have an internet/email privacy policy at their job???I am teaching an internet class in the evening at this was the subject of one our discussions in the past weeks.

I voted yes. I don't work right now, but the last place I worked had one. It wasn't enforced at all, but it was there. The network guy was too busy to even have a chance to enforce it, and besides, he broke more of the rules than the rest of us combined. We still had to be careful, though, because it could be used as grounds for dismissal, and the CEO was a very moody lady. You could be on her bad side without even knowing it, so you wouldn't want her to catch you.

The policy here is pretty liberal. We may use our email and internet for personal use so long as it does not interfere with our job performance. We may not visit sexually explicit or hate-related sites.

We are not monitored, though we are told that we could be in the future. There's no expectation of privacy while we are using the office equipment.

obviously though, we can get in trouble for not getting our work done in a thorough and timely manner.

I work at a daycare. There is only one computer that the director and I share. And since we are actually side by side, I am not on the internet much at work.

Heck, they won't even give us access to the internet!
