4, but I can take payback days for a 5th week if I choose.

Is it true everywhere that teachers don't get paid for winter and spring breaks? I realized they didn't get paid for the summer, but thought all of the other days off during the school calendar were paid.

I think it depends on how you set up your pay checks. You can get paid all year if you want (a lesser amount) or get paid for 10 months. Just depends on how they dish it out.

4 weeks vacation, 2 personal days, unlimited sick days (honor system). I've been with my company for six years.

I currently get four weeks. I have two more years until I am at the company 5 years and will get 5 weeks at that point.

I chose 2-3, but it is 3.

Depends how you look at it, it is either none or as many as I want!

I am a part time dentist - practicing 2 days a week. If I want time off, I don't have the office schedule patients for me. I have never actually had a contract saying how much time I could take off. I guess as much as I want since if I don't work then I don't get paid! So I could take a month off I suppose, but I wouldn't get a paycheck at all...

I get four weeks of vacation, plus 4 personal days which I use at Christmas time. I believe I also get an extra day a year once I hit my 10 year mark, a year from now.

I get 3 weeks vacation & 9 paid holidays. I'm on salary so any sick time or maternity leaves are paid for until released by Dr.

I've been with the same center for 6 ½ years. When I started, we had to wait 3 months before we could start receiving vacation days. After the 3 month probation period, we get 30 vacation days plus sick days, paid holidays and 2 personal days.

Last year it was changed to 25 vacation days for new employees.

I get 28 days vacation every year.

Vacation days are different from my sick time, personal days and holidays.

Start with 3 weeks vacation, 8 holidays, and 2 "floating holidays" -- basically 2 extra vacation days to use each year. After 2 years, you get 5 weeks. and my firm usually shuts down for a week to thank us for our hard work (public accountants)...this year it was the week after christmas. When I interned in the summer of 05, it was the week of 4th of july.

I did not vote as I would have selected "other" or "it varies".

DH and I own our own business.

In 2006 we took 8 weeks, 3 in Jan/Feb, 3 in Aug/Sept and 2 during XMAS/NY's! :goodvibes

BUT it varies from year to year. :upsidedow

In 2007, we have only taken 1 week (May) and have NO plans for a vacation the rest of this year! :sad1:

I am at 3 weeks now. We also get 5 sick days every year and 3 personal days. The only thing I dont like about the personal days is that you can't roll them over into the next year and have to use them before the end of the first pay period in Dec. or you forfeit them.

I'm a SAHM, but DH is in in the military. He gets 30 days leave a year. However, if we're gone over a weekend, he has to take those days as well. He can accrue up to 60 days in the till, and when he retires he can take terminal leave, using those 60 days. However, if he hasn't taken his leave by 30 Sept, he loses anything over 60 days. Right now, he's got 30 days use or lose, but he's in the Middle East and can't take it. I think he can get a waiver to carry the use or lose over because of this situation, but I'm not sure when he'll get to take it.

I voted for when I used to work for someone else.
I got 2 weeks vacation.

I am now in business for myself - so I will get as much as I can get. But since my store is new, that won't be much at all.
