How many points?

Posted this earlier but it didn't post for some reason!!

Am considering a DVC Rental for part of next years holiday & am reading up on how it all works (very confused at the mo!!) anyway, what Im struggling to get my head round is the number of points I would need.

Not an exact figure, just approximately how many points would I need to rent for say a week from around 23rd June in one of the DVC clubs (not researched which ones yet)?

Family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids (14 & 0))?

Can anyone give me an idea - just trying to work out roughly how many points I'd need and approx. how much a point for that time of the year so I can compare it to hotel etc.

Depends on resort and room size. Go to top of this page and click "DVC Point Charts." Then click on one of the resorts at WDW and look at required number of points for time of year ("Magic Season" in your case) and varying room sizes (and for BWV and AKV, it can also depend on view). The points are given per night for Sun- Thurs night and separately for Fri and Sat night, which cost more, and then also the week total.

Your original post did not post because you submitted it to the Rent/Trade board. That board is only for posting actual rent/trade 'ads'. It is not for asking questions. This is the correct board for asking questions.

When you do your comparisons, remember that if you rent points it is strictly between you and the renter. Disney DVC is not involved at all. Also, there are no taxes involved. If you get a hotel room, don't forget to add on the 11.5% hotel tax.
