though, I usually go in really early and didn't need to do that today. I left it all in good shape on Friday.

Oh, Keeley, Keeley, Keeley. :sad2:
It's always the same old story.....:scared:

Hurray for Nemo being Harper's first ride! I bet Brooklyn would approve!
Such a cute ride to start her out on!

The Christmas topiaries are just so adorable!!! :goodvibes
I thought they were too!

Hmmm, what's for lunch? It must be too early in the morning for me because I am stumped.
Let's just say, it was the first ADR I booked and we didn't have far to walk....

Woot! A great update!!

First of all I hope you're feeling well this morning! Have a great week at school!!!!

YAY for Harper's first ride being Nemo!!!!

Wow that was a lot of people at Soarin!!!!!! Glad you were able to have your DISmeet and I can't wait to find out what you are having for lunch!!!!
As usual, the crowds heading to Soarin' were large, but our wait time wasn't too terribe, we got to ride before our noon ADR, to that was good!
I thought Nemo would be fun, not fast moving, but lots to look at, she loved it!

Oy to the hair. :rolleyes1
Like Keeley, I'm a slave to my Chi flat iron..... remember me in my shower cap on Splash? I just don't have a fit about getting ready.:lmao:

Harper is so freaking adorable!! :cutie:
Thanks, I totally agree with you on that!

Loved the picture of you and Harper... so sweet.
There is nothing like cuddling a sleeping baby!

I am HOME reading this instead of in my classroom because school was CLOSED due to FLOODING! We had some wild weather last night, so when they called at 4:55 to tell us school was closed and it was optional for teachers... I opted out :)
So did your school flood? I hope you aren't left with a big mess!

Hope you are feeling better.
I'm better, not good as new, but much better!

I think Nemo is a fantastic first ride! Yea for getting the first park day underway and for Megan and Matt feeling up to a big day! Harper is a total doll... and Keeley----I am not lookng forward to teenagers!

Hope you feel better

Thanks Laura, I'm better!
Nemo was perfect! It's hard to believe but Keeley just turned 20! It's been a long bunch of teen years that she has been running hot and cold...
For the most part she was very helpful with Harper and in turn Harper just adores her!

Hannah's school had a two hour delay, with teachers going in at the regular time. That wind and rain was crazy last night! We must live fairly close to each other. I only got one connect-ed message... didn't get one in Spanish!

Our kids had Monday, Thursday and Friday off last week too, so my girls were thrilled.

Nothing flooded at our school or house, but lots of streets in our city were flooded. There were some rescues during the night. There is an area of town where the waters were so high they had to close the exits to the interstate.

Thanks about Harper, she is a runner and I was worried that she would be a handful and not want to stay put in her stroller....
The thing about flat ironing your hair in Florida... If it's humid, it does no good.

At all.

I just love my frill backpack! Not heavy at all. The straps are super padded and it's waterproof! It's big but how much you put in it it's totally up to you....
I say take a look! I carry the matching frill tote as my everyday purse too and get so many compliments.
:goodvibes

2. LOVE the "life is good" Mickey on your jacket. Do tell---did you buy it, or have it made? I want one!!!!
Thanks on the jacket, I found the design on the DISign thread and ironed it on myself. I purchased the hoodie at Target. I'll try to find the thread and pm it to you.

Harper sleeping is SO adorable!

I bet she was just loving Nemo....that was a good way to start her on a lifetime of Disney!

Thanks! It just worked out since we had a special ADR at lunch that first day!

I probably would have told Keeley that she could take as long as she wanted to get ready in the morning and could just meet us in the park when she got ready.......

Harper asleep in your lap is just too cute :goodvibes
Oh believe me that happened on another day.....:rolleyes1
Thanks, Harper was awake one minute then the next she just passed out!
Yeah for an update.

Hey I'm picky about my hair too, but I don't throw a fit about it! Epcot is just a great park! Nemo is easily overlooked and it was a walk on for us so that was terrific!:thumbsup2
Yay for an update Awwwww Harper's first ride
Re: The "hair" I too often wonder how many times you must go over the same section again and again? : And then put it in a ponytail...that is even better!

Tracy
Thanks Tracy! The day started off pretty well, no real drama until later, much later....
I loved the Life Is Good designs on the boards.....
;)

AWwwww the "pie" how cute is that! Soarin' was a busy place that morning for sure....
I think she was so amazed by Nemo!

She surely would have been happy to go on it with Harper. As all these kids get older and our trips cross paths, it will be fun to have pictures of them together. :goodvibes
It would be fun to listen to Brooklynn's commentary....
She was certainly taking it all in! I'm sure she didn't quite know what to think of it all...

Your blue hoodies are too cute! Well, her flatiron did the trick, she looks very cute...
Well, yes, Keeley can pull off cute.

Your whole fam looks like they are having a good morning there -- cant wait until LUNCH!!!!
So far, so good, up next we do lunch!

If it is any consolation her hair looks good... :rolleyes1[
But of course it does, she had it planned that way!

How cute is Harper sleeping on your lap. Adorable! Nemo is a great first ride!!
I was happy with the way that first ride worked out, no crowds and she was happy!

I also like your life is good hoodies! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about lunch!!
Thanks on the hoodies, you should make some!
Lunch coming up soon!

We must have been so excited about meeting up that we jOh about Keeley, good thing you got a look at her during the daylight....:ust forgot! I really thought we took pictures though. Darn!
I did tell about the hoodies. I was happy with the way they turned out and I wear both of them all the time. The launder really well. Although I don't dry them....
Good thing you were able to get a look at Keeley in the daylight.....
:rolleyes1

Glad you are safe and have no clean up to do! Stay dry and enjoy your time off, are you back tomorrow?

Aww, so sweet that her first ride was nemo! I love nemo!

So sorry that your drama has started already. Girls can be something, that's for sure. All of my after school kids that I keep are girls, and let me tell ya............. I'm drowning in drama sometimes. Boys seem much easier. Can't wait to hear more, drama and all!

Harper is just cute as a button! I'm glad she loved her first ride:goodvibes We haven't ridden Nemo in a couple of trips so maybe we will again if we catch it with a short line (it was VERY long this past June).

I love your hoodie...so cool that you made it. I don't think I'll need one for April (will I?) so I'll plan that for December.

I'm guessing Garden Grill for lunch??? Can't wait to read more-drama and all!

I think Nemo is a great first ride for Miss Harper!!! Awww.....so sweet!!!

I LOVED that picture of her sleeping in your lap....I am sure that was a sweet memory for you!

Now, Miss Keeley......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....what to do with a teenager with a flat-iron!!!! CRAZY girl!!!! Doesn't she know that she is in Florida, and the humidity would zap the life out of her flatly ironed hair in no time!!!! ;) Hee hee hee!!!!! Gotta love it!

That Nemo ride was just perfect to start her out on! We did graduate to bigger things though!:goodvibes
It didn't take long for the drama to start. Girls just seemed to be wired for it don't they?
:confused3

We've had a short wait on Nemo before but never a walk on like this, it was great!

That's not it....

I think Nemo is a great first ride for Miss Harper!!! Awww.....so sweet!!!
We really got lucky when we went over to check on the line for Nemo and it was nonexistent....
The morning just worked so well!

I LOVED that picture of her sleeping in your lap....I am sure that was a sweet memory for you!
Again, it was crowded and we found a bench to wait on, it was great to sit and people watch, it's fun to do that at Disney, you see all sorts!

I'll tell you what you do with Miss Keeley, let her do just what she wants, otherwise you'll pay, oh my yes, you WILL pay......
Sometimes you will have to do what you have to do, but just let her go about her business.....
:rolleyes1
