How much Christmas can we squeeze into 3 days? Nov/Dec 2015 TR *NEW TR Link 5/18!*

It seems like you've got the planning down to a science - a good job for you! Scary moment with your DS but it doesn't sound like it put a damper on the rest of the day.

Congrats on the new job! So exciting!

Glad you enjoyed the Little Mermaid! It's a cute show and a nice place if you need to sit and take a break for a little! Loved Nate's comment about letting you see it! ;)

Ah, I'm sorry your time at the play area was stressful! That sounds really scary :( but glad to hear happy times are ahead!

Congrats on the new job!! I'd love to do that!

Oh my gosh, do I know that mom yell!! I'm sorry he took off like that. But I'm very glad you guys found him so quickly. Scary, scary.

**Before I get started, another fun announcement! If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you'll know what I'm talking about! I don't want to post too much here due to the rules of the boards but I just signed a contract with an agency to be a travel specialist. I'm going to get to help people plan their Disney vacations and it's a job!! I've been looking for something to do at home and this is so perfect. I'm EXCITED!! :goodvibes

YAYYYYY!! That is so fun!!! And you'll get to work to make people's vacations magical... So excited for you!!

When we left off, we had just reunited after my solo trip to One Man's Dream and the others had seen the Disney Junior show. Seeing the Voyage of The Little Mermaid was a high priority for this trip. I know rumors are circulating that it will be going away to make room for the new Star Wars and Toy Story lands. That list of "at risk" attractions is pretty big!

I love this show! It could certainly use some updating.. but it's short and sweet. LM is my fave movie too. I hope they don't do away with this but I'm convinced they will. I gotta get there in April now!

Nate agreed to see a "girl" show for me. "Because you're a girl, mom. And we can see this for you." :rotfl: So kind of him to accommodate me!

Awwww how sweet!

The boys had a blast here last trip and they were so excited to play. I was happy they would get a chance to run. Sounds like a win win, right? Let's just hold onto that feeling for a minute...because it didn't last long. :sad2:

OMG.... Ah. I can't even imagine how scary that was! I gotta say I think I've read another TR with the same story of a little one wandering off in Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground.. I'm sure it gets crazy busy in there.

PS. Totally thought that playground was closed down lol! I had no idea it was still there.

Congratulations on your new venture as a Travel Specialist! Sounds like a great opportunity -- a dream job!

I enjoy the Voyage of the Little Mermaid too, but the film and screen are in need of some serious TLC. It would be great if they could save the attraction and revamp it into the digital era

:cool1::cheer2::jumping1::dancer:party: Congrats!!!!

Nate agreed to see a "girl" show for me. "Because you're a girl, mom. And we can see this for you." :rotfl: So kind of him to accommodate me!
You know, that's actually pretty sweet! :lovestruc

And that's where the pictures stop. Because the next 5 minutes were the scariest moments of my entire life.
Uh oh.....

And who was up there, jumping around like he didn't have a care in the world? :headache:
:sad2:

I did the mom yell, you know the one?
::yes:: I've done it once or twice myself.

And he came down right away. I took him out of the play area and we had a long and hard talk about what had just happened. It was not pretty, I promise.
Yikes how scary! Glad everything was alright though.

So, for me, the closing of the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground is not such a bad thing.
yeah we avoided it in may for this reason.

I have fallen so far behind on TRs but I just caught up!

That meet with Sorcerer Mickey is a little hidden gem! We discovered it on our November trip and did it again in February, both with a wait of less than 10 minutes. I think a lot of people just pass it by without realizing he is back there!

I love that you got a little mommy alone time in DHS! It's always so nice to have those few moments to just do something you want to do without having to hear your name a bajillion times or listen to any whining. lol

Ohh, no fun on the panic at the playground. I get anxiety every time DS would take off in the Fievel's play area at Universal, just because it is SO big, and he can exit from the other side and I'd never see him from where I was waiting for him. It made me so nervous!! I can't even imagine if I had told him to wait and he'd run off and I couldn't find him right away. I'd have lost my mind with worry!! And I totally know that mom fuss when you are really just so relieved that you found them but you gotta let 'em have it for running off in the first place!! Did that once with DS when he was playing outside and followed a bunch of big kids from next door to their friends' house a street over. I was sick to my stomach!

Congratulations on the new job! That is very exciting! I'd love to do something like that some day

I love One Man's Dream and glad you got some time in there. I love all the ride models and things like that. I do hope it (or something like it) is added somewhere else if it goes away. I've heard some people say having something at Disney Springs would be good and that could be interesting. Honestly, I'll take it anywhere - something about the history of the parks and of Walt needs to be there!

oh gosh! Glad you found Colin and in the end wasn't a huge thing but I am sure those few minutes felt like an eternity!

Wow, Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! Combining Disney talking to people about Disney and getting paid for it sounds like perfection to me.

Nate agreed to see a "girl" show for me. "Because you're a girl, mom. And we can see this for you." :rotfl: So kind of him to accommodate me!
:rotfl2: Accommodating indeed

Great picture!

I looked EVERYWHERE. But that place is a literal zoo. I found my parents and Jim and we all split up looking for him. My heart was beating like crazy and I was in full panic mode. I was just about to go find a CM when I looked up at the ropes course.
I had the same thing happen with my daughter. There are so many nooks and crannys to that place that its nearly impossible to find them. Know they are closing now but it would be good if they went to a chuck e cheese like system where the kids and parents get a number stamped so you know they can't leave without you. Would certainly quiet my mind a bit

I was a little ashamed that our scores were so close, especially since he's only 3.
Wow, he did a great job! I'm impressed! :cheer2:

I asked her if the wait was long and she said it was empty!
Awesome timing! Love when you can get a quick meet in like that!

Buzz and Woody loved that Nate and Colin had their own Buzz and Woody ears on!
Super cute - I love their ears and this was the perfect meet for them.

And maybe for a little Mommy alone time?
:thumbsup2

***I'm just going to jump in here before the update and say that I have happy (for me) news! Remember how my SIL and BIL dropped in for ADRs, etc. without notice during this trip. They're moving from Cocoa to Georgia! They will be moving before our May trip. Of course, I'm really happy for them as it's a good career move for BIL. And maybe just a little bit happy since that means the likelihood of them joining us for any ADRs is slim to none since they will be several hours away. :goodvibes :worship:  ***
:thumbsup2

With my shiny new AP and TiW cards in hand, I headed out for a little solo time before the Disney Junior show let out. I'll admit that I was a little giddy! I could do ANYTHING I WANTED! Not something that happens often when you're used to touring with 6 other people. It was a nice preview for my solo adventure in October!
Such a great feeling! I have to admit that I was really looking forward to that solo time a couple evenings in Disneyland (and it was great).

Congratulations! :cool1:

So, for me, the closing of the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground is not such a bad thing.
Scary time! I think most/all of the Disney playgrounds just have one entrance/exit, so at least it helps to know you can station someone there to make sure he doesn't get out.

Congratulations! I hope your clients appreciate you doing some of the legwork for them.

Thank you! I'm really excited because I really do love the entire planning aspect of a trip.

Awww, I like this show too. I'd agree - short and sweet. And it's good for Nate to learn that we do things for our family members' happiness.

It was a really cute show. And we're working on caring about making others happy sometimes too - always a struggle at first!

Totally understand - those are long minutes indeed! That's the one instance when it would be nice to be able to use the magic bands as some kind of homing beacon. I'm glad you were able to find him so quickly!

It was one the scariest moments of my life! And it would be nice to be able to track with those bands sometimes. Or at least have a check in system or locked gate at the exit.

I have Under the Sea as my ringtone.

Oh my, definitely sounds terrifying!

Very scary. Not sorry to see that thing go a bit, especially since it's making way for some many amazing things!

It seems like you've got the planning down to a science - a good job for you! Scary moment with your DS but it doesn't sound like it put a damper on the rest of the day.

I'm really excited about this new chance to spend even more time thinking about Disney! :goodvibes And it was quite a scary few minutes. We moved on quickly but I'm a little extra vigilant now!

Congrats on the new job! So exciting!

I'm really excited - more time to look at Disney stuff! And now I have a totally valid reason!

Glad you enjoyed the Little Mermaid! It's a cute show and a nice place if you need to sit and take a break for a little! Loved Nate's comment about letting you see it! ;)

Isn't he kind? :rotfl: But I really did enjoy the show. It was nice to take a break few a few minutes. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it but it was majorly HOT while we were there!

Ah, I'm sorry your time at the play area was stressful! That sounds really scary :( but glad to hear happy times are ahead!

We had fun at first, at least! But I'm really not sorry to see that place go.

Congrats on the new job!! I'd love to do that!

Thank you! I had been thinking about it for a few months before I applied. If you want to hear more, message me and I'll send you the information on the agencies I applied for!

Oh my gosh, do I know that mom yell!! I'm sorry he took off like that. But I'm very glad you guys found him so quickly. Scary, scary.

It was so scary!! A thousand things were running through my head.

YAYYYYY!! That is so fun!!! And you'll get to work to make people's vacations magical... So excited for you!!

Thank you! I'm really excited - now I have a real reason to look at Disney stuff even if I'm not planning a trip!

I love this show! It could certainly use some updating.. but it's short and sweet. LM is my fave movie too. I hope they don't do away with this but I'm convinced they will. I gotta get there in April now!

I hope they keep it around for a little bit longer so I can see it one more time!

Awwww how sweet!

Right? :rotfl2: Wasn't he kind to agree to see that for me? It's not like I suck it up and watch Ninja Turtles or play superheroes with him all the time or anything!

OMG....

The playground felt really busy this day, more than our previous trip. But I'm sure it felt that way looking back because of our scare! And I won't be sorry to see it go!

Congratulations on your new venture as a Travel Specialist! Sounds like a great opportunity -- a dream job!

Thank you! I'm really excited to do even more Disney planning - with a totally valid reason now!

I enjoy the Voyage of the Little Mermaid too, but the film and screen are in need of some serious TLC. It would be great if they could save the attraction and revamp it into the digital era

I would love a new version! I know it's quite outdated but I really love the movie so I hope it stays around in some form!

:cool1::cheer2::jumping1::dancer:party: Congrats!!!!

Thank you!!

You know, that's actually pretty sweet! :lovestruc

Right? Very big of him to agree to see anything Princess-related!

Uh oh.....

Yikes how scary! Glad everything was alright though.

Very scary few minutes! He's my wanderer in general but it was just so crowded and huge that it made it really scary for me.

yeah we avoided it in may for this reason.

I wish there was some kind of check in system or locked gate at the play areas to make it more secure.

I have fallen so far behind on TRs but I just caught up!

You and me both!

That meet with Sorcerer Mickey is a little hidden gem! We discovered it on our November trip and did it again in February, both with a wait of less than 10 minutes. I think a lot of people just pass it by without realizing he is back there!

It is quite hidden! Was that meet in the Animation Building before? We'll be stopping by in May again!

I love that you got a little mommy alone time in DHS! It's always so nice to have those few moments to just do something you want to do without having to hear your name a bajillion times or listen to any whining. lol

It was so nice! Starbucks and not having to push a stroller! I forgot how FAST I can move through the park by myself!

Ohh, no fun on the panic at the playground. I get anxiety every time DS would take off in the Fievel's play area at Universal, just because it is SO big, and he can exit from the other side and I'd never see him from where I was waiting for him. Did that once with DS when he was playing outside and followed a bunch of big kids from next door to their friends' house a street over. I was sick to my stomach!

Colin is the one I have to keep an eye on at the playground because he tends to wander off. It's a really scary few minutes because that place is so big! I wish there was a gate or something to make sure they can't escape for real!

Congratulations on the new job! That is very exciting! I'd love to do something like that some day

Thank you! I had been thinking about it for quite some time. The boys will all be in school or preschool for a few hours a day next year so this is perfect.

I wish I could have spent more time really taking everything in. I hope it's still around in October so I can spend as much time as I want there! And I've heard the rumors about it moving to Disney Springs as well. I agree it needs to stay around in some form.

oh gosh! Glad you found Colin and in the end wasn't a huge thing but I am sure those few minutes felt like an eternity!

A very scary few minutes. I wish the play area was more enclosed or secure in some way. The Boneyard is the same way so we'll be extra vigilant in May!

Wow, Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! Combining Disney talking to people about Disney and getting paid for it sounds like perfection to me.

Thank you! I get a reason to look at Disney stuff even when we don't have a trip planned!

:rotfl2: Accommodating indeed

Isn't he sweet? Not that I don't play superheroes and watch Transformers with him all the time!

Great picture!

Thank you! :goodvibes

A secure check in/out system would be perfect. And that place is so huge! All of the tunnels and slides are just crazy. It was a really scary few minutes!

Wow, he did a great job! I'm impressed! :cheer2:

I was too - I didn't even notice how close our scores were until I looked back at the pictures!

Awesome timing! Love when you can get a quick meet in like that!

It was a nice surprise meet! I don't think many people knew it was there. We'll be checking it out in May!

Super cute - I love their ears and this was the perfect meet for them.

It was really perfect! We were all loving the matching ears!

Such a great feeling! I have to admit that I was really looking forward to that solo time a couple evenings in Disneyland (and it was great).

I didn't realized how fast I could move through the park by myself! Doesn't it feel great??

Congratulations! :cool1:

Thank you!

Scary time! I think most/all of the Disney playgrounds just have one entrance/exit, so at least it helps to know you can station someone there to make sure he doesn't get out.

It was really scary! But I'm going to be honest - I didn't even think about posting someone at the exit! I think I was total panic mode!

Yay for your AP and becoming a TA:jumping1:. I am super jealous, I really want to be a TA :worried:. That is so scary about Colin running off, I serious worry about this and avoid these places like the plague. I'm not sad it's closing either. Sounds like a good day other than that. Can't wait to see what you think about the lights.

So cute - I have "Once Upon A Dream" from Sleeping Beauty, which was the first Disney movie that I saw in theaters in 1979... I made my sister play "fairies" with me for hours.

:goodvibes I love that we can work a little Disney into anything!!

Hi, Jamie!!
I fell so behind on your TR somehow!!?! Glad I finally made it back :)

CONGRATS on the new job!! I am so excited for you :) If I wasn't a teacher, I think I would rather be planning other people's magical vacations. I bet you're going to love it!

Oh, the glory of some Mommy-alone time to wander!! In my opinion, you picked THE PERFECT way to spend your time. Mom and I went to One Man's Dream in November, too, just in case it's closed next time we make our way to WDW. I have a feeling it will be. Sigh. Sniffle, sniffle. :(

I had the same terrifying experience at Honey I Shrunk the Kids. It is AWFUL. I am not too sad either that it's closing.

Hopefully I won't fall so far behind again!! :)

Finally caught up! Sorry a little behind around here!

I am with you on the mornings, I do pretty good with mornings, and love getting ready to get going... DH on the other hand... not so much!

Great that you were able to get a little 'mom time'! I also find it funny how many people go to WDW with such little info. I don't go on any trip with such little info, so many i just don't get it  Love the ' we can do a girl show for you mom' haha kids :rotfl2:

Oh that is way scary to loss a kid, I think part of the problem IMO is any playground that is that crowded makes it that much easier for a kid to get lost, even with out meaning too... so scary :confused3 But i am SO happy this had a happy ending:hug:

Hi, Jamie!!
I fell so behind on your TR somehow!!?! Glad I finally made it back :)

I think that's the trend around here. It must be a busy time of year for all of us!

CONGRATS on the new job!! I am so excited for you :) If I wasn't a teacher, I think I would rather be planning other people's magical vacations. I bet you're going to love it!

Thank you! :goodvibes I'm really excited to be able to do something I really enjoy from home! And I taught middle school before staying at home with the boys...not sure which one is harder still! :rotfl:

Oh, the glory of some Mommy-alone time to wander!! In my opinion, you picked THE PERFECT way to spend your time. Mom and I went to One Man's Dream in November, too, just in case it's closed next time we make our way to WDW. I have a feeling it will be. Sigh. Sniffle, sniffle. :(

I loved my little preview of solo Disney time. And for at least one glimpse of One Man's Dream. I'm going to be so sad if (or when) it closes. I just hope I can see it in October!!

I had the same terrifying experience at Honey I Shrunk the Kids. It is AWFUL. I am not too sad either that it's closing.

I think it's really common! It would be nice if the area was more secure with a check in system or gate at least.

Hopefully I won't fall so far behind again!! :)

You won't be alone if it happens!! I feel perpetually behind on everyone's TRs!

Finally caught up! Sorry a little behind around here!

Join the club! I am forever behind!

I am with you on the mornings, I do pretty good with mornings, and love getting ready to get going... DH on the other hand... not so much!

Luckily, my parents are pretty good at getting moving if I give them a specific time. The 3 little boys and 1 big boy in my house are not...

Great that you were able to get a little 'mom time'! I also find it funny how many people go to WDW with such little info. I don't go on any trip with such little info, so many i just don't get it  Love the ' we can do a girl show for you mom' haha kids :rotfl2:

The solo time was such a nice break! And I am big on planning and research too. Not knowing would just stress me out to no end!

Oh that is way scary to loss a kid, I think part of the problem IMO is any playground that is that crowded makes it that much easier for a kid to get lost, even with out meaning too... so scary :confused3 But i am SO happy this had a happy ending:hug:

It felt way more crowded on this day than our previous trips. That and he is so much better at climbing this year!
