How much are you all paying for oil?

Last year I paid 2.29 :thumbsup2

This year 2.82 :scared1:

How do they expect people to spend their money to help the economy when everything costs so much?

My price wouldn't help you - I paid $200 for my last fill of 100 gallons, but that's cost - DH works for an oil co and that's one of the benefits he gets. DH said the price is going to creep over $3 before the year is out.

We are locked in at $2.99. If it goes under 2.99 we pay less but if it goes over we will not pay more than the 2.99.....thank goodness

3.15 last month, back in January is was about 2.50.

We just got a delivery yesterday - had just over half a tank full (250 gallon tank). Almost died when I saw a $400 bill - it was 3.099 a gallon!

Filled up today at 3.10/gal Ughhh Good thing we have a pellet stove to supplement!

2 years ago, we had the final fill on our tank for the winter (about 200 gallons) and it was..... $865! Price per gallon was $4.19.

Here's the kicker... When we bought the house, we had no previous experience with oil heat (none with any heat really since it was our first place outside of a mobile home and that was really cheap.) We were using a tankful every month through the winter (68 on the thermostat) and with the cost being roughly $200 to fill, thought that was normal. After all, my parents were on a budget billing for gas and was paying $200/month all year long.

That summer, we did a lot of work insulating the house, and along with the price going back down to normal levels, now we fill up the tank about twice per the past 2 winters instead of once a month for 5 months.

We were topped off (now on a schedule) around Thanksgiving and it was $2.19 or $2.29 I think.

Last year it was around 2.20 a gallon. This year it is about 2.75 a gallon and we use the cheapest company in the state.

We have a ceiling rate this year. In the past I have gotten screwed on my lock in, and I just know this year I'll get screwed on the ceiling rate!

We won't pay more than $3.049 a gallon but if it goes lower, we pay the lower rate. Got oil last week at the $3.049 rate.

As confirmed by our newspaper this morning, home heating oil is $3.40 per gallon....can't wait for my next deliver :headache:
