not for this case, but are deposits transferrable to a different itinerary? i seem to remember that there have been cases in the past where they were but that may have been due to trip cancellations.

It would have cost more than the price drop to cancel and rebook. This is our fifth ABD trip and we have never seen a price drop before. We will still enjoy the trip and will not book another one right away when the trips come out. We are DVC and get opening day pricing so we will wait to book unless it is a very popular trip.

The Value of the $ has dropped & also Europeans are Not travelling to U.S.A but aeroplanes Co are lowering Prices

The current policy is that if you cancel an ABD after 14 days (but before Paid in Full date) you can either transfer the deposit to a different trip, or bank it to use for a different trip in the future, as long as you book the different trip within two years of the original booking date. You can only do that one time. But the different trip is NOT considered a new booking, so it's not eligible for any new booking discounts.
