I spent the day running around in preparations for Thursday and Sunday night's celebrations of Mister Disney's Birthday. When I picked him up after his long day of work at the trade show, he announced that his boss didn't want to go to the Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner, the reservation was canceled, and that we were on our own.

UGH ... not for nothing, but we worked hard to get the reservations only to have the boss change his mind. Worse, after we canceled them, he decided he wanted to go afterall.

No matter, we were going there Thursday anyway, so we decided that our dining challenge for the evening would be to find a quality restaurant that would effectively help us lower our nightly average cost for dining and provide us with the lavished spreads to which we have become accustomed.

Throughout our extensive travels and adventures, we've continuously run into one of the most amazing people on earth: Selbst Dienst

We always seem to end up chatting with Selbst, usually when we are alone, but often even in huge crowds. As lucky as we were Monday to run into Raul Herrara, running into Selbst was a stroke of good fortune for us Tuesday. Talking to Selbst and discussing the challenge which we presented to ourselves, we asked what the best place to dine would be that night.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 He told us we were in luck. There was a great place: it just so happened to be his place of employment; it was very reasonably priced; we were guaranteed seating; and we would definitely leave full. We got the address, showered and changed into casual clothes, then hopped into the convertible.

Driving down the road we saw the sign. Goodness, not only was it where he worked, but his name was out front "Selbst Dienst". Turning on two wheels, Mister Disney pulled into the parking lot and got us front row parking. After putting the roof and windows up we headed inside.

Greeted by the lovely hostess, we asked to Selbst Dienst.

ok - so where is this place?

(or am i missing something entirely here?!) :confused3

Welcome to CiCi's!

:worship: :cool1: :yay: :cheer2:

EXACTLY ... It was a flash back to the Joan River's album "What Becomes A Legend Most" when she goofs on airline stewardesses "Welcome Aboard, Welcome Aboard" You enter, "Welcome to CiCi's". You pick up a tray, "Welcome to CiCi's". You pick up a piece of pizza, "Welcome to CiCi's". Even when you're sitting in the booths and the bus staff comes by, "Welcome to CiCi's, Welcome to CiCi's" :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Welcome to CiCi's!

What could be better?

more to come......

Looks like you got one of the better Cici's with a salad bar! :thumbsup2

Some of the newer ones just have a bowl of lettuce with ranch dressing on it.:sad2:

Really, it's not a bad place for the price you pay.

oooohhhh--I'm so jealous!!
I see commercials for CiCi's all the time up here in NY, so I googled it & there isn't one close to me at all. Where is this place? We leave Friday for Disney & I would LOVE to go there to eat!

There is one on 535 just past I-4 on the left as you come from Disney.

But the best one in the area is on Palm Parkway.

From Disney.....

Leave property via Hotel Plaza Blvd, turn left at Crossroads. At the next light turn right. (There will be an Olive Garden on your right) It's in a large plaza about a mile down on the right hand side.:thumbsup2
