No FOOL-ing around the April 2025 W.I.S.H. Thread

Rolling into self-care Sunday feeling better than I have for quite a while. The adjustments yesterday made a big difference, plus I got a new massage gun that has a long-curved handle so I can reach my back and shoulders better and I used it a lot last night.

And it is sunny this morning, hallelujah for that! There will be a good amount of time spent outside today soaking it up.

Happy Monday everyone.

The focus this week is going to be all on protein. My muscles aren't going to fully repair if I don't feed them right, and I want to be a really good shape for vacation, so I can do all the things and not waddle around like an old lady.

I'm so happy it's spring break! Last week was so hectic with doing report cards, hosting a family event at school, and crazy student behaviors.

Palm Sunday at church started out joyous and celebratory and quickly took a sad turn. I'm used to experiencing the sad days leading up to Easter Sunday on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Palm Sunday used to be about praise and joy. it was unexpected.

While I'm off this week, I have a lot of spring cleaning to do. I kicked off this morning by waiting in line at the post office for over 30 minutes so I could mail my federal tax payment. I'm glad it's done. I grabbed a passport application so that I could verify my identity on Election Day now that married women who took their husband's names are about to lose our right to vote. My old passport is expired, and I just want to get all of my ducks in a row.

I'm allowing myself treats this week and will get back to dieting on Easter Monday.

Motivation is to keep moving forward one step at a time. Work is hectic and even with vacation this week activities are piling up. DS12 is alter servicing every day Thursday-Sunday which will include rehearsals for the Tridium masses.
And sending DH to city hall on Friday to try to sort out our pool permit.
Have to pick up groceries for Easter dinner between Friday and Saturday…I can get most items curbside pick up but I need to go in to get green beans so will have to figure out that timing.
I know eating habits won’t be great this week but I did block off exercise time at least three days this week. Did a one mile walk at work today. It was beautiful out so I hit the walking trail instead of the gym

What a beautiful location to walk.

I am absolutely exhausted after work. For me, the trick is to keep moving…get dinner ready and anything else that must be done, because once I sit down, I start dozing off. At bedtime, I have to drag myself upstairs and into the shower before I collapse with a good book in bed. It’s been this way for many years.

WOO HOO! I am enjoying some much needed “Me Time” during this spring break. I still have two more days to myself.
WOO HOO! I am accomplishing things at my own pace.
WOO HOO! Easter is on it’s way!

Note to self: Do not store spring/summer clothing in same container as your bathing suits unless you want ALL of your clothes to smell like a swimming pool!

I will be adding to my to-do list:
“Wash EVERY item of spring/summer clothing this week.”

🙄

Woohoo... another day in the office is complete. I love the commute and am so pleased that I made this choice for myself. Even the walk from the office to the city ferry dock, which is 17 blocks, was better yesterday because it was familiar and I knew how long it would take, so didn't have to rush. And it was another 15,000 step day.

Woohoo... I committed to myself that after work I would do one household chore type thing before I collapsed, but I got four things done.

Woohoo... a couple more days of sunshine are forecast.

I'm thankful for Easter and all of its miracles.
I'm thankful that in the midst of a chaotic time in our country and world, my family is safe and healthy.
I'm thankful to be off this week in order to get spring cleaning done without interference.
I'm thankful to be off this week to do the copious amounts of laundry in order to make the switch from winter to spring.

I am thankful for another day of sunshine and for the longer days to fully enjoy it.

I am thankful for a better night's sleep last night. Between my brain not shutting off and my feet being achy and cold some nights are rough, but last night was good.

I'm thankful to be hosting Easter this weekend so I will start to build up memories here.
