How Much Did I Pay For This Self Inflicted Fun? A Wigdout trip report.

I did replies last night and then hit some unmagical button and lost them all....
so, I'll do them when we get back from our basketball game this afternoon. Just one game, at one o'clock then another this evening.
Just got up, Shocker came in to see if I was still alive at ten o'clock I'm just not feeling well, I haven't been to the doctor but think it's bronchitis. From all the other times I've had it. If I'm not better by Monday I'll go. I sound like a frog but I promise, I don't smell like one.....:jumping2:

Feel better soon, Wigd! Charles was battling some nasty cold/cough thing for about a week and since he is always so melodramatic I wasn't taking him seriously when he kept claiming the end was near, and we should all say our good-byes -- I kept telling him to suck it up and deal with it since it was probably just a cold. Then, he went to the doctor on Tuesday and was quite proud to be able to say that he hadn't been exaggerating because he had bronchitis. This is why I am not a doctor. ;) The cough syrup and antibiotic seems to be doing the trick. So, if it is bronchitis, Wigd, you should make sure you get to the doctor on Monday!

you are all making me glad I have an appointment on Monday. I think it's just a sinus infection though.

My kids would think I had died if I ever slept past 6, even on a weekend.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Good luck to Baylor in his games. Maybe you can do little else this weekend except lay around and nurse yourself as much as possible. Hope you can feel better quickly.

OH No Anita!! I hope you get to feeling better VERY soon!!!

Hope Baylor's games go well today for him!!!

Bleck. I hate being sick! Hope you are feeling better! Get some meds and some rest, that will be a big help!!
:goodvibes

Roger that Wilco. From the professional extender of roadtrips I would gestimate with pottie stops and gas breaks and the always popular no cake, cake shops stops...you better plan an extra few hours.

It is 30 to the keys but we are planning for 127...give or take 3.

We are renting a conversion van BTW - found one that has no mileage fees attached if we book by Jan 31st. :cool1: x-box for the kids and movies and a bed in back for decent sleeping plus more cushy seats will be awesome. It was only $736 for 10 days which was not too bad I thought. Flights were running $450 a piece! :scared1:

Ok - I will update my site tom and write more of the info about the spring break trip! :woohoo:
I need to get over and catch up on your goings on....

Whoa! I feel much better about our ten and a half hour drive.
That would be seem so doable to me, I'm just a little nervous about our double plus drive....
Driving all night........:sad2: That's not to say I wouldn't do it if it were my only option! It's an adventure, .....eh...sort of! :rotfl:
If it will get me to Disney.....
 I guess we can bond.

Hey there Anita!

Yes, I have started my TR...the link is in my siggie. I need to go on today and do another update - work has been busy and so I was MIA for a while but now I am back!! :goodvibes
I was there, very early on, then I forgot to subscribe.....:dance3:
Awww...Harper in her Pjs in the tub is such an adorable picture!! I love it!!! Oh what fun having all those DIS Meets and yay for a good dinner!!! I'm looking forward to hearing more about the fun that was had!! Sorry Matt and Megan were still sick!
I need to get crackin' on an update, this trip report is getting stale.....
just know they got better quick!

I love that pictures of Harper! Those are some precious footie pajamas!!

Guess what? Sam asked me this morning if I wanted to go for a short trip in October for my 40th birthday!! So we're going October 14-17. :) I'm so excited! I think D23 is having an event that weekend too.

Yay!
Hooray for Sam! I'm so glad that you are getting your birthday trip!
AMEN sister!
Agreed!
I just found your new report a few days ago and now I am all caught up. I read your last report and really enjoyed it. I am sorry to hear about the sickness to begin your trip. I hope that everyone felt better soon. I guess from what I have read so far that you had other problems too. I hope you still had a good time.

We ate at PTC in October and we all loved it, except my 7 year old son. Our waitress was really into her character and told him to sit down and stop whining at the table. (He wanted to sit by someone and ended up being beside someone else, you know how awful that is for a child.) He didn't take her joke very well, and was really upset then. He got over it but was not happy about that meal. The rest of us loved it. I hope he forgets that experience so we can go again.
I'm glad you found the new report! We did have our troubles but it was Disney! Good luck getting back to 50's PT 7 year old memories are pretty long lasting!
Oh Anita!!!!!! I just got a sick feeling in my stomach when I read how long it might be for you to drive........I will NEVER complain about our 12.5/13 hour drive again!!!! You are heroes in my eyes!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Jen, I get a bit of a sick feeling in my stomach too!
I have driven the whole Kansas to Florida thing and its a good chunk of a drive...I think there are about 9 states you go through or something like that LOL!!! Either way I know you'll make the most of it and have fun being together...just don't kill each other LOL!!!!

Yup my 7 hour drive doesn't seem so bad now LOL (Not that I ever complained...because I'm the worst flier ever LOL!!)

Great win for the Jayhawks last night although it was pretty close up until the end...and the other teams that lost last night made it all the more sweet for me....LOL!!!!
I just hope we can make it without stopping...
taking turns sleeping and all.
7 hours, would be a dream come true!
That win was down to the wire, we certainly couldn't sit back and relax during that game!

A friend of mine said she found flights from OKC to Orlando for $200 round trip. I think it was with Frontier? I'm thinking she said it was a new route that they had just added.
We checked, still $1200 for us....
You might want to double check the mapquest directions....we ended up with a 12 hour "short cut" and then it forgot to mention 400 miles worth of pavement across wyoming.
Shocker is on top of checking all the routes!
I really like google maps. They've never steered me wrong. They were right on the money for us~~ Knoxville to WDW 10 hours and 10 minutes!
I think Marc has checked them too!

I work for AAA and we never use Mapquest because they are often wrong. We use Google maps alot.
So mapquest is a no!
I was going to recommend AAA Trip Tik! That's what I used when we drove to WDW in 2008 and to D.C. last year. They have very good directions.
I'll pass that on to Shocker!
I work in the emergency road service dept and they told us not to use Mapquest. We do use google. I don't know what they use for the trip tiks but they are great maps.
We are getting some great advice! Thanks!
CoughcoughahemGPScoughcough.

I don't leave home without mine. :rolleyes1
That's some cough you've got there Leslie! Are you feeling OK?;)

:thumbsup2
I  TripTiks.

I grew up with them for family road trips and we did a monster one 2 years ago to drive from Seattle, through Yellowstone, to Denver, Santa Fe, Grand Canyon and back.

Construction warnings and the works! It was right on the money.
OK, we will give Trip Tiks a look see!
I got a brand spankin' new GPS for Christmas!!! :cool1:
We have one too and it sounds just like Hugh Jackman!
I didn't want to buy one before our huge trip...why pay all that money when I can get directions for free?

well, we got one as soon as we got home...and of course the scavenger hunt we were on was all my fault for not wanting to buy the gps in the first place.
Still not sure I'm ready to set off with only the GPS for directions....
As my sister asked me, "How did we get anywhere without this thing???"
Might need a map too...
I resisted the gps for a long time. My husband really really wanted one and I just thought it was a waste of money....well.....my husband is horrible with directions and since this is home state I was relying on him to get me places. Big Mistake. I ended up asking for the gps for my birthday this year....best present EVER.

I don't know! I love mine, best thing ever.
Wouldn't you want a map too?
:laughing: ::yes::

I was anti-GPS for a long time, "What's the point?" I'd ask Joe just thinking he wanted ANOTHER gadget.

Then, last year, we got one for his Dad for Christmas, and Joe wanted to "test drive it".

I was hooked! Love it!
Would you feel safe going with only the GPS?
I got a brand spankin' new GPS for christmas, too. But I could tell that Denny loved it so much, so I told him he could keep it and I would take the old one. Aren't I the best????? And he didn't even try to say no, either! :rotfl:
Wasn't he nice not to argue with you?
Always the funny guy!
Shocker, this is your sleep late day! What are you doing up so early? Another Baylor basketball tournament?
Tournament wasn't until much later...

Our little Paco!
