How many sippies do you take with you on your trip? Do you take one to the parks or do you just use the cups there?

What do you pack for the toddlers on park days? How many diapers? Wipes? Snacks? Clothes?

Thanks

Shel

Our first trip was when our kids were 2 1/2 and 3 1/2. Neither was potty trained (my son potty trained right after we got home - and if we hadn't been leaving for Disney, probably could have done it two weeks earlier - but I didn't want accidents while he was distracted with rides).

We had one sippy cup apeice and would wash them out well after use. It was Feburary and cool, though - I wouldn't do that with August weather.

We only brought about five diapers and wipes into the park per kid. I'd suggest counting diaper changes now and then adding one or two (two if its inconsistant or you change them a lot).

I never brought a full change of clothes but did bring jackets. But I don't care too much if they are covered in food.

A few packages of fruit snacks.

I took 3 sippies - those 'disposable' ones that they sell in packs. I could have done with two. I took a sippie to the parks the first day or two, but he wanted a 'real' drink, so we ended up just using cups there or he got milk and drank it out of the bottle.
I took 4-5 diapers each day and never went through them all - but we did go back mid day, so he was changed there too. I have one of those small plastic wiped containers - they hold about an inch worth of wipes. I brought along a bigger package and refilled as needed.
I always had a package or two of snacks - crackers, cereal bar and/or animal crackers. My son was not as big of a snacker as he usually is - I think he was too distracted.
I didn't take clothes, but that is me - I never take extra clothes anywhere.
I think you really have to go with whatever kind of packer you usually are - follow what you do on any day long outing and you will be fine.

The Take N Toss cups are great - they are light, they stack inside each other, and you can either clean them or throw them away, whatever is easier at the time.

I took maybe four diapers with us, one of those little plastic wipe containers, a travel package of Wet Ones, and some "hop-hops" (Cheddar Bunnies) and raisins for emergency snacks. We bought everything else in the parks.

My kids drink soy milk, which gets nasty when it isn't refrigerated. So I took 4 disposable sippy cups per day, rinsed them out at the end of the day and then put them in a bag to take home and wash in the dishwasher. Sure, I had to buy around 30 sippy cups, but we've reused them since then.

For the parks, I've always packed plenty of wipes, 5-6 diapers, and found the disposable changing pads very handy (I took 6 and reused them as long as they weren't soiled). Disposable bibs are also great. And I pack a change of clothes too. Don't forget anti-bacterial wash or wipes -- lots of nasty germs going around in the parks.

My daughter was 13 months on our last trip and we didn't bring any sippy cups. Well, actually, we brought some of those take and toss cups but they stayed int eh luggage the whole trip. She just used the cups with a lid and straw that we got in the restaurants or food court. We threw them away when she was finished and never had to worry about cleaning them or carrying around smelly cups.

As far as diapers, I kept about 5 diapers in the diaper bag, plus an extra 1 or 2 in the stroller just in case my husband and I separated and the one with the baby didn't have the bag or something like that. For wipes I just took one of those big bags of Huggies wipes, with I think about 300 wipes in it, and then took a handful out of that bag, maybe 20 wipes or so, and put them in a Ziploc in the diaper bag. I'd check to make sure we had enough in there every morning and throw in a few more when needed.

For snacks we mostly took those Gerber Graduates Mini Fruits and Veggies, the freeze-dried kind. We'd also buy her a piece of fresh fruit every morning and hand that out when needed. Other than that we bought her snacks if she needed more.

Clothing-wise we always had a sweater in the diaper bag (trip was in April 18-29) and then usually a long sleeve/pants outfit. It usually got cooler at night, cool enough for pants, and we didn't always go back to the room mid-day to change.

we brought the take & toss sippy cups - my DD figured out she could stick her front two teeth in the top (spout part) and get the lid off, so if I were you I would definately try them at home first (which I didn't)

We'll have two toddlers (17 months and 28 months) sept 22-oct1 we're taking:
one complete outfit each (including socks) - this is more for throwing up, poopy blowouts, getting soaked than anything else.
2 spare pairs of robeez
5 take and toss straw cups
4 diapers (planning an afternoon break)
rain jackets
a few snack size boxes of dried fruit
2 poo packs (disposable changing pad, wipes, diaper, sanitizer wipes all in one ziplock for easy grabbing)
sun hats
2 table covers (we have an allergic kid, so avoiding other people's crumbs is important)
two bottles of drinking water (as much for the adults as the kids)
Probably another loose baggie of wipes for misc.
a travel-sized hand sanitizer

I think that's it. We'll probably take less or more as the days go on and we see what we're using between us.

Okay where do you find the take and toss cups? Who makes them? I can't remember seeing them in TRU or the supermarket.

I buy take and toss cups at the local target, because they're cheap there. I've seen them at walmart, TRU, the local grocery stores, etc. They're usually in with the sippy cups. I actually ordered them from drugstore.com for this trip, because I wanted 6 packages of them, and Target has had trouble keeping the straw variety in stock.

Dawnball, I'm just curious about the spare pairs of Robeez. You're talking about those soft-soled shoes, right? Why the extra pairs of them in the diaper bag? We did bring those for Madison to wear in the hotel room (since she's known to remove her socks), but we didn't bring them with us to the parks. Just wondering if that's something I should do with the next baby we have!

Yup, robeez are soft soled shoes. We're taking them as a spare pair, in case her regular shoes get soaked and need time to dry out. They pack small, aren't damaged by getting wet and provide more protection than sock feet. It helps that both kids are in the same size diapers, and the same size robeez, too.

Target sells Robeez knock-offs now. They are really great and under $13. Much cheaper than Robeez.

This thread is great! It has really given me ideas on what we need to take, what we can skip, and what I hadn't thought of!

Keep the ideas coming!

Dawnball, that is a good idea. It would have been great the day we took Madison to Epcot to play in the fountains. We let her go barefoot, but I would have much rather had something on her feet. We actually got her baby pool socks this summer, they're from Speedo and they are like fitted socks with a thicker, reinforced sole. They also have an SPF of 40. So I'll have to remember those things on our next trip!

My son just turned 2 1/2 and at the beginning of last week, we threw away all the sippy cups. I did not want to have to drag those around and wash anything. He now drinks from a big cup, or a cup with a lid and straw. He's been just great with out the sippys. He's not allowed to drink in the car, (It's only 2 months old) and at home only drinks at the kitchen table, so this hasn't been much of an issue for us. He's soooooo ready to be potty trained, but I decided to wait till we get home, as I'm not going to drag him all over WDW going to the bathroom. So as soon as we get home, that's what we'll work on. We'll take around 4 diapers in the parks, with wipes, and some kind of towel or something for a changing pad, and small snacks and that's it.

They are made by The First Years and you can get them at Target, Walmart, etc. They come a couple to a pack, and you can get them with sippy-type lids, bottle nipples, or straws. I got some today for our trip at walmart and they had pooh on them. I havent seen the pooh ones before.

Dom't forget to pack a few small toys to play with while waiting in the lines. My little one gets bored so quickly! Last year when we went I took one cup with us. I took a very small, travel size bottle of dish soap to rinse out the cup after each use. Target does have some of the take and toss cups with pooh on them. I might pick up a few for our next trip!

My daughter is 20 months and we brought along 2 sippy cups. Surprisingly, she wasn't very hungry during our vacation so she just had some cheerios for snack.. I think she was too busy having fun to eat.

Diapers... I brought 3 along with us since the most we stayed at a Park was 4 hours before going back to the hotel to rest.

Do the Take-n-Toss sippy cups have valves or do they leak? Also do any of the restaurants offer sippy cups with meals?

They don't have valves, but they have to really be shaken to leak. If you use them too many times they start to leak. They're really easy to clean though.

My ds does pretty well with a straw and cup, but he hasn't figured out not to tilt the cup yet, so we have to stick with sippies.
