Enough from the wise guys! I was reading about "girlfriend get togethers" at WDW on another board. It's an appealing idea, but would have to be in the distant future, we will borrow next year for what we planned, so left over points may only be a pipe dream.

I've asked a few friends what they would think of a state park cabin get together and was encouraged with the replies, so I'm fairly certain that a WDW get-together would be a GO!

Stacy, do you live close enough so airfare wouldn't be an issue?

I couldn't do it. I enjoy going out for the evening with the girls, or even a weekend trip somewhere, but I could NEVER do Disney without DH and my DDs. I would feel terribly guilty as this is such a special time for the four of us.

I'm not judging whether it's the right decision for someone else...just definitely not the right decision for me.

I did a girlfriend get a way last March for the first time and really enjoyed it. I was a bit worried about my friend because she was not a disney fanatic, but she loved it and was jealous when I went with my family a few months later.

As for the guilt, yes it was there. I had a hard time leaving my family but my kids were really good about it. Some days they would cry and say they wanted to come with me and other days they would say Mom you deserve it go and have a good time. The good thing was we had a family trip planned for 2 months later so they were able to think about that.

My friend and I have decided to make it annual trip, although last time I splurged for the one bedroom and the next time we may have do the studio.

If I ever manage to get an OKW contract, I'll probably use it at least once to invite my scrapbooking friends for a Disney crop weekend (or perhaps a midweek!). Seems to me a GV would be perfect for 12 ladies to get together.....go to the parks during the day and scrapbook at night!

I also really want to take my other at home mom friends and kids sometime.....just because our husbands are stuck at work shouldn't mean we're stuck at home! Then again, I think my dh would be very upset if we went to WDW without him. Perhaps I'll have to do this at HH instead!

Right now, there's no such thing as extra points for us though....our 200 are being stretched to their limits.
