........before having to make them up in the summer??

We're allowed two and usually that's what we get so we rarely make up time.:D

Our schools have to have 180 days per year so they schedule 185 days. This allows 5 days for snow cancellation. If we don't use 5...we get out sooner and if we use more than 5...they have to add them on to the end until schools have been open 180 days.
I would love to schedule my WDW vacation for as soon as we get out but not knowing how many snow days we'll get makes it impossible  and I think this year is gong to be quite a bit ;) i

Only THREE which is crazy because this is Maine!! The last superintendant of schools worked five in and that was more realistic. We end up going to school at least once during the year when they shouldn't because of no more snow days.

Our district builds no days in! Any school days are made up at the end of the year. It seems sometimes as if they should have a snow day when they don't -- I wonder if it's because they have to be made up. We tend to get a bit of snow around the suburbs of Chicago from time to time. I would prefer to have them built in.

I think we're 2, which is crazy considering we're in Michigan. One year the kids had to go until June 15th. It seemed like forever until they got out. Usually they get out around the 5th. We got alot of snow that year. I think they only went to school 2 weeks out of six in Dec./Jan. That was fun though!!:D

Zero as well, we will have to make up yesterdays somehow.

I believe we have 2 also.....and we normally get out around the 15th of June.

we add them onto June tenth......One year we were in school almost to the end of June......this is Maine......one thing our city does ....if they go to school in the morning ......there is not early release if a storm gets worse....unless the parents go and get them......we were a mill and shoe shop city and they made the rule because kids were going home to NO ONE.....even though we have no mills left......they still do this rule.......good one too.....

A BIG FAT ZERO!! They add up to 5 days to the end of the year with snow . . .if for some reason snow days go over the 5 days, they start taking away from April Vacation.

We've had 1 full snow day so far that they'll have to add on to June . . .

3. One on the Martin Luther King Holiday. One for President's Day and one on Holy Thursday.
We just lost the Martin Luther King day yesterday. :(
We are spoiled here the past few years. We have come to EXPECT those days off...

In Ohio we allow 5 snow days (it's the state law). Only once did we have to make up days and that was because school was delayed opening because of construction. I live in a small urban school district and we never delay and only cancel in rare circumstances.

NONE! We used to build in 2 but then people complained because if we had no snow days we still had to go the 2 extra days and we teachers were not getting paid.

No snow days here. We do have a couple of vacation days in the spring that they tend to cancel to make up our snow days every year. I don't know why they do it that way instead of just figuring them in to begin with.

Two I think....which we used up when schools were closed here because of the sniper. Today we are on snow day number TWO....summer is getting shorter and shorter!!!

BUUUT....there is NOTHING like the fun of a snow day!!!!:p

They build in four days here, if we use more than four, they take away from our April break.

I'm glad to see we are not the only idiotic school district that does not put any snow days into the calendar.

We'll have a bad storm in February and they will have school because they don't want to make it up! The bus drivers hate our Superintendent. Either that or they will send them to school and make them turn around for early dismissal to count it as a day in school.

None here either. The days are made up at the end of the school year, after four, they will be taken away from Spring break, April 16 & 21. We already have two to make up now, and it's not even winter yet!

We have ZERO built in. Really didn't need any the last 2 years. Our spring break is only the Friday before and the Monday after Easter this year. We HAD 2 weeks off at Chrsitmas but they have already taken 2 days of that back because 2 days we missed this week.
