How Many Rides on Pirates of the Caribbean are Enough? Now Completed 11/4/10

I really enjoy the TTA, except I liked it more before the renovation. Oh, well! It's still Disney, so there's not much to complain about! :goodvibes

Great update - love the green Disney shirts, by the way!

We love the TTA, it's such a nice break to get off your feet but still enjoy all the magic around you;)

Beautiful PP pics....you all look great!!!!

All caught up! That sounds like a supremely stressful start to the vacation but between hula hoops, the perfect room assignement and dumbo, you seem back on track!

Wow that was a huge confession!!!! I have been riding TTA for as long as I can remember! The new speech is not great at all. I wish you could have heard the old one :( Sometimes change is not good!

I will confess, I had never eaten at Cosmic Rays until I did my Disney College Program. On our first day that we had our IDs, my roommates wanted to eat there and I was skeptical but ended up really liking it and it has sooo many choices!

You know what my favorite thing about this update is? In that first photo, your husband is looking at the kids and the smile on his face is just priceless. It gives me warm fuzzies, that is some pure joy right there. :goodvibes

I can't believe you'd never been on the People Mover! I love that ride. I could sit on it for hours, I swear, and be perfectly contented.

I love the look on your son's face on the Speedway. Remember, driving is serious business! :thumbsup2

The TTA is a must do for me. It is such a great break and relaxing few moments. When my grandchildren were young, it was a great place for a refreshing nap. (They will usually let you go around more than once!) This year, it was a nice refuge from an afternoon thundershower - two trips around and the rain was gone!

Beautiful pictures. I've never done a rope drop, but that looks like so much fun! I can't wait to see more!

Rope drop gets you through the morning so quickly!

I can't believe that was your first time on the TTA! I love that ride! Though my boys didn't want to ride it this past trip. It's such a nice break, and it's so nice to know there is a ride in Tomorrowland with virtually no line. (Though I suppose Carousel of Progress fits that criteria too.)

The Carousel of Progress does fit that criteria as well. I found that I loved the TTA, especially at night!

Thanks about the shirts--it's their 3rd Disney appearance. I think when my daughter and I go next year, they'll have to be retired.

Thanks! The People Mover is great for a break within the park. Get off of it and go to the Carousel of Progress and it makes for a great rest time.

All caught up! That sounds like a supremely stressful start to the vacation but between hula hoops, the perfect room assignement and dumbo, you seem back on track!

It was a stressful start, but it all worked out!

We love Cosmic Ray's. It gets real crowded, though, but I think all of the places are crowded at mealtimes, anyway.

You know what my favorite thing about this update is? In that first photo, your husband is looking at the kids and the smile on his face is just priceless. It gives me warm fuzzies, that is some pure joy right there. :goodvibes

I didn't notice that one, but you are right! He's a great Daddy. :goodvibes

I can't believe you'd never been on the People Mover! I love that ride. I could sit on it for hours, I swear, and be perfectly contented.

I have begun to feel that way about it, too.

:rotfl: That it is.

It does make for a great break during the day!

My favorite time of day is, oddly enough, night. After our break in our wonderfully fabulous room, we headed back to Magic Kingdom for our 4:30 dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern. Our first stop was to use those fastpasses at Space Mountain. No need on eating, then going to Space. . . .

The wait time there was 15 minutes, so we rode, got off, and got back in line, when everything went wrong. The ride went down, but they gave us a fastpass that expried on Monday.

We went on to dinner at Liberty Tree. That's when the skies upened up and it poured for a while. We bought our ponchos. I know we rode rides, but it was raining too much to pull out the DSLR.

It didn't matter, though, as long as I had my camera out for my favorite parade:

Perhaps one of my favorite pictures from the trip:

It was at this point that dh and the two youngest left. Sweetie and I were staying for Extra Magic Hours, (which I took no pictures during). But not before Wishes:

After that, we rode rides throughout the park, starting in Tomorrowland and working our way around and finishing with Pirates of the Caribbean (and if you are keeping count--that's ride number 2!)

I love evenings in the Magic Kingdom! Doesn't get much better than that:goodvibes

evening at MK is my favorite time!!! It's so pretty!

Your spectro and Wishes pics are fabulous!

I've even read somewhere that if you're a mom and need a place to discreetly feed you infant, the people mover is good for that.

What better way to cap off the evening than with a ride on Pirates?

You know, I typed that without even thinking, that's the last ride I rode with my mom, and I remember a night time ride I did with her on it as well. I'm having one of those days. Anyway, I'm keeping track, that's two! :thumbsup2

What a great day at Disney you had! Started great, ended great, rides on the Space Mountain, Spectro, Pirates. It just doesn't get much better than that. :goodvibes

I'm thinking...

1. There is no cap on how many rides on POTC. I might argue, never enough.
2. I LOVE that your DH made Mickey Pancakes
3. Fabulous Spectro pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great update love your pictures! I have been to WDW 5 times and neveronce saw the parade. Another thing to add to the list!

Thanks so much!

I can see that. It's a long enough ride, and you're typically just there with your family.

Thanks, TK--I remember that ride being directly up front, and Sweetie saying, "This should be the ride for Kat's mom." :goodvibes

Sunday, May 30, 2010--Day 2

One might wonder what could make my kids laugh like this:

The answer to that question is this:

20100530011.jpg

The morning started well enough. We waited a short amount of time for the bus and actually ended up with this kind of bus ride:

20100530002.jpg

Funnily enough, in December, I started a morning on an empty bus!

We rode to Hollywood Studios. Boo had had some allergy problems the night before, so I gave her a dose of Benadryl. Within 30 minutes of waiting for the park to open, Dan had to take her back to the room. She never saw the Storm Troopers. He sat on the bench waiting for the bus and a CM came to him and asked him what was wrong. Dan told her Boo had been up late with allergy problems and was not feeling well. As soon as he finished the story, the cast member, who evidently worked in transportation, called a bus that took them directly back to their stop at POR. This is one of the reasons why we love Disney, and continure to go.

Slugger, Sweetie, and I meanwhile stayed at the park, waiting for rope drop. We don't go to FP Toy Story Mania. We do rd, then go directly to the TSM standby line. On this morning, we were in and out of Toy Story Mania by 9:15, and people who were in line for opening with us were still in the fast pass line. Literally.

With Mr. Potato Head

I love the Barrel of Monkeys everywhere.

20100530035.jpg

We then made it over to the Rock N Roller Coaster to get a set of Fastpasses and then to Starring Rolls for breakfast. On the way, we grabbed a photopass photographer. . .

After breakfast, it was time for us to look for some Star Wars characters. And we found the mother (or father) of all. . .

Coming up. . .finishing the morning. . .

CUTE SWW pics! I am so sorry Boo had a bad night and had to go back, I hope she feels better soon.

Gotta love an empty bus.

Too bad Boo had a rough night. I hope she gets to join you later. I just love the Stormtrooper opening show. So funny. We went straight for TSM standby line this past trip and I agree that is the way to go. That fastpass line is crazy! Can't wait to hear more about SWW!

Is it wrong for me to be jealous of the kids getting their photo taken with Darth? :lmao:

I'm super excited to read about this portion of your trip because DH and I have discussed whether or not we want to brave Star Wars weekends. Our son is just starting to really get into the movies now, and I think he'd like it. Plus, I love Disney in May.

Anyway, what a great morning! That many rides and a meet and greet that quickly! I'm impressed. :thumbsup2
