we won't valet and I'm not including restaurant tips which will be put on a card. So, housekeeping and bell services mostly. How much cash would you bring considering a 10 day split stay. TIA!

Truthfully, I don't tip housekeeping unless I ask for something special or they go above what I expect. It doesn't happen often.
Most people seem to tip $1 per person per night.

I don't tip housekeeping unless they do something special or somehow really impress me. At restaurants with buffets I don't tip when all they're really doing is bringing me a drink. That said I just make sure I have some cash in case it's needed which could be 10-20% of a bill. I also always tip valet service with a few bucks since I'm trusting them with my car.

I didn't bring a specific amount for just tipping, but I always have $1,000 between cash and travelers checks for a 7 day cruise.

Um, you are supposed to tip at buffets. Some lower the amount down to 10/15%, but they are refilling your drinks, and bussing your table.

I do $5 per day for housekeeping (I've seen envelopes for housekeeping at higher end business hotels), and $1 per bag.

Who clears your plates off your table every time you make a trip up to the buffet? Most people make more than one trip, don't you? Does your family just keep a stack of dirty plates at the table until you're done? Then you take the into the kitchen yourself?

Never worked a buffet as a waitress but I would assume that they actually do more work than at a plated restaurant.

We cleaned our room each morning an tried to tidy up and left $5.00 per day. We ripped $5 at buffets and between $15-$20 at other sit down restaurants. Although, we had REALLY great service at 1900 Park Fare dinner and left a $20 tip.

We also tipped the cast member who delivered our garden grocery order, because they actually put everything cold in the fridge, and even some of the waters and Gatorade in the fridge. (We weren't in the room, so had to go back to the service area and give it to them there.)

We tried to tip the bus drivers but they aren't allowed to accept tips which bummed us out. We WERE able to tip the Magical Express bus driver - we have them $10 each way.

If you aren't going to tip a server please just go to quick service. If you are in a table service restaurant you tip...period.

Buffet servers should get at least 10% of your bill. They are taxed on the food you buy at a rate of 8% (at least that was the case).

Nothing is that cut and dry. If the service was horrible, I would be hard pressed to leave anything.

I tip less at buffet meal as well. A person who busses tables and a server are very different.

We tip mousekeeping $5 per night, baggage handlers (on bus, at resort, etc.) $1 per bag, buffet servers 10% and sit-down restaurant servers 15-20%, depending on quality of service.

My DD decorates the mousekeeping envelopes before we go. :)
