How Many Points???

I know this is a loaded question, but for those of you out there who have been DVC members for a while, how many points would you recommend? We are a family of 4 and would look to vacation for about 10 days in Disney (mostly during the summer). DS is 11 and DD is 4. We'll eventually need a two bedroom unit as the rugrats get older. We'd also like to trade out through II on occassion or take a beach trip to Vero. I'm thinking 400 points would get us what we're looking for, but would like your thoughts, especially if you purchased and ended up adding on recently. We just purchased 390 points, but may add on with a small contract. I'm just trying to decide what we'll need before the prices go up, as we'd purchase at SSR where we bought our other contracts.

I agree you will need the 400 points for July etc. With the 390, you will be ok borrowing for awhile.

Download the DVC planner by Caskbill. You can enter in your dates, room type and it will tell you how many points you will need. Very helpful to have around.
