We will be in Disney mid summer with a DD 1 & DD 2.5 for nine days. I am trying to plan now to make sure I buy and pack enough clothes. How many outfits does everyone think kids will go through a day...2? 3? Also do kids get dressed up for TS dinners? All suggestions welcome.
I've switched over to a new system for packing that another DISboarder suggested that works really well for us.
She suggested labeling (with a black sharpie) a 1 gallon ziploc bag, and in that bag goes the whole outfit, socks, undies, shirt, shorts, and you label it like this:
Annabelle
Sunday Morning
Casual outfit
Evelyn
Sunday Morning
Casual outfit
Annabelle
Sunday Afternoon
Dressy Outfit
Evelyn
Sunday Afternoon
Dressy Outfit
and so on-you get the picture. You are staying a lot longer than we normally do, we usually do 6 days at the max and typically do 4, you might want to pack 5 days and on day 5 do a laundry day where you wash, dry, and repack the ziplock bags for the next four days.
My DH (who thought it was weird that I was labeling and packing all these ziplocs) absolutely MARVELLED at how much easier it made getting ready to go into the parks (he had his ziplocs, too, but they just had underwear and socks for each day, his stuff was hung up, as were mine).
The best part was that I sort of overpacked, I had two casual outfits per day plus one dressy one, and when we got back I just pulled out the unused ziplocs and put the clothes right back in the DD's closets. I put all the ziplocs (now empty) back in the suitcases for our next trip, so it's not wasteful.
As to having dress up clothes, we like to dress up at Disney, not all the time, but yes, we enjoy it. Nobody will look at you twice with nice clothes on, and we enjoyed how great our pictures came out when we looked smart
