Sounds like everyone has some great trips planned!::yes::
I'm so excited about ours, I can't seem to think of anything else here lately. Actually I've been thinking of nothing else since we started planning this trip over 4 months ago. :)

luckywife - Wow! Love that counter! Looks like you're outta here not long after floridafam!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

lovesdumbo - Sounds like a very memorable trip you've got planned! I would love to try Oct., but with DD heading to HS, we're probably gonna be stuck with school breaks.:( As for booking airfare, I've been booking right after I get my resort booked lately. I used to be able to wait until just a month or so beforehand, and get a pretty good deal, but the last couple years, the price just goes up the closer I get!! It seems like since they've reduced the number of flights per day, the last-minute deals are harder to come by. I was pretty disgusted to come home last month and find that the day we flew out, SWA had a fare sale, it would have been about $20 cheaper per person. Oh, well, at least I got on the flight I wanted, I hate to wait and then have to get there at 11:30 p.m. :wave2:

WOOHOO here too!!! Just booked BWI CL for October for myself and DH-Kids are staying in CBR WV room. Got the 5 for 7 deal but I think I will check into AAA rates too (at least I got my room!)

What are the typical AAA discounts? Regular Season Concierge is it about 15%?

ME TOO!! In fact, it's been consuming me for the past 10 months~!!!! :teeth:

I mention it at least ONCE per day...either the airlines, Cruise, Resorts & CL, etc. It's in my BLOOD!!:lovestruc

teentoddlermom~WOW! That's some Phenomenal airfare. I have NEVER flown for that little...anywhere. Of course, I always fly FC...but still, for THOSE PRICES I'd sit strapped to the WING!! :cloud9: I'm so happy for you, you hit the AIRFARE JACKPOT!

lovesdumbo~I FLY DELTA exclsuively...and please, don't waste a moment worrying about the Bankruptcy thing. It's a strategic move to get the PILOTS to relinquish some salary (which they will do...just as NW did, and AA). ::yes:: Since they are partnered with United, you'll always have a carrier to honor any tickets. Bankruptcy is a safeguard against creditors. MACY's filed the same eons ago (in the late 90's), and never went anywhere. So, relax and reassure DH. Song has some fabulous deals. My GF is flying out to see us @ WDW this summer, and paid $214.00 RT on Song (NS LAX-MCO). I think that's a DEAL for Calif-Fla! ;) Good luck. If I see any specials, I'll drop you a pm.

floridafam~Continued SMILES, and good feelings over your son's diagnosis! YOOHOO!

Tess~I'm sure BT can give you a hint/tip to assist you with your AP rate...don't fret. You'll get it!! :sunny:

outahere~:wave2: I've been frequenting the CRUISE forum lately...as we are reserved for the 2005 Calif. Cruise! I'll stop by and say hello next time I'm over there.

BT~Hey, SISTA! Hope the show is a WINNER, and everything goes as planned. :flower3: Enjoy your FRIDAY!

*Did you hear anything about the CAT 1/2/3 on the ships? I'm "waitlisted" (supposedly  ), and called this am, but still no luck!! We're in a CAT. 5, which fine for the three of us. BUT...I would ENJOY the 1BR suite for SURE!! :teeth: We've already made some plans to reserve the Repositional FLA-CA 2006 cruise, as we MUST do the "PC" thing! I'll sit on the verandah...taking pics and sipping fu-fu bevs, as we pass from LOCK-LOCK! :rotfl:

Absolutely...a THRILL of a LIFETIME (one of MANY!)...:smooth:

In regard to your questions....

I tend to "take charge" of a situation when it doesn't go right. Would rather have the control of changing things myself, I guess! For that reason,. I never involved the CM's. I called CRO myself, went to the front desk in the main lobby myself, and got things changed. It was relatively easy. About the black water coming from the tub....Once we ran it for a couple minutes, the water became clear. I suppose I could have complained about it to someone, but I tend not to complain. I probably need to do so though because there are times when those complaints can help make a situation better. Truthfully, once we decided to change resorts, we were just all about packing and shuttling the kids over to GF right away! Unfortunately, I don't recall the room #. It faced the main pool and courtyard. Hope this helps you. :wave2:

HI EVERYONE!!!!! All your planning sounds FABULOUS!! ::yes::

Thanks. I am the same way. If something isn't right, I just take care of it immediately.

I'm glad you got it all straightened out. :D

Woody-you made the GF sound wonderful!! I am so glad you were able to salvage your trip and enjoy yourself. I was so tempted to try the AKL or the YC for our trip, but traveling with four kids, I really think being on the monorail is going to work out better for us.
I am so excited for all of you that are planning your trips. Mine is all planned. All I can do is sit back and wait. Patiently. Sort of.

WELCOME OUTAHERE! I believe you are going to love this thread.

Goodferry & k&a&c'smom - Congrats on both of your children!!!

Debbie - I hope your SIL is progressing nicely. Still have her in my prayers.

BT - Sounds like you have yet another great trip planned! You are going to make your parents so completely happy :teeth:!

Floridafam - I hope your surgery goes well and recovery will be swift for you! Best wishes to your family for a terrific time at the Lodge. I really do hope you can keep concierge privileges if you to the deluxe room. Sending PD your way that they'll work with you on that :D.

lovesdumbo & mom_rules - Sounds like great trips have been lined up!! :teeth:

Goodferry - You are right! GF sounds pretty awesome. I have so many "to dos" on my list, I'll have to go at least 6 times this year to get all done - LOL! Not that I'd mind or anything ;).

(((((((WAVING)))))))) to all the lizards out there!!!!

I wasn't around yesterday since I have some family in from out of state to come see the races in Richmond this weekend. They were lucky enough to get tickets. I had to spend the evening at the ER with my DS yesterday, too. 4 stitches above the little fella's eye. He thinks it's pretty cool, but it gave mom here a little jolt. I'm just praying he'll get through the next 5 days without re-injurying himself. He's missing out on his last soccer game today, but I'm taking him down to cheer his team on. Plus, it's trophy day :teeth: & he's really excited about that.

Well, I've got to make a quick run around the house. The family is should be here in about 20 minutes & I still have to get myself dressed - LOL! You all have a great weekend if I don't get a chance to stop back by :teeth: :wave2: :sunny:!

VAgal76,

Thank you. I'm sure everything will be fine.

I guess we won't be able to get a deluxe room. Marilyn at the IPO said she could put a request in for us and Melissa e-mailed that we couldn't request it.

I don't know. I guess we'll see at check-in.

Oh well. :sunny:

Congrats to K&A&C'smom's DS! That is wonderful news! Is this K or A or C who is going off to college? Also congrats to VAgals' DD! What great things will be in her future!

I also have one of those "graduating seniors" this year! Oh, where did the years go? I swear it was just yesterday that I was trying to convince her that it wasn't dress and tights weather, but she needed to wear pants to school! *a regular disagreement during winter in the early el years!* and the tiara must'nt be worn to school! princess: My baby is off to college, also with a scholarship though it will only cover about half up here, my youngest is at the end of his elementary years... must be why we bought the puppy for his birthday! LOL We now have another baby in the family!

Thank you for your continued prayers and PD for my SIL. She is doing much better, and should be home this weekend! There is a lot ahead of her, recovery wise, but she is alive, and has both legs! I do believe the power of prayer works, and I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for adding to the prayers sent for her recovery.

WOW! What wonderful trips being planned! I love reading everyone's plans and how they evolve! I was "this close" to changing Poly GVC to something else, and the itinerary planner came in the mail.... lets just say I am hooked right now! I think I will be making it a down the middle split. Three nights Dolphin and three nights Poly GVC will allow me to save money at the front of our trip in order to spend it on the end!

DD still doesn't know if she's joining us, but if we get tickets for her now they're 20 dollars cheaper than when we purchased ours! (and that was a fantastic price, too!) I am with the group that thinks " grab the airfare now since it will only go up as gas prices go up". I would like to make this graduation celebration, and since she didn't go on the AKL concierge trips she has NO idea how glorious and worry free concierge makes a vacation! Hakuna Mattata!

I am off to the middle of Michigan for a hockey game. Treats were left on the sideboard; coffee, juice and smoothies on the counter. Help yourselves and have a beautiful Disney weekend!

Good luck to floridafam in getting your room request/concierge straightened out! This doesn't sound like a strange request. I wonder why those rooms don't come with concierge? They should!

Huge wave to all the lizards in the lounge!
Debbie

PS I think I need the Grand Floridian! I said it didn't interest me, as I live in a victorian town filled with antique shops... but.... but.. never say never? It sounds fabulous!

dreamflight99 -- which CA cruise are you on next year? As you can see from my sig, we are going to be bringing the Magic home from CA to FL. Should be a great cruise!! Too bad it's not this August. Oh well.......... I guess we'll have to "settle" for 7 nights at the Poly LVC

outtahere - Welcome to the Lounge

I'll have to check out that Cruise board. We started off thinking about the Land & Sea, until we realized how much there was to do at WDW.

Maybe next year or the year after for a Land & Sea. I might just check in to start planning.

Anyone - know when Disney will release park & show hours for August. Makes planning PSs a game of chance not knowing the schedule.

Hope everyone's weekend is going great. Time to sign DS up for Fall Soccer.

luckywife I resemble that remark.... :bounce:

DF and outtahere I love cruising too! We just loved the Magic..

lovesdumbo I seem to have been going through the numbers too! My friend is coming over today and we are going to sit with our spreadsheets and Passporters and come up with a good budget figure. This is her first trip and I have talked her into not only going at Christmas :earseek: but staying Poly CL.:earseek: :earseek: :earseek: so we're talking big bucks too.

to all with trips planned Let the planning begin!!

#1hockeymom So glad your sil is doing better.

BambiTamby Now that you have shared your Mom's "hints" there is NO WAY you could NOT stay at the Poly!!! Just like there is no way I can change resorts either! The Poly is all my DD talks about. Breakfast with Kona coffee and her cute little sugar stirrers... :) :p My DGD with her Goofy toast. Tonga toast for me... Walking out of the Kona Cafe onto the monorail. Tiki torches. The Neverland Club.

Ah yes, today is going to be a great planning day.

And to all the new people.. Welcome to the lounge!!!

:wave2: :wave2: room wave... have a wonderful weekend lizards

Okay, guys, what is this Passporter thing everyone is talking about? Is it software? Just one more thing that I need for my obsession with booking my next trip? LOL!

You should see my desk, it's covered with papers on which various booking combinations are written. I still haven't actually *called* WDW yet, although I probably should to get actual rates!

Ya know, I've been considering renting a home offsite upon the recommendation of my neighbor, so I signed up on one of those rental sites. Got absolutely innundated with rental offers, but the biggest thing I noticed is their cancellation policy. . every one has a ridiculous policy that reads similar to the following:

"WITHIN ONE MONTH OF VACATION NO REFUNDS WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF VACTIONS AFTER THE FINAL PAYMENT 50% REFUNDABLE."

Are they crazy? I can't believe people actually book with these people, with these kinds of cancellation policies! Uh-uh. . I'm stickin' with WDW! :D

Ann - The Passporter is a great guide-book, with extra pages at the end that are actually pockets, to keep paper souvenirs, like ticket stubs, etc. You can check it out by going to passporter.com. This is a very comprehensive guidebook, with fold-out maps of the parks, descriptions and reviews of the eateries, really a nice book. It has a feature I particularly like, an elastic band attached that you can wrap around as it gets filled with "stuff," so that it stays put!!

Debbie - LOL! It's "K!" Congrats to your DD as well, sounds like she has done some pretty hard work, herself. Is she into sports, too, like your DS?

I'm glad to hear your DSIL is on the road to recovery, albeit a long one. Just making it out of the hospital is good news.

Now, for that trip - GF is beautiful, and we'll go back, I know, but you really should keep your Poly res.! Of the two, the Poly is the most fun, most exotic, most charming...well, look at my sig., you get the picture!! Three times at the Poly vs. one at GF!!;)

GoofyJoofy - They usually release hours about 2 months out, so August should come out in a couple of weeks!

Edited to add: outahere, when I finally make it on a cruise, I'll take your advice and stay firmly on deck!!;)

Cool! I will check it out. . .thanks so much! :D

ok, my switched at birth twin said we're going ot the Poly.. so WE'RE GOING TO THE POLY! Please, everyone... give me all of your best Poly stories! Remember, I am still in the "to concierge, or not to concierge," mode too! I know I don't NEED concierge, nor will we take full advantage of it. I just love knowing I have someone at the desk to help in a moments notice, to give suggestions to, and an area I can send DS to if he wants that I feel completely safe with him there for a few minutes while I am not, and that he uses the manners that God gave him! *ok, God didn't, but he'd be impressed that hockeykid has some manners!*

DD is my cheerleader/singer/first born. She actually was in band for years and we never knew she had such a great voice! She never did any sports full time, intent on being the girly girl that she's proud of!

I forgot to welcome Outahere to the lounge! There are still plenty of empty overstuffed chairs left; pull up a seat and be comfortable!

You know you have it bad when you're switching through channels, stop on one of the shopping networks and think... wow, the lounge lizards would really love that! I switched off quickly.. need to save those dollars for a vacation.... We're going to Disney World!

Twenty three more school days, twenty three more schools days....Good night everyone!

Debbie

Great show and lots of buyers! But, I am tired!

And, wouldn't you know it?
Melissa from IPO calls me in the middle of the show about our POLY LVC ressie and our Grand 1 ressie.

Good thing it was during the "half" when they were doing door prizes!
but, I wasn't really able to talk to her and she's going to be off for a couple of days, so Tuesday I'll probably get an email from her regarding our dessert order for the Grand 1 cruise.

lovesdumbo....couldn't sleep last night (too excited about my show) and I made this for you.

Just copy and paste into your sig box if you like it.

Debbie...POLY! POLY! POLY!
After a nice long rest in one of those overstuffed chairs, I'll tell you more about how fabulous the Poly CL is.......:hyper:

Nitey-night, Lizards!

BambiTamby,

I also heard from Melissa today. She said she was going to be gone over Memorial Day weekend, too. Just an FYI.

Are you ordering a special dessert for the Grand 1 Cruise?

Has anyone heard from Majestic yet and how he and his family like the Poly?
