How Many Rides on Pirates of the Caribbean are Enough? Now Completed 11/4/10

Thanks! It really needs an update. The video before you go on the ride is so late eighties, early nineties. It's so funny to think "I used to dress like that???"

:lmao: I agree it really does need an update I hope its open when I go next year! Star Tours -- Star Tours will be closing on September 8, 2010. The attraction will be updated and reopened sometime in 2011. The new experience will be in 3-D, an all-new ride that includes many of the new worlds and elements from the more recent Star Wars movies. I found this on all ears

So glad that Boo's rest did her some good. I know that made everyone feel a little bit better! :cool1:

She can be a handful when she is tired, that's for sure!

How long will star tours be closed for? What a great update! :cool1:

I think almost a year.

Oooh, is it getting a refurb??? I hope so!

YES!

I found this Star Tours- closes for rehab 9/8/10 but doesn't say for how long!

Thanks

Yay for 3D! :cool2: I can't wait! I'll be going next year in June, so I hope it will be open by then. Of course, if it's been refurbed, you won't be able to touch it w/out a FP, I bet! Thanks for the info!

TO say we were tired is an understatement. Sweetie, Slugger, and I made out way from Star Tours onto the Rock and Roller Coaster. My son, who again, hates roller coasters, said he wanted to ride it again. My daughter, who loves roller coaster hated it :confused3.

We rode the bus back to POR (No special bus for us like little Princess Boo got) and then we went straight for the food court for lunch. Slugger had one of a million pizzas he would eat, and Sweetie and I split our make your own pasta: penne with shrimp and marinara.

We got back to the room and then called dh so he could stop swimming and we could take a nap

We had dinner reservations at Cape May, so we decided to take the boat to DTD, shop a little, and then take the bus to the Beach Club.

The boat ride:

At Downtown Disney, there was only one thing I wanted. I've been eyeing a coffee mug since Legomom posted a picture of it from her trip report in 2008. I'd been to Disney twice since, and never gotten the mug. What is it? Well, I got a picture of it once I got home. And I must say, it is my favorite mug:

After that, we had dinner at Cape May, which is delicious, and eveyone should try it once. We then took the bus over to Magic Kingdom. We didn't stay long, but the kids wanted one thing (and I did, as well).

We wanted to ride this:

On the way to the next ride, we got a picture of the kids:

Which led us here:

Tired from a long day, we decided to go back to the room and get some sleep. We had rope drop at Animal Kingdom the next day!

And if you are keeping count, that's 3 rides on Pirates of the Caribbean!

I agree--it's going to be wild.

You have to do Cape May--that is my daughter's favorite.

I love the mug. It is way too cute.

Thanks! It's a great mug!

I'm sad there are no food pics! I guess I'll have to wait till Dec lol. 3 times on POTC..I wonder what the final number is?!

It's kind of hard to do food pics with five and everyone a different direction, lol. We'll get them in Dec, though, because Sweetie is all into the Dis herself, lol.

I bought that mug for my best friend when we went last summer, it's her tea mug at work!

Cool! I love that mug! I eyed it through three trips--it was my only must-get item this time around.

I'm in awe of how much you accomplished before lunch! :worship: I bow down to your mad touring skills. Good for you!

And who can walk past POTC without riding, seriously? :lmao:

LOL, I accomplish a lot before lunch; not so much afterwards. Of course, lunch always seemed to be around 12:45/1:00, but that's a good bit before 1 every day.

And no one should ever walk by POTC without riding. Ever.

Monday, May 31, 2010--Memorial Day and Boo and Daddy Day

Yes, you read right. Boo and Daddy day. We get up bright and early this morning and I take the short walk to the food court for coffee after my shower. We had bought breakfast items from Walmart, so we grabbed breakfast, a couple of bottles of water, and made our way to the bus stop.

Today was a momentous occasion. Animal Kingdom is dh's favorite park. It holds Boo's favorite ride. Daddy and Boo were going to Animal Kingdom for their day.

Sure, Sweetie is beside them over there, but does she really look included?

Of course, Boo and Daddy don't lose us just yet. All five of us have a similar destination:

Poor slugger--he looks scared to death!

Fastpasses in hand, we all have the same second location in mind--Kali River Rapids.

My kids favorite part of the ride? Getting people wet at the end of it.

At the monkeys (okay, Tink, not really monkeys), we split up.

IMG_0792.jpg

DH and Boo went off to parts unknown, while Sweetie, Slugger, and I were heading off for the safari. The queue line was too long, and it wasn't time for another fastpass, so we headed off to the attraction we visited the most. No, not Pirates of the Caribbean. This one:

Note behind Slugger--it's the bathroom. :rotfl2:

Waiting for fastpasses, we decided to walk over and get a snack with snack credits and play on the drums. I wanted to give them a little freedon that morning.

A sweet lady offered to take out picture. . .

And the obligatory picture of the Tree of Life

By that time, it was time to get a fastpass, so we gathered ours for the safari. Two sets in hand, we knew if we walked back over to Expedition Everest, it would be time for a ride.

IMG_0811.jpg

It must have been 10am or so, and I know this morning we did not make rope drop exactly, so not as fruitful of a morning, but a nice relaxing one!

Coming up--a photopass op, and stuck on the Safari.

Animal Kingdom is such a lovely park. Glad to see you're having a relaxing morning!

I just love AK as a morning adventure. Before the crowds and the heat of Florida afternoons set in, that is. We're (DH and I) are not big Roller Coaster people, so I know we'll be skipping EE on our 2011 trip. But, I am a water ride junkie, so KRR is SO MY RIDE!!!

Nothing wrong with a commando morning and relaxed rest of the day. :thumbsup2

::yes::

I love your Animal Kingdom update. As always, you take the best photos! :goodvibes I love seeing the park through your eyes and the eyes of your kids.

When AK first opened I didn't love it....but over the years it has grown on us. Sounds like a wonderful day spent there.....I love FOTLK show....I never miss it, even if I have to go myself:confused3
