luckywife....Prayers and PD coming your way!!! Your DS will be just fine... I know it! :D

Luckywife - I'm sorry to hear about your little one! It's awfully hard to see your child like that. Sending prayers your way for a quick recovery.

luckywife - It's very hard to watch your child in pain or sickness. But, as others have said, they do recover so very quickly. My oldest DS (now nearly 19!) had pneumonia the week he was scheduled for hernia surgery, at 2 years. He was such a go-getter, and it was hard to see him lying limp and listless. But, as predicted, about a week later, he was up and running around, full of his old stuff!!:D We waited a couple years to do the surgery, and by that time, my younger DS (now nearly 17!) needed hernia surgery, too, so they decided to do both on the same day! Very hard on Mom and Dad, but the little guys were running around playing the next day.

I'll be thinking of you and your family, and I know it won't be long before he's his old self!

Oh, no! luckywife...Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way for a speedy recovery of your precious DS!
And :grouphug: is needed for you, my dear!

Don't worry about the clippie, it'll be here when you're ready to put it into your sig. You certainly have your hands full now!

Tess...We'll be seeing you in the lounge!:wave2:

WoodyRU and lovesdumbo.....please check your PMs.;)

Luckywife~Your DS and family are in my thoughts and prayers. MOM POPPINS little boy, Kirk, just recovered from something very similar. Perhaps you should PM her, and she will be more than pleased to offer support, etc. She's a darling woman.
Be sure to take care of yourself too, and get some rest (I know this is tough). I'll keep the pixie dust blowing your way. :goodvibes

BambiTamby~Hey.Sis! How did the show fare? I'm sure it was TOP NOTCH! ::yes:: Wish I were taking the safari with you and VALgal.
:( ROCHESTER?! DS was born there?!? MY parents reside in HORSEHEADS! (Next to Corning & Elmira). We used to drive to Rochester to visit friends, and shop the mall. WOW...it's a SMALL WORLD. The area of UPSTATE is true "God's country." I miss it too. ;) XO and  to you!

GoofyJoofy~Thanks for the take on the Passporter. I've never bought one, and always buy the BB guide (sentimental...as nothing really changes from year to year). I'm going to pick-up one of these and give it a go! ::yes::

**BIG WAVE...to all the LIZARDS!!

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

gone for a few days and so much catching up to do....

Luckywife-sending lots of prayers and PD to you and your baby! They do bounce back quick. My DS had double hernia surgery at 9 months and was trying to walk the next day.

k&a&c'smom-I can't imagine what you went through 15 years ago with 2 boys on the same day. That was a tough day for me when I carried my DS into to OR and held him while they put him out and then had to leave him. But like I said he did bounce back quick and he will never remember any of it. The dr said it is hereditary and a few of his cousins/uncles needed the surgery so I wanted to get it done early but DH was still unsure that day and that didn't help-of course he's glad now we had it done.

BT-THANKS!!!! I LOVE my new clip art. How thoughtful of you!

mom_rules-congrats on BWI. I got exactly 10% off for my CL room at Poly during regular season with AAA. The 7 for 5 is a better deal but I do plan on using AP's again.

Tess-you're making me very happy that I got my AAA discount. Of course I will be very happy to change those to AP's but I won't count on it-or worry too much about it.

teentoddlermom-congrats on your $79 Song fare. That wasn't available for our dates. I would love to just buy the tickets and get the flights we want but I don't think I can convince DH yet. I'm thinking maybe I'll wait til we meet DD's kindergarten teacher in June and just run the dates past her before we buy. Providence isn't a good option for us. Well over an hour drive vs. 1/2 hour to Logan. So if we fly out of Logan our friend is joining us will have her DH drive us and then we won't have pay parking. We flew Song and January and it was fine. By now I think they have those tv's in all planes.

DF-I don't like to waste time worrying about anything-that is DH's specialty and then he wonders why he can't ever seem to get anything done......

Debbie continued prayers & PD for your SIL. You are going to love the Poly and of course you've got to try CL! That way you're guaranteed the Hawaii building which can't be beat for location and the CL is really great.

Steffy-here's how I look at the $$$ of staying at Poly. You've got so much sunk into the vacation already (flights, tickets, some room....) that you might as well spend the extra $ and make the vacation really special. You get more out of your park tickets because it takes you less time to get to the parks. You didn't mention on your list-the check-in-how nice to be able to relax for a few moments after traveling before dealing with the paper work. Also the transportation ease of the Poly over CSR. How much would you pay late a night at Epcot to just be able to take the monorail back home rather than a bus and then possible have a very long walk back to your room. I like that the Poly is relatively compact-especially when staying CL-nothing more than a 5-7 minute walk away. When I stayed at POR I arrived alone after midnight due to snow delays and was asked if I needed luggage assistance. I said no because I had just 1 small rolling suitcase but they didn't tell me my room was at least 1/2 mile away! I also found POR to be loud. With those outside corridors-kids were always running around and shaking them and screaming. Of course this was before I had kids so maybe I wouldn't notice today. I found the Poly very quiet. I heard a few kids running in the halls on occasion but not as loud as those outside corridors. The first year there I asked for a room near the lounge and we had the room right next to the lounge on the 2nd floor and I never heard any noise from the lounge. Have you shown her photos from Tikiman's site? Goodluck with your decisions! Just show her a few beach photos and she'll be sold!

Floridafam-just a few days!

Goodferry-your counter's looking great too! Good luck keeping the surprise. Maybe you could do some of those things (mousekeeping envelopes, making must do lists) in the plane. How old are your children again? I really want to tell DD but I can't stand the "is it almost time to go to Disney?". So I just talk in terms of "someday" with her. If we go back to Disney what do you want to do? That way I know whats on top of her list and we can have fun talking about it but without the "are we there yet...."

Steveanddonna-welcome home!

Elizabeth-hope you had a great trip and are settling into your new job.

Fred-I'm sure you're having a great trip. I'll have to go check out your whos going when site when I've got some time now that I've got my dates set.

forgot to add-the Passporter is also available in a deluxe ring bound version(Daytimer like) so you can add your own pages. Perfect for the true planning fanatic. All my friends thought I had lost my Disney mind when they saw it.:teeth:

And DF-think they have one for cruise.....

luckywife,

Still thinking of DS.::yes:: He will be in our prayers.

Just a few days until we leave! I'm running around all over town doing everything that needs to be done.

We are packed and can't wait to leave for Florida.

DH is excited and nervous. The 23rd is going to be a very special day for us. He has the triathlon in the morning. He is doing the race in memory of my brother, who passed away a few years ago on May 23 from colon cancer. I'm sure it will be really special when he comes across the finish line.

That evening, Janet2k and her family were gracious enough to extend us an invitation to their Summerhouse Dinner Party at the Grand Floridian. We just can't put into words how excited we are. It should be a wonderful evening. We'll be doing the Family Magic Tour together the day before and I'm sure we're going to have a ball. ::yes::

The rest of the trip will be rest and relaxation.:sunny:

Anyone heard from Majestic yet?

Well, my friend decided to bite the bullet and stay at the Poly. Yeah team.

WoodysRoundup You are there!! Under 200 days! Terrific. I'll be along in another 214 days.....

floridafam and goodferry I'm green with counter-envy

BT Both of our rooms are full, but it was a good thought. She's going to bite the bullet and do the Poly, but probably will not return for a few years.....

steveanddonna Come on already! Tell about your trip!! I live vicariously through your trips! Help me. I have 214 more days.....:bounce: :Pinkbounc

luckywife Oh my. Been there. It is soooo hard to see your little baby so sick. My DGS spent the first week or so of his life in a tent with tubes in the NICU. Your heart just breaks.

But your DS will be fine. And you will soon be on your trip. And he will be running around and having a wonderful time. My thoughts are with you...:grouphug:

:wave2: :wave2: :wave2: have a great week lizards.....

Floridafam - Cancer has striken many in our family. Unfortunately, there hasn't been many in our family that are "survivors." I know it will be extremely special for him to come across that finish line ::yes::. Hugs & Wishes being sent your way for your family to have a fabulous trip!

Steveanddonna - Welcome back! Can't wait to hear how your trip went, but from teaser you sent it sounds like you had a great time.

Dreamflight - Maybe BT can pull some more strings.....could you swing a mini-trip while we are there? :teeth: I wouldn't care if I sat on the hood of the van to make room for you. You know I am a little adventurous - LOL!

Steffy - I'm so glad your friend decided to go with Poly. I've already made a promise to myself that I will be staying there one of these days. I've always wanted to go away to a tropical paradise & it might be the closest I ever get to one - LOL!

:wave2: - to all you lizards out there!!!

Thanks lovesdumbo That was just what I needed to hear... :goodvibes :goodvibes

BTW, my Passporter (the 2004 edition, I have many) is the leather-bound binder. :cool1:

floridafam all I can say is wow. Yes, the 23rd is going to be very emotional day. I think it is wonderful what your husband is doing for you. Enjoy the party at janet2k!!

vaGal76 Thanks! This is indeed a dream come true for us and our trip of a lifetime. For our May trip... I think we might be at PORFQ. :p :p :p

Luckywife>> Lots of P and PD for your little one! I do hope they get better soon! That is so tough having a baby in the hospital! I've been tehre with my first born and I still have flashbacks to it! I am sure you'll be just making vacation plans in no time, with them safe and healthy running around the kitchen!

Floridafam>> I am sure that will be very emotional. What a nice tribute, though. I am crying just reading about it!

Tess>> keep calling, calling calling! That is our motto!

Oh I have counter envy looking at a bunch of these counters! Have wonderful trips! I can't wait to hear about the BT/VAgal's sunset safari! Oh wouldn't it be wonderful to do a concierge lounge lizard safari!? I don't think the trip would ever be the same!

OK.. I DID IT! I put down the deposit for Poly GVC! I did have them note that it was DD's graduation present and she'd be in total girlygirl princess heaven if she saw Cindy's castle from our room! I am only holding out about 1percent hope for this, but I just had to mention it! Atleast I know what longhouse I'll be in! Half Dolphin/ half Poly..... a sorority sister meet with the Swan/Dolphin gals.... add in K&A&C'smom to the bunch.... what a fantastic trip!

floridafam>> I'll hold down the fort here while you enjoy yourselves! The only thing you'll miss will be the orange barrels!

Big wave to EVERYTHING!:grouphug:
Debbie

PS Bambi... fabulous clip art.. as always!

hockeymom,

Thanks for holding the fort down until we get back.

I'm sure you will have a great trip to the Poly!!

DH shaved his legs, so I know it's official we're going! (just a little humor) Kind of painful to put on the wetsuit over a bunch of leg hair. ::yes::

I want to leave early! I just want to leave all the stress of the past few weeks behind and feel the sunshine on my face.

I scheduled my surgery today for June 21. Should be a peice of cake.

Prayers and pixie dust to all. It sure sounds like we've all had more than our share of stress lately. Everyone stay healthy.

:D

Wow, y'all have been busy! For the past couple of days I've been obsessively perusing the Offsite forums, way back to 2001. I've been thinking of booking my next trip offsite at a private home, since my h won't be coming, and hence his $$ won't be coming, either! ;) But alas. . . the magic has won once again! I can't imagine staying several miles away from WDW, getting ready for MNSSHP and driving there in *my car*. Not to mention the fact that these other resorts usually don't have lifeguards on duty at their pools. Uh-uh, no dice! Mickey, you win again! :D

~*~Luckywife--How awful for your little one! I will be keeping him in my prayers for a speedy recovery! {{hugs}} And everyone is right when they say that kids bounce back quickly. You will be beboppin' around WDW in no time! :earsboy:

~*~ #1Hockeymom--Yay on booking that trip! I'm so tempted to book mine, but just can't get the nerve yet. For some silly reason I feel I have to have *all* the money saved up before I book. Is taht rational? :/

When is your trip? July? Oooh, I'm so excited for you! :D

Everyone have a great day! I need to get my rear off the computer and get some work done!

luckywife--many prayers and lots of pixie dust for your little guy, it is such a helpless feeling to watch a sick child, especially that young.

floridafam--have a great trip, you deserve!::yes::

lovesdumbo--my kids are 12, 8, 5, and >1. Part of the reason for the surprise is selficious, I don't want to hear the "are you ready yet. are you ready yet." and part of me can't wait to see the looks on their faces when we get to the airport. I could save envelopes for the flight, although it's less than an hour.

Debbie-congrats on finalizing those plans! I can't wait to hear from steveandonna about their visit to the Poly!

BB and DF-- I absolutely love my passporter, but I am such a geek about this planning stuff! I love the little stick on tabs and the room to make all my notes and keep everything together. I still have mine from the last trip, and I go through it to see what we enjoyed (everything!) last trip

Its more rational than my way which is "if I don't have all the money saved up I have back up reservations at the Swan or Dolphin!" I am glad I am splitting the trip... two great deluxe hotels and two different areas! Just think, I can taste test the pool bar drinks at two different places! LOL airfare is paid for, two of us have APs, and I have tons of vouchers left from April so I am just saving for the hotel cost with it not eating into our regular savings plan.

I agree, life guards make a difference because that allows YOU to enjoy your vacation, not just the kids! People seem suprised that I had my back turned to DS during our trip in January. I was at the Pool bar, he takes mandatory swim lessons at the lake every summer plus we own a pool, and there were THREE count them THREE kids in the pool, and four life guards! I figure he was safe w/o mom watching! (plus, no sister to fight with in the pool! Then I'd have to have been watching a bit better!) Boy did those drinks taste good, too! Hockey... a great drink... no snow in January... tradewinds blowing by and the sound of flamingoes in the background... what more could a person want?

Guess what? I booked the Poly! (ok, it hit me!)
Debbie:Pinkbounc

Debbie - Hurray!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc You won't regret this decision - I wish we had booked Poly for the other half of our trip, I'm having Poly withdrawal!! But, we've said we were gonna try the WL, and I'm sure we'll enjoy it!:teeth: And, even if you don't get an upgrade to LV, that Poly CL lounge view is AWESOME!!!::yes:: I'll send lots of PD your way for the upgrade, though, that would be magical! (My DD is quite the little princess: too! Quite different after 2 tear-em-up boys!;) )

floridafam - LOL! My DH used to cycle, and he has a friend who cycles professionally and shaves his legs. DH said there was no way, as his legs are like a gorilla's, he'd be shaving twice a day! Very aerodynamic, however!:teeth:

You won't regret staying onsite. I stayed offsite in a BEAUTIFUL very close to the magic timeshare and it broke my heart at the end of the day to drive under the arch that said "Welcome to Disney" Oh THE PAIN!!!!!!

Even though we arrived at a GORGEOOUS TIMESHARE.

The only thing we missed at the WL was the washer/dryer. :sunny: :hyper:

Okay, am I the only one who tries to justify the cost of concierge by saying its cost effective. We never have to go out for breakfast. Also, how can you put a price on all the time you save in the morning. While I'm getting the kids dressed my husband gets the coffee and danish and brings in right back to the room. We always get an earlier start in the parks when we stay concierge.

And how about those deserts at the Poly Concierge?

Actually, I was introduced to concierge when GF offered it to us because the were unable to accomodate a room request. I almost turned it down. I thought it was a scam until the cast member assured me it was a very good thing. And he was right. Going back to GF Concierge in October can't wait!

I agree once you go concierge it is very hard to go back.

Yes, having a lifeguard definitely lets you relax a little bit! I figured if we rented a private home with a pool, that would be just one more battle to contend with--I'd *never* get to relax!

Oh, I"m LOL! I guess that was *Pure Agony*, eh? ;) Well, now I don't feel so bad for being unable to go offsite! :D
