How many people never leave WDW while on vacation?

Earlier trips to Florida we used to stay with my aunt & uncle who lived in Orlando. After they moved away, and since we've started staying onsite & DVC we've left once to go to Seaworld for the day and Discovery Cove. But that's it. We always fly down and use a towncar and stay put. Next trip we're planning on driving because we want to go to the beach, either Disney Hilton Head or other for a few days after WDW.

When DD became a CM we finally ventured off property to go to her house:D Other than that, and running a few errands with her to the mall, we stay on-site. It's a total escape from reality.:earsboy:

Towncar from airport to WDW ...

WDW.

Towncar (teary) back to airport.

Why anything more !!!!

:thewave: :thewave:

Leave?!?!?

Heaven forfend!

Why, that would completely destroy the fantasy!

We've been going for years now, even when we drove, we never left property. I call it the Disney Dome, once we're under the Disney Dome, we don't want to leave it. Now we fly, towncar in, do our grocery/beer stop and that's it!

Oh, I lie. Once we left, mainly because the specific purpose of our visit was to go to the Bruce Springsteen concert, which we bought tickets for because it was in Orlando, which is near - hmmmm could it be DISNEYWORLD! The one and only time. We Tiffany towncar'd it to the concert and back, that was it.

We truly are, DISNEY FREAKS!

We usually don't leave. On our honeymoon trip we went to St. Augustine for part of the day because DH had visited as a child. I wasn't impressed with the city. We did stop at a nice beach that was pretty abandoned. We enjoyed miniature golfing at Fantasia Gardens. We've played both courses. We love strolling through DD at night.

If I am alone, I stay ON property, if my friend from Daytona Beach comes, we take a drive off property to the store, or whatever.:o

We love being immersed in the World for 7 or 8 days! :) With the excpetion of traveling to a grocery store on the first day we rarely leave Disney property. It always seems a little startling to me the last day of our vacation when we drive out of WDW and enter the REAL WORLD. it is fun to be in such a Fantasyland for a week. :teeth:

I definitely prefer not to leave. As many have already said, if you don't go back into the real world, the fantasy world seems much more real after a day or so. That trip back to the real world stinks that much more though....kinda shocking. I just hate it when the road signs go from purple to green!!!!!! On this last trip we did leave WDW for a grocery run to get some in-room libations that we could afford. The whole time we were outside the gates I just wanted to close my eyes and yell lalalalalala to myself with my fingers in my ears (I actually only did this for about 15 sec. but I wanted to continue). Next time, we are going to bring everything with us so that we don't have to leave!!!!!

Hi everyone, we've been to Disney World 6 times and the only time we've ever been outside of DW was this last trip in Dec. 2003...we stayed in a hotel off property for the first night we were in Florida because we got in so late. That was the ONLY time we've ever been out of DW! I think as my kids get older we may take in a few other attractions like the Space center etc. but we'll still probably stay mostly at DW....it's home. Helen

The only time we go off property at WDW is when we are taking a cab to Mass on Sunday! :sunny: Otherwise, we stay put and enjoy the Disney magic! Maybe one day we will venture off property, but for now we don't.

:earsgirl:

We have only been to WDW twice and stayed at the Poly both times. The only time we left was our first trip during a rainstorm when we decided to go get pizza at Pizza Hut. Other than that we just hung out on Disney property. DH says not driving makes his vacation even better 'cause he drives the majority of the 14 hours there and 14 hours back. So we like to park the van and forget about it until we have to pack up and leave.

We only leave to make a trip to the grocery store. We have always found plenty to do at WDW. I think if we wanted to experience some other attraction, we would not be paying to stay at WDW!!!! For me, the point in paying the higher prices for WDW is to experience all it has to offer.

We never leave Disney once we're there.

There is so much to do, why leave?

We leave property to:

Look at new houses

Visit friends

Buy beer and snacks

Get film developed

To get a good steak under $20.00

Shop the Disney Outlets

This is the first time we will be doing something out of the park while there. We are going to Sea World one day.

DisneyDOME:teeth: I LOVE IT! We have called it our "land cruise" as we never leave 'till it's all over. We rented a car once during our first on-site stay...it sat for 7 days. I know there are a zillion other places to vacation at, but we just love knowing our kids have constant options (us too) 'cause if they're happy, we're happy! Of course, when I visit my folks, I hit the beach everyday, so I never really branch off of that either. Guess I like to keep things simple and familiar!

We never leave!!!! We don't have enough time to go other places. On this next trip we are renting a car, going to universal studios. That is going to be the first day we are there so we do not have to leave again!!!! I get tired of driving I like to go somewhere and not worry about getting around.:boat: :moped: :space:
