How many points are enough ???

We currently have 290 points, started at 160 at SSR, added another 25 at SSR, and then added 105 at AKV. Right now that's the exact right amount, but with us planning for a little one, and family liking to use our DVC on occaision we are planning to add 110 more whenever Poly DVC happens to bring us to an even 400.

Hi there neighbor...we are in Crofton too!!!

DW and I have been happy with 160, but our family is growing and we don't know how much longer we'll be happy in studios. I don't plan on adding on, but we might do banking/borrowing and then mix in an offsite stay here and there for the extra space.

I have 1,356 but am in the process of selling a few contracts.

A 72-point BCV sale just closed today, in fact.

I have 50pts :rotfl2: planning to add 50 more within the next three years, family also owns RCI so I look at doing a week offsite before going for three or four nights on site

We have 1150 and recently had to have 250 transferred in plus I will probably need to borrow for one trip next spring. So I guess we don't have enough but I just don't want to put out any more $$ in MF.

300 has been good for us for 12 years.

They go a long way at our home OKW. If we ever accumulate points we book a Grand Villa. In the future we might try the Grand Floridian.

What's interesting is how much pointflation is going on for tradeouts. A 150 points at the first DVC resort won't get you many nights at the next DVC resort. I'd love to see what kind of ratio is involved between the resorts.

We currently have 285 BLT points, 160 SSR and are in ROFR for 225 BWV points. We are good for a while. I would like to get somewhere around 1000 points by the time my DH retires (10 years). I am currently doing a bunch of research on TUG looking at other options (timeshares) for the future so we maybe done with DVC but I still have a lot to learn!

My 160 is perfect.

* * * that will change if Poly really comes to be.. I do not think anything else will change that.

(we transfer in at about 10$ a point when we need more. This gives us the best options when we want more, and when we need less. )

We lived in Crofton for 23 years. Last home Chapman Farms. Hi old neighbors!

Too funny...another neighbor in this thread!! We have been here 6 years...in old Crofton (triangle). Counting down the days until we can move to FL...too busy, cold and expensive here.

Just read a post from Members who all have over 1,000 pts !!!!! Can you imagine that ???? Highest was 4500, whats the Maintenance on that ?? lol !!!

We have 260 and I think that's a good number for us. 160 BLT and 100 Aulani. We generally travel as a couple so we mostly use studios. More often than not we also travel within the 2 lowest tiers points use as well since we don't travel during spring breaks, summer vacations etc.

Agree with those who say what the purse will allow in maintenance fees is a good number of points. We originally bought 150 pts. at OKW, then a few years later added 150 more resale. A few years after that we added 150 more resale at BWVs. With a total of 450 pts., I think we are done (although I would love to add on another 50 at BWVs)!:)

378 works for us, in fact, I think we have too many now that it's just us. The grandkids are about 5 years from being the right age.
It's difficult to figure out which contract to sell though as they were all bought for different reasons.
164 okw, 64 bwv, 50 bcv and 100 more bwv.

Just a little survey..... Looking to add pts to my portfolio, We currently have 600pts scattered between 3 resorts. Might be looking to add on at BLT or the Grand Floridian..... How many pts are enough ?? What is the number of pts that you have and do you feel you have enough ??? Thanks

We own 627 points, 375 @ BWV and 252 @ BCV. We live in Kissimmee and somehow we are still in a constant state of borrowing. We only stay in 1 or 2br units, so that burns thru them faster.
I wish we had more, but DH complains about maintenance fees every year, so we will stick with 627.
