How many Points do you have?

We're new members and decided 500 at SSR was right for us. We are a family of 4 but often bring help along, ... so we need a 2 bedroom on most holidays. We have a lot of extended family that also likes to travel with us, so I can imagine that we will be adding on before long!

We have 150 BCV points purchased in March 2003. We bought what we felt we could afford with the intention of adding on later if we needed. So far, we haven't needed to add on. We always seem to have points to bank. We tend to travel to WDW only once a year (we fly so it can be expensive). We have always traveled either in Adventure or Magic Season so the points are much more reasonable. We always stay in a 1BR too so that's A LOT cheaper than a 2BR. We have a DS3 and are currently expecting our 2nd DS in January so luckily we'll be able to continue our 1BR stays for a while longer (at least until the boys get to be teens!). We'll probably continue to travel in Oct. even when the boys reach school age (our school system has a week long Fall break). So unless things change, we may just keep it at 150 points. No need to add yet. :)

Plus, alternating stays at OKW help stretch our points. We stayed 8 nights in an OKW 1BR in October for 190 points (including a Fri. & Sat. night). ;)

No points to bank this year though. We rented points to friends to stay at SSR at the same time we were there. Since we are having a baby in January, there's no trip to WDW this coming year. :scared1: So its okay that we used all the points this year! We have more points coming Sept. 2008!:woohoo:

We don't like the attitude change we are seeing, plus we were paying about $2500 a year in dues. The OKW fiasco was not to our liking even though we love OKW. Add the cost of the trips (tickets, gas, hotels along the way, meals, etc), and it was getting a bit expensive. Add the cost of private school on top of that and we were getting a bit low on disposable cash. So instead of two trips a year, we'll just take one. And maybe hit the beach for a few days before or after.

We are looking for another timeshare that we can use to go to the beach at least every summer, FL Gulf Coast is our pick.

So we were up to 5 contracts and will be down to two, hopefully by the end of February. And we could sell the VWL one, too, later on.

Why don't you use your points at Vero Beach?

Why don't you use your points at Vero Beach?

Been there, done that. We really prefer the Gulf coast beaches. More beach, warmer water, shallower water for longer distances. In fact, Marco Island is a favorite of ours.

When we bought in, we purchased 390 points (via 2 contracts) at SSR. I would like to be able to stay two full weeks in a 2-br during the summer, so we look to add on in the future (maybe Hawaii or the Contemporary if it's ever announced!!!). A 2-BR is 316 at SSR and 296 at OKW, so we have a ways to go!

3 contracts, all at Saratoga (we got add-on fever) for a total of 400 points. We'd like to add at HH, but are trying to hold off for CRV. Even if that isn't a reality, the dream is keeping us from going into debt by buying more points.

Our waitlist came through...so now...we're at BWV 250, VWL 175, VB 150, AKV 140 and BWV 140. We're at 855.

Bobbi:goodvibes

I started with 150 BWV points and have added on four times in 50 point increments for a total of 350 BWV points.

We bought 175 points in 1999 at BWV when we adopted 6 year old DD. We added on 25 points about 3 months after because we had some extra cash and we already loved going to Disney as a new family. We added another 100 points about 2 years later at BWV but still didn't seem enough. Then my DH received a call from our guide and called to tell me he added on 400 points at SSR sight unseen. 700 points was a bit to much for us to use with only 1 child but we tried but we only have so much vacation time and money. We sold 175 BWV points and now leaves us with 525. This seems to be a good number for us because we can take 3-4 vacations a year either as a family or getaways for DH and I or DD and I. You notice the pattern that no Disney vacation takes place without me. We have invited family and friends in the past but they don't seem to get the same enjoyment from it that we do. Now we only invite the truely "Disney Worthy".

300 points.

Started with 200 points at SSR. Added on 100 at AKV. I would like at least 100 more.

Originally 230 OKW back in 1994. Bought a BWV resale in 1999 for 150. And bought another OKW resale in 2005 (really, really great deal, bty) for 210 for a grand total of 590. And getting the itch again...bad ;)

We own 200 at SSR for my husband and I. Plenty but now we are wanting more so we can stay in the 1 bed with that HUGE jaccuzzi tub! Woot Woot!

My parents are also members and they have 310 points. However, they want to take our entire family (13) to WDW so they need a "few" more points!

We have 400 points, all at SSR. We bought our first contract for 200 points back in March 2007. We just added on another 200 points (in 2 100 pt contracts) during the latest promotion. We have a Dec. UY, so we got the 200 2006 points and the 270 developer points. We're taking all of these "extra" points and going on a cruise in February.:woohoo:
