How Many Rides on Pirates of the Caribbean are Enough? Now Completed 11/4/10

Animal Kingdom is such a lovely park. Glad to see you're having a relaxing morning!

Thanks! I love AK--it is such a calm place to be!

I just love AK as a morning adventure. Before the crowds and the heat of Florida afternoons set in, that is. We're (DH and I) are not big Roller Coaster people, so I know we'll be skipping EE on our 2011 trip. But, I am a water ride junkie, so KRR is SO MY RIDE!!!

DH loves KRR. He, too is a water ride junkie, and loves to get wet himself.

Nothing wrong with a commando morning and relaxed rest of the day. :thumbsup2

::yes::

I knew you'd appreciate that statement.

I love your Animal Kingdom update. As always, you take the best photos! :goodvibes I love seeing the park through your eyes and the eyes of your kids.

Ah, shucks. :flower3: That was not even my good camera--I knew we'd be riding KRR, so my DSLR was locked in the room. The kids are the reason for the parks, though, and I love seeing their expressions even later.

When AK first opened I didn't love it....but over the years it has grown on us. Sounds like a wonderful day spent there.....I love FOTLK show....I never miss it, even if I have to go myself:confused3

We didn't do FOTLK--we should have, but we didn't. :confused3 Oh, well, a good reason to go back!

haha, thanks for mentioning me!!! I wonder why you got stuck?!!!!

:goodvibes I had to mention my ex-cm buddy!

And you'll be on the cliff for about 24 hours figuring out why we got stuck.

Can't wait to hear more.... I wish we could make it to a rope drop.. it looks like you get sooooo much in, in the morning,,,, @ 10:00, most of the time we're still trying to get out of the room. I love the pics. It's getting me excited, and can't wait to go back.

It looks like you guys had a great morning in DHS and AK! Sorry Boo wasn't feeling well but it's great that the rest helped!

Love the mug! So cute!

Love the report so far

Thanks and :welcome:

You do get a lot done in the morning, but I can totally get a family who can't get up early in the morning, too. Especially when dealing with time zone differences.

Thanks. We love AK, and Boo needed sleep. She is typically tough to deal with without it.

Leaving the fastpass line, we headed off back towards Expedition Everest. On the way, we caught a Photopass photographer. . .

We used those fastpasses, then, knowing we still had time, went on to Dinosaur. About that time, DH called to give me an update on Boo and Daddy day. Apparently, they saw It's Tough to be a Bug, Boo talked her Daddy into riding Expedition Everest again, and they had gotten a fastpass for the Safari before they were going to go to Flame Tree BBQ for lunch.

We were heading over to lunch, as it was 11am by that time, and everyone was hungry. We went to Yak and Yeti cs, and sat and talked for a long time. Finally, we decided that it was time to go use our fastpasses at the safari, so we did that and headed out.

We were on the safrai ride in 10 minutes time, but our safari took almost the two weeks the safari is supposed to take before the detour. One may ask why?

Our only answer--the giraffes.

Time and time again, our driver talked about how the animals were much closer to the ride than typical. We saw plenty of animals that morning. When we got to the savanna, though, a giraffe decided he needed to put his beck end in the road while the front end ate breakfast. We took plenty of pictures, and the safari driver let it be for about 10 minutes before he called in the animal keepers. Apparently this happens enough that they have a truck with food in it that tastes better than the grass. Before long a truck drives up and gets the giraffe to go on. But I got some fantastic pictures of the animal:

Hello, people!

Also, elephants!

Having spent 45 minutes total on the ride, it was time to go on. Of course, I caught another photopass photographer before we left.

We hopped the bus, and were back before Daddy and Boo, who were still eating lunch. By the time they got to the safari, even the fastpass line was ridiculous, so they never used their fastpasses that day.

I love that Tinkerbell in the Photopass picture. Is that new? Do they only have her at the Animal Kingdom? Great giraffe pictures! That is interesting they call in some animal keepers if they stay too long in the road. I've always wondered exactly what they do. I bet that was one backed up Safari ride!

I think that TB in the PP pic is new!! I have only seen baby Simba at AK..it's very cute!!

In honor of your X amount of times on POTC..I'm watching POTC right now!!! The first one of course bc IMOP it's the best!

I love that picture of your daugher with Tink in her hand, I've never seen that one before!

Great KS pics too, that giraffe one is amazing

I can't get over the giraffe.

"Pardon me while I munch on these lovely leaves....what...you don't like my behind? I think it's perfectly gorgeous...you may take photos of me, peons..." :rotfl2:

Yes, I make up these scenarios in my head.

Sounds like a great day, with a wonderful lunch at Yak and Yeti, nice and relaxing. Just my speed! :thumbsup2

I don't remember Tinkerbell ever being at Animal Kingdom, and the photopass photographer seemed real anxious to try them out.

LOL--I need to buy the DVDs. That way I can see Johnny Depp whenever I want.

Some very nice photos!

Thanks!

That's almost the exact same scenerio I think of!

It was a good, relaxing day.

I love that giraffe pic too.

What a great CM to help your daughter like that. :thumbsup2

You got me wondering if I should try this photopass thing next time.

Photopass is wonderful--especially if you do like me and get in a share.

When are you planning to go again (you can just give a season ;) )

I just love those giraffes on the Safari ride. That one photo of the giraffe's head is so cute! I have one similar to that, which makes my love of elephants pale in comparison now to the giraffes!

The Tink picture is just too cute. That must be a new pose. I love it!

I love that giraffe picture, as well. It just seems like he doesn't care either way--he's gonna get what he (or she) wants.

No idea when it will be possible again. Our 1st trip was the week before Thanksgiving. Loved the Xmas decorations. Our 2nd trip was Oct for Halloween season which was great fun too. I think next time I would like to see Xmas decorations again. I have not seen the Osbourne lights and would like to do so.

The lights are beautiful.

Right now my cousin is there and he keeps posting pictures of the parks. It's killing me looking at them, but at the same time, I love looking at them.
