I was wondering What you keep in your lockers? This will be the First time we will be going more than once in a year and wanted to know if they are worth the cash . Thank you:flower3: Always Knee deep in:laundy:

It can actually hold a lot of items, and there have been several threads where people list what they keep in their owners lockers. For my family, we are all over the place with what we put in there. My DH just humored me when I said I was signing up for it but when it came time to pack it up he was pulling things from everywhere to have for our next trip:

Waffle maker, 6 large mugs (we love tea and coffee in the AM and the resort mugs are too small) coloring books/crayons, sweatshirt/pants for DH, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, moisturizer, detergent, a hair straightener,

That's all I can think of for now, but it's a lot. Good luck with your decision!

I'm sure everyone that responds to this thread has an OL and will tell you they are wonderful. I sure will. :thumbsup2

DEFINITELY worth it! We have ours over stuffed, and I pity poor John when he has to deliver it! Just make sure you keep an inventory of what you put in it at the end of each trip. This time we actually took some things we had in there home again, and left other things. We've had ours over a year now, and we found there were things we had in there we weren't using, so no need to have them taking up space.

By keeping a good inventory, I can check our inventory list when I get ready to pack for a trip, so I don't end up taking something I already have stored there. I have things like face care products, laundry products, kitchen items, walking shoes, razors, hair care items, curling iron, etc, etc, etc. We got a box about the size of the locker and filled it with the things we wanted in there and sent it down to arrive there when we were going for the trip where we first got our locker.

Thank you for the reminder that I need to get my notes out of my bag and update my inventory. :thumbsup2 I'd be glad to post my list (which is pretty darned extensive) once I get it updated.

We LOVE our Lockers! Note the use of the plural. ;)

I love ours way more than DH. We have 2.

Some things we have in ours
pillows
towels
plastic glasses
cooler for park.

We have 2. It sure beats travelling with suitcases.

My job requires that I work while at Disney (my job requires that I travel to Disney) so I have a printer, wireless keyboard and mouse, paper, stapler, paper clips, wireless router, cables, etc. as well as the usual stuff like, coffee, filters, cling wrap, toiletries, clothes, backpack, bathing suits, sun screen, hats, beach towels, shoes, sandals, and on and on.

Both boxes are stuffed and I'm thinking #3.

Love ours so much we're adding a second! :thumbsup2

New bottle of Absolut Mandrin :goodvibes
Laundry detergent
shampoo/cond
toothpaste
hairspray
combs/brushes
hairdryer
air mattress
cooler
ponchos
suntan lotions
bug spray
Clorox wipes
lanyards
playing cards/UNO
Nintendo Game Cube
allergy/cold meds
Motrin
pop up hamper
closet organizer
Router

We are getting the second primarily for clothes/shoes. You know, the stuff thats bulky to pack like hoodies for winder trips, jeans, etc. This will enable us to travel with only carry ons (eliminate baggage fees) & get a smaller rental car :thumbsup2

You realize what a great service this is the first time you travel without it after joining! OL has spoiled us big time!

Chiming in: Love our OL!

We keep:
  • Full size box of Tide laundry detergent with a baggie of dryer sheets. (We'll run ~3 loads of laundry each trip.)
  • Hair care products: Shampoo/Conditioner, Ionic Hair Dryer, Curlers w/ clips, Ceramic Hair brush. (I have always been extremely sensitive to chemicals -- so having my own hair and skin products is important.)
  • Skin care products and make-up essentials.
  • Wireless Telephone base unit + one extension. (I will often work partial days from our "vacation" villa and need the phone. We bring our special T-Mobile WiFi router from home which provides telco service to the stored phones.)
  • Large candle in glass base and spa goodies.
  • Pillow Cases, PJs.
  • Backpack(s), cooler tote, umbrella, rain poncho.
  • Kitchen items: spice wheel, salt/pepper, paring knife, kitchen scissors ...
  • Bottled water/soda - left over from prior trip
  • Tea bags, coffee, filters, powered creamer, etc.
  • etc, etc, etc.

Anyone live within driving distance and use an owner's locker? The thought of packing less for our WDW trips is appealing but I'm debating if it is worth the expense since we drive.

We have 2, and they are both pretty stuffed. We love the convenience they offer, as well as the lighter packing & unpacking on the homefront end. Our list is pretty exhaustive as well, but it sure makes our homes away from home even more homelike and fun.

We have 2, one for the usual family stuff -detergent, umbrellas, ponchos, first aid stuff, etc. -, the second for our office stuff - printer, keyboards, etc., for working half days while there.

This year we're taking down a Keurig Mini to add to locker #1, so I'll have to re-evaluate what all needs to be in that locker so I'll have room for the Keurig.

Love my locker!
In addition to the already mentioned items we keep light weight goretex jackets, pocket umbrellas, small plastic cutting board, extra shoes, Velcro closure strips, wire ties, big black marker, box cutter, rubber bands, zip locs in multiple sizes and full size toiletries plus a big bottle of extra strength Tylenol.

How often do you have to go to make OL worth it? I was just curious if we are only going once a year if it is worth it?

Thanks Everyone! :goodvibes

That probably depends on how much you like to take, and how many bags you have to pay the airline extra for. We use the OL so that we can just get by with a carry on each. That keeps both our expenses and our time at the airport down. We figured even 2 trips a year were worth it to us, since baggage fees are $25-$40 per bag.

We have two also and cannot imagine going to WDW without them. We started out with one on our first trip. We also sent down a box prior to our first arrival to stock it initially. That worked really well until we decided to buy some big, comfy robes from the gift shop at SSR. We ended up calling to get a second locker before we even left. Those robes are the things that I always look forward to unpacking because they are so cozy.

The OL website has a good list of items that people generally put in their lockers. I started with that and then went from there. Like most people, we have the standard toiletries, first aid, OTC meds, laundry stuff (we use the Purex sheets for washing only and then Downy dryer sheets). We also have the pop up hamper and clothes pins, which double nicely as chip clips. For the times we stay in a studio, I have plastic plates in various sizes. I need to add a cutting board and an actual sharp knife. Since we also take them on DCL, we also have snorkel equipment and bags to carry out on excursions. Most of what we have you will probably find on their list. The two things that we use almost each and every time we go are a full size pair of scissors and an extension cord.

Other things that I have read that people put in theirs include a crock pot, George Forman grill and electric frying pan. I would probably include those too, but I am currently resisting the urge to get a third locker.

Nope, don't have one and probably won't need one. We are able to fly Southwest and take what little we need in our baggage since "Bags Fly Free". We go about twice a year. It is usually just the two of us...no kids.

:yay:We started out with one locker which I have all the items we need for cooking and entertaining,i.e. BBQ utensils, dishes and silverware, mini crockpot, speed grill, tablecloth, cutting board, margarita glasses, hamper, detergent, travel scrabble, router, extension cord, etc... You get the idea. We fly SW as well, but on our last trip,my husband's ME yellow tag got ripped off his luggage. The luggage never got picked up and it took ME approx 12hrs to find and deliver it. After that incident, we ordered a second locker to put our clothes and shoes in.I will be using space bags the next trip down to condense the clothes (we also bought the nice comfy spa robes at SSR). I found a small 110v electric pump made for inflating/deflating air matteresses. It works great with the vaccuum sealed space bags and is only 4"X4". Now we can board the plane with our laptops and a book. Owners Lockers are definitely worth every penny with none of the worry!!
