How much contact do you have w/ your guide?

DW & I have spoken with him during the treatments for addonitis, and we always recieve a phone message in our rooms when we stay in The World. Twice I have gone to the SSR DVC center to see him just to say hello after his offer for such a thing in his phone messages. Both times we were treated coldly at the main desk with an attitude of disbeleif that we wanted to see him. Both times we were told he was tied up with others. The last time I suggested that we would wait until he was free, just to say hello as his phone message suggested. It was suggested that he would probably not be available for a very long time. They did not call him or check a schedule either time. It took two visits (because I'm slow) but I think the DCV counter is desinged to protect the guides from the public.

How stupid of me to try to see my guide personnally again after our initial sales meeting to let him see that we are indeed happy with our decision to by into DVC. I guess the add ons should tell the story on their own.

I doubt if I try again.

:rotfl::scared::rotfl2: What a funny and true story.

Like people have said guides are Salesman. Not to get into details about mine but I wouldn't go back to the same one. In fact the people at Quality Assurance become closer because they can answer almost any question or direct you to the people who can. Luckily I bought because of the product not the guide.

You can request another guide, many do and many change guides more than once too.

I love my guide! I do hear from her when new information arrives! She has even listen to me go over the pros and cons of an add-on and has really given useful advice. During this conversation of pros and cons, she told me of a man who she has kept in contact with for six years, and he finally took the plunge and bought DVC ( when he was ready.) She sends latest incentives through the mail all the time! When I was in the hospital, she called to see how I was doing!

She also told us to come and say "hi" when we were on site. When we did arrive she greeted us warmly with a big hug, and she treated us like royalty!

At the VGC promotional event we switched our incentives to the new incentives and she had to worked really hard to do that since we had already used a portion of our developer points on that night's stay. She had to do a lot of finagling to get it done, she really bent over back-wards to make it work and for us to be happy! She is awesome! I actually feel like she is more of a friend than a guide!

None - I was assigned a guide when I bought resale (closed in Jan)and have not heard from her.

Our original guide was a gentleman named Mark Webb. He was very nice during the transaction, then we never heard form him again...not that I expected to.

I think he left, because when we got the info about extending our OKW contract, our guide was Bruce....I don't recall him last name. He was nice to, handled that transaction for us. Haven't heard form him since, not that I expect to.

I just always assume the guides are there to assist with purchasing. Once I was a member, I dealt with Member Services.
