How Many Rides on Pirates of the Caribbean are Enough? Now Completed 11/4/10

Hello Amanda :wave2:

I seemed to miss the ending of your PTR but here I am reading your TR! :goodvibes

Such a sweet DH to make Mickey Pancakes to kick off your vacation. The delay would have drove me insane as well.

I want to get the 4 parks 1 world cd--it is on my wish list for the trip. Do you happen to remember how much it costs?

Wow! You got a lot done in the first hour of the park openning. :goodvibes I hope we have the same luck as you do! pixiedust:

Wonderful picture of Mickey from Spectro! I'm looking forward to seeing the parade again.

Poor Boo! I am glad she felt better after resting. :thumbsup2

I have to say using my Tinker Bell mug sure makes me happy too. :goodvibes

Cape May: was it the Clam Bake dinner? We made an ADR recently for there and I have say it I think it will be a great fit for my large group. My DH in particular loves crab legs and key lime pie. :goodvibes

Great pictures from the safari of the giraffes and elephants.

Boy do I know exactly what you mean.

:flower3: I'm guilty of it, too.

Hello Amanda :wave2:

No worries--I'm missing out on your PTR, which I promise to rectify when I don't have a 2hour drive for work in the morning.

That was great--the pancakes. The delay, not so much.

I'm thinking $25 or $26?

Just keep your mind on the touring and it will be a piece of cake!

Wonderful picture of Mickey from Spectro! I'm looking forward to seeing the parade again.

During the Dec trip, we are going on the 18th just so Sweetie and I can see Spectro. That's one of those CDs I listen to all the time, too. :thumbsup2

Poor Boo! I am glad she felt better after resting. :thumbsup2

Aw, thanks!

I have to say using my Tinker Bell mug sure makes me happy too. :goodvibes

Isn't it great how the Disney mugs bring such joy to an otherwise dismal morning sometimes?

Cape May: was it the Clam Bake dinner? We made an ADR recently for there and I have say it I think it will be a great fit for my large group. My DH in particular loves crab legs and key lime pie. :goodvibes

It was--I've done the clam bake dinner twice now and I have to say that both dinners were spectacular, but the server that night was close to the best of the entire trip.

Great pictures from the safari of the giraffes and elephants.

Thanks!

Those giraffe pics are amazing. We've only seen them form a distance, but I can imagine, that after seeing them for 5-10 minutes.. you want to move on to the next thing. You're getting me so excited about our upcoming trip... seeing all of your pics. I am looking forward to AK, and Yak n Yeti, which we ate at for the first time on our last trip, one of our favorite CS places. I read somewhere that Flame TreeBBQ was going to be closed for refurb the week we're there, so that helps us make up our mind. Also, the safari is so relaxing, and always fun to search out the animals. Our all time favorite is the FOTLK... I just feel like that is such an amazing cast of high quality performers who do this every day to bring the magic to life. can't wait. Did you get the photo pass CD? We bought it last time, and were debating on whether it was worth the $100, to do it again. Some of the photographers got good shots, but most of them took a picture with my personal camera too, so we got just about the same pics, so I'm not sure.

We did a photopass share--you can still do one over at the Tour Guide Mike boards.

Ok, I'm slow on the uptake. What is FOTLK?
lol--Festival of the Lion King

wonderful Giraffe pics! It sounds like a really fun, almost lazy morning but yet you hit all the main things! A perfect park morning in my book!

It was a great morning--we did get a lot done, too. Animal Kingdom is perfect for that type of pace.

Wow! Your morning at AK sounds so nice. You got a lot done, but didn't seem to be running like mad from place to place! :thumbsup2

After a perfectly beautiful morning, we sat in the room with something burning in our pockets.

The return fastpasses. Remember, we got them when Space Mountain was down on Saturday. Dinner that night was over in the Magic Kingdom area, so we took the bus over there.

Of course, we went straightaway over to Tomorrowland and literally ran to Space Mountain. After Space, the wait time for Buzz was 15 min. We got in line.

It's a good thing we were really early for dinner. Buzz Lightyear went down mid-ride. We were stopped in one place, and Dan continually kept hitting a light switch that gave him a gazillion points. (That's a number--I saw it on the reward poster in Toy Story Mania).

After the defunct Buzz Lightyear, we decided to go for a slower pace. . .the people mover.

Apparently, Boo and Daddy day was not over.

After the ride, we hopped on the monorail (note the absence of Pirates! :scared1: )

We were 30 minutes early for our 5pm ADR at

And apparenly, 5pm is the first ADR time, so we sat in the lobby of the Contemporary, where Boo finally took a nap. :rotfl:

For those of you who have never been, when you get to Chef Mickey's they take you to a waiting area to take a picture:

It's a ridiculously expensive picture--really not worth the $30 for it.

We bought it. :rotfl2:

Well, it was our first trip.

We had a delightful dinner, with a not so nice server. He was not happy we were unwilling to allow his table to be turned over until we saw Mickey.

Sorry, man--Mickey was our last character, and it was the reason for being there.

The kids were happy to see Pluto and Minnie:

The reason we had to wait for Mickey, was the whole napkin thingy. Slugger looks absolutely delighted!

20100531041.jpg

Maybe Mickey took so long to get to us because he needed to replenish the quickly dwindling roast beef.

I don't know, but we did finally see him.

Having had a great, slower day, we went back to the room. It had been a long day.

What do you mean you didn't go on POTC? :lmao:

I've never actually gotten stuck on the Buzz ride for that long, but DH had a similar experience once where he was able to time a shot and get a really high score.

Sorry about the server. Usually if there's a character we haven't seen, we'll mention it, but I haven't run into that in a long time.

And hello? They call if Chef Mickey's for a reason! People want to see the mouse! :goodvibes

Glad you didn't let the not-so-nice waiter deter you from waiting for Mickey! You are so right - he was the main reason for being there and there would be no way I would have left w/out seeing him.

I know--that's the whole reason.

We actually planned on going back to Aniaml Kingdom that night, but never made it.

I can't believe I walked into MK without riding POTC. That's usually a given. But it's no where in my pictures or notes, so we can't have.

Must have been a newbie-CM.....hey, YOU....the restaurant you work at is called "Chef M-I-C-K-E-Y-S"...remember???? "No, I'm sorry, we really DON'T want to see the character that the restaurant is NAMED for......"

Jeesh!! :rotfl2:

LOL--That was my thinking exactly! We really did enjoy dinner that night, though. Silly server notwithstanding.

The food at chef Mickey is so-so in my opinion but we liked that Mickey and Friends come to see you at your table. The napkin thing is a cute idea!Another great update!

I'm back from vacation and all caught up! Looks like you guys had a great few days. Sorry to hear the allergies hit Boo! It is hard when they hit like that. You guys got a ton done at AK. We only spent one day at AK in Dec. and it was after MVMCP and we didn't get anything done that day. :) Sorry to hear about Chef Mickey's. Crazy! Dude, why do you think we pay those crazy prices for - the characters and to skip Mickey I don't think so. :lmao:

Did I see a PTR started in your siggie? I plan to be right over! Christmastime is my absolute favorite! Hoping we will be back for Christmas 2011.
