How many "resort days" do you do?

We don't do resort days either. We are not lounge around type people, not there is anything wrong with those that are. That being said, we will sneak in a trip to other resorts if it is raining or we feel the need for a potential stay on our next trip. Other than that, we are either at the parks or DTD every day. Our trips are anywhere from 7-14 days.

Except for the water parks.
We go to spend time in the parks, not the Resort.
I can hang out at a resort that's not 1100 miles away any time. :)

For our 7 day trips we usually do one resort day. The kids like to relax at the pool that day.

We actually spend more time at the resort than we do the parks. Some days we don't even go to the parks, but when we do, it's only for a couple of hours and then it's back to the resort for relaxation. Like a pp, the resort is more to us than a place to sleep as we like to relax and enjoy the amenities it has to offer. We still enjoy the parks, but the resort is where we spend most of our time. Other than planning a sit down dinner for every night of our trip, we don't do any other planning. With that said, we haven't been to Disney since FP+ was implemented, so it will be interesting for our next trip as we hardly know which park we're going to a day before, let alone 2 months before. We usually just wing it and go with the flow depending on what mood we're in.

That is us as well these days. We definitely spend more time at the resort than in the parks. However, we drop into a park for a couple of hours most days.

Our 'rope drop till we drop' days are long gone......we like to just relax and smell the roses.

Last fall, we had 5 day PH tickets. That was way too much for us. After ten plus trips to Disney, we started to miss our resort days. On resort days we do a lot of nothing, like resort hopping and pool time in the morning. The plan for the upcoming trip is 2 day base tickets and one special event ticket. I think we will be very busy, when you throw in the mini golf and Disney Quest vouchers. In addition, we have some water parks entitlements from previous non-expiring tickets.

We usually spend 8 nights during our vacation and take a "breather" day somewhere in the middle to give our feet a break. It's usually the day after Animal Kingdom (which has lots of hills and for some reason we always tend to walk crisscross around that park). We end up using that day to go to DTD if we're up to it, go to another resort if we're craving something that their dining hall offers, or maybe a dip in the pool if the weather is nice.

We have 12 days planned in August and out of those 12 days 3 will be resort days. We will sleep in, just hang by the pool or rent a boat on those days. We also have a family portrait planned on one of the resort days. can't wait!!!

Depends on the resort for us. WL is so relaxing that we just take a full day to swim and have a few drinks, maybe walk thru the lodge. It's so peaceful. Pop Century's Petals Bar makes the best drinks and it's relaxing after a day of parks to sit in the evening and people watch. :)

The good thing is you can add days if you need them. I'm going 7 days and did 5 day tickets but also plan to do a water park/ MNSSHP day and departure day with no parks. But same as you our departure is at 6:45 so I'm thinking I might add a day which is only like $20. But all do that there if we decided we need too!

We usually don't do full resort days since we always come back midday to rest, swim, nap and freshen up for the evening in the parks each day.

Spent 10 days overthanksgiving at WDW past 3 years and at WL. Usually arrive mid day Thursday before TG and spend the day at the pool. Plans changed last year due to refurbishment of WL pool. Usually take the Tuesday off and sleep in late and spend entire day at resort. Great break since we usually are in the parks at rope drop and are the last ones to leave. By the end of the trip we are spent though, both physically and mentally but it's worth it

on our last trip, my ds did not go to the parks once in 9 days. He met another family with kids that were there for just a resort vacation so he spent every day at the pools with them and watched the pool movies every night with them. They loved him but we never saw him until time to go to bed. Dh would sleep in late and then met up with me, dd and sil at the parks. We would come and go on the monorails from MK or Epcot and our resort for the club level food. One day it was rainy so sil, dd and I decided to visit every deluxe resort, even AKL. We had a great time. We also spent a lot of time just walking around our resort (GF) and the shops there . On our departure day, dd went to AK with another family whose son liked her , dh, ds and sil spent the day at the pool and I read a book in the GF lobby and listened to the pianist, very relaxing day. Our flight was not until about 11 pm so no rushing to have to leave.

'how is CBR for resort time?'
This my first time there and we love POR and always needed resort time there. Staying Fri to following Sat, would you recommend one full day at CBR?

I think it is great for a resort day. The beaches are so relaxing, and the pool is fun. I think I read more at CBR than at any other resort. I would have morning coffee early at OPR, and just enjoy the quiet. Afternoons I would take my DGD to the "beach" and let her play in the sand while I read on a hammock. It is a gorgeous resort.

WE usually stay for 10 days, so there is plenty of tiem to spend entire "off" days, but this trip we are there Sunday to Sunday with 2 little girls who have never been. It is August and Hot, so I planned a trip with teh same model of my last August trip. Parks every day scheduled but arrival and departure ( we hav etime but can just wing it those days). I have down time built in so we can go back to the resort and swim and relax afternoons, and back out in the evening. Plenty of character meals for the girls at or near our resort so they can wind down a bit and meet their favorites without standing in lines for each one.

Our vacations keep getting longer and longer so we have time to enjoy our resort but we've always tried to have at least one day off from the parks mid-trip. For Saturday to Saturday I'd schedule my day off on Tuesday or Wednesday. I suppose you need to decide which parks you have to visit and for how long. With a 4 year old I'd be tempted to do mostly MK and boat over to WL for naps or just do half days. It'll be easier or your kid

We also spend part of each day at the resort, either the morning, the afternoon, or the evening. We mix it up each day. Multiple days on tickets after five days are pretty inexpensive so this works for us.

It's hard for me to justify spending an entire day at the resort.
We like one lazy day with pool time then head out to F&W festival.
I can never do the mid day breaks, we tried it doesn't work for us, to much travel time back and forth IMO. Especially since we go in the fall and the parks close early.

We may take one full resort day. But mostly we get to the park at rope drop, then leave after lunch and go back to resort for a mid day break. Then go back at night. Especially in August. Afternoons are just too hot.
Our trips have been anywhere from 7-14 days.
On departure day our flight is usually 6:30pm so we book a late ish breakfast ADR, around 10ish to give us time to pack last minute stuff, and go to airline desk to check luggage, get boarding pass, then go to Bell Service to check our carry on, then head to breakfast. Afterward we will pop into a park and do a couple of fav attractions and grab a snack. I like to get back to resort an hour before DME pick up. May grab lunch at the cs, buy a snack for the flight, look around resort shop, before grabbing carry ons from Bell Service.

Everyone's preferences are different, but we don't usually do resort days either. (Although most of our trips have been to DL, this is only our second time to WDW) We like to get to the park for rope drop and stay or park hop all day. We do a sit down meal in the parks each day and use that as our breather time. I love to just be in the parks!! Arrival and departure days are our only real resort times.

We go to the parks everyday. Not rope drop to park closing, but we do spend time everyday in the park.

About 3 resort days and 4 WP days which we are usually back by 500 at the resort. We go for 17 days so I'm sure this isn't the normal. I think any resort is fine for resort time. I just pop in my ear buds and read!

We usually buy at least 5-7 day tickets each trip, as the price difference between say a 3 and 5-7 day is usually minimal. We usually do a few hours each day the parks and then relax at the resort. I always plan for 1-2 resort only (maybe DTD and/or resort hop) during a 8-10 day trip. Our park "commando" days are gone and we now try to actually do some relaxing on every vacation including those to WDW.
